  8. Softail refers to a pivotless rear suspension and it forms part of the bike, often a dual suspension is refered to as a softail, but its not
  9. Noooo my 29'er is for marathon rides, with my height i look clumsy enough on it. 26 for Rietvlei as it has too many twists and turns.
  10. Rietvlei, closer to home,, bottle store and shops close by and plenty for non cyclists to do But agree running them both the same weekend will impact on numbers.

  12. Mostly jeep and single, but some sections are rocky where previous on a 26 I used to ride with rear shock open but now i find i don't need to.

  17. I looked at the option of bike build a few months back and the best i could find was around R8500 for a bike kit and that excluded frame, shock, headset and seat post. I had some of the parts including the frame already but for the same amount i could get a new decent specced HT bike.

Interesting you have Racing Ralphs as one of your tops, i've got them on my 29're for a month now and suffered 3 punctures in that time, wheras i have been riding with Larsen TT's on my 26're for 3 years now and have yet to suffer a puncture.
  21. As mentioned DRC are very strong i have the 36 hole and have yet to break a spoke, Mavic open Pro and if you like bling Easton Circuits, worst wheels i've found for heavier riders are Alex rims.
  22. Dont sweat the small stuff, there is no rule as to what a newbie can post and even so i see your introductory post as an opinion on what you saw on TV.
  23. He is the most well known, his wife was mugged while bike riding, he has opened up his site to allow donations. Why not him.
