  1. So what do you suggest to have for a home invasion. I have a young family and had a incident this past weekend with a guy getting into our property. He triggered the alarm, when I looked at the cameras there was a light shined into one of the cameras, the armed response came out and did their sweep of the property, looked at the camera again and the perp was gone. Could have been much worse. We have had about 4 incidents in our area in the last week.
  2. This might be a good option to carry non lethal defense weapon when cycling. https://byrna.co.za
  3. It looks like a Mtb with road handle bars. what am I missing?
  4. Hard to see it going any other way than a Pogačar win. Of the other GC contenders only Thomas has some ability against the clock. Uijtdebroeks is a bit of a unknown, looking at his past results it does not look like he has much of a chance but the Bees would have put a lot of work in strengthening his TT abilities. With the TT still in the first week we might se some TT specialists, the likes of Ganna, Foss, Mullen and Hepburn set the early bench mark. Plapp might be the surprise package of the day, as his GC hopes has taken a major hit he might go all out today and try and get this stage win.
  5. This will be a total game changer for you, I have also had the experience of riding pain free for quite some time without a proper bike setup, but the difference the bike setup made was immense. Ryder Innovation makes quite a few nice products that allows you to store most of your stuff on the bike, and then the SWAT boxes from Specialized is great, I have one of those on my bike. It is expensive but way cheaper than buying new bibs every couple of months. I also have a small bag that I bought at my LBS, that carries some small tools, extra CO2's plus adaptor and cash that I simply through in my jersey pocket. this is great as it is a bit smaller than a saddle bag but can carry it with me during MTB or road rides so no need to have a saddle bag for each bike
  6. Interesting stage today with the 3 gravel sections and then the finale with the wall of serre di Rapolano. Could this be a perfect day for the break away to go all the way, or will we see Pog attack and extend his lead even further. This stage suits a Alaphilippe of olds, he is in the break away today. can he turn back the clock and do what he used to do.
  7. Is this the saddle bag in question?
  8. I would still be in bed feeling sorry for myself.
  9. really impressive how fast these guys get back on the bike after a serious crash. Let's go Jonas
  10. Looks like something my 3 year old painted.
  11. I still enjoy watching it even if I have my doubts. Lance made me lose all the trust. So now whenever I see a guy go on a 60Km + solo attack and completely destroys the rest of a very elite bunch of cyclist, it is really hard for me not to wonder. I guess there where guys in the past like Boonen and Cancellara that was able to do the same, but they had their limits. Pog does not seem to have any.
  12. unfortunately with the history of cycling it is hard not to question any stand out performance. I want to believe that we are in a new clean era with a level playing field but if I have learned anything from the past, is if it looks to good to be true, then it probably is. For cycling I really hope that he is just an exceptional talent that is streets ahead of the rest.
  13. I think this wins hands down, looks like two engineers that hated each other worked on this, one designed the rear triangle and the other one got the rest of the bike to do.
  14. You reckon they are currently clean?
  15. How is he soo damn good... Is he even human. Thomas knows how to pace himself over 3 weeks but I still can't see him get close to Pog.
  16. It might be a lekker bike to ride, but that just screams lazy design work and impractical. guess if you own one like this you ride with a camelbak?
  17. Any dual suspension where the rear suspension is connected mid way on the down tube. Like this
  18. That is great news, Hopefully he will line up at the Tour. Any news on Jonas?
  19. I have seen a few people complain about this happening to them when they did the version 26 update(a year ago) on the Garmin Fenix 6. Hopefully Garmin will sort you guys out as it sounds like a software update issue. Garmin has not stopped support for fenix 6 so it should be something that can be corrected.
  20. I think you are either missing the point of security at the entrances of shops or have not been living in south africa for very long. The amount of people that tries their luck to steal a bike or anything from the store is outrageous. Role number one for any security guard is treat everybody like a potential criminal and check everyone's slips/bags etc. For one you could have picked up the bike at the servicing department, all the bikes stands their, walk over to the till, buy a chocolate and walk out as if you paid for the bike and or bike service. The security guard will most likely in such a instance be fired. We are not in europe or Murica but in South Africa where our unemployment rate is sky high. I have bought a bike online from CL as well for my daughter and they also requested to see my invoice which was on email. I engaged with the salesman regarding the procedure and he said to me the amount of chancers they get of people trying to walk away without paying is scary. order online, go for pickup and payment and just skip the payment part. Well done to the security guard for doing his job
  21. This just proofs the point that we are being severely overcharged if they are able to sell a bike with a 50% discount and still make money.
  22. Thanks, I don't understand our point at all. Just some facts if you did not know this. 1. Majority of Bicycles is manufactured in Taiwan 2. Merida(Taiwanese company) manufactures for third parties and is one of the largest bike manufacturers in the world. $2.2B turnover 3. Merida is a 35% shareholder of Specialized and produces their bikes in Taiwan like the majority of bicycles that you might think is done elsewhere. the cost to manufacture these bikes is way less than what you actually believe it costs. A sworks frame selling for $6000 probably cost them $500.00 from Merida excl.shipping. lets call it landed cost to the shop at $1000 they work on a markup of 500%. If the halved their markup they would still be making a killing and would still be able to finance all the R&D, sponsors and marketing campaigns and still be able to ride their lambos. In honesty you will probably see a significant uptick on the sales of the Sworks model and a increase in revenue.
  23. No Please don't. Enlighten me with your profound knowledge. I will be the first one to admit when I am wrong.
