  1. I think Remco will also be in the mix, this is his kind of finish.
  2. That final climb might be a bit too steep for his liking. average at 12%., more suited towards a WvA kind of rider or the GC men. It will be a select group that makes it to the end together.
  3. I was running about once a week, 5km max. I am taking it slow, trying to build up the km's at first and trying to increase it by 10% per week. The furthest I have gone was 9km so far. Most of my runs is no longer than 30min at the moment. over the weekends I try to put in a longer run, up to an hour.
  4. I recently started training for my first marathon. I have done a couple of 21km races and triathlons(70.3) but no real urge to go beyond that. I don't know why I decided that I want to do it but I am 4 weeks in my training and starting to enjoy it but feeling it on my legs. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Then one question: Anyone that used to use pronation shoes that went to a running orthotist and addressed the issue and is happily running with normal shoes now?(This question do not relate to myself)
  5. It is very possible, it all depends on how hard you are pushing and what kind of heart rate you are managing during the event. Some people run a comfortable sub 6min/km at a average heart rate of 135 other people with the same kind of fitness level has an average heart rate of close to 160 at the same pace. As you say it is all about conditioning, that is why the zone 2 training is so important for Ultra distance events.

Has the root change been confirmed. As far as I am aware it sounds like stage one will be a loop due to the increasing risk of foot and mouth decease in the area.
  7. I thought so much, It was/is probably one of his biggest downfalls when it comes to grand tours, Louis has historically almost always lost time during the first week, either being caught out of position when a split happens or being caught behind a crash. He would probably have many more top 10/5 finishes if it weren't for that. Just my opinion.
  8. Louis always seems to ride at the back of the peloton. I found it quite strange, the amount of times he had to "sprint" whenever the riders in front of him got dropped is countless. Having to work extra hard just to close the gap. Not sure if there is a reason why he chooses to ride like that?
  9. Once should be fine, I do not want a repeat of the up run where she ended up at the finish before I reached PMB.
  10. My wife will be at the starting line for her first down run, second comrades. Where would be the best spot to meet them and still have enough time to get to the finish line to watch them finish.
  11. This is not a thing in one day races, never has been.
  12. Yes, cause the first thing you when seeing a lifeless person, while struggling through heat exhaustion and trying to stay alive yourself is ruk out your phone and start taking pictures. Some people actually have common decency and respect for others. Just imagine you finding out your loved one passed away by some one posting his lifeless body on social media. Ou "bright spark"
  13. What will the weight limit be on a wheelset like that?
  14. Agree, Jonas is listed as 1.75m and 60kg. If I look at them both I doubt that Alan is only 62kg. And Tadej is listed as 1.76 and 66kg.
  15. 62kg on a 1.80m frame. that is a what they call "cab watch skinny"
  16. I was wondering the same thing, I have no idea what I am talking about, but from my little understanding of cycling. XCO is a short hard effort with respite from the downhills 1h30 max effort. On a real mountain stage that could be the total time ascending. If you look at the Olympic games where Pidcock attacked on the final lap and how he completely rode Alan off his wheel on such a short climb, just imagine what will happen to him against a guy like Roglic/Tadej on a 10km climb as Pidcock can't even hold their wheel, not to mentioned the 3/4hours on the bike per day for 21 days. There is a reason why so few riders find success in both disciplines. So what does Hatherley's numbers look like compared to let's say a guy like Roglic?
  17. That is very interesting. What do you guys think his chances are on the road and what kind of rider he will be, does he have GC ambitions in a GT? I hoped that he would rather cement his legacy on the dirt and maybe add a couple of Epic titles to his trophy cabinet.
  18. And from next year, the clay pigeon guys can shoot real bullets at real moving objects on bikes.

  20. *now obviously wrestling was a male only sport then, and he was from Romania not the Soviet Union team, but let's just paper over that. Romania only declared their independence from the Soviet union in 1964. if you were born in 1944 then if my math's are correct you spend the first 20 years of your life under Soviet rule? I will leave it at that.
  21. What a week of racing that was. The week ahead will be extremely hard, No flat stages left in the entire tour except for the final TT on the last day. This sunday's final climb will have gradients of up to 24%, expect to see the real mountain goats to shine and the heavier climbers will struggle to keep up. Richard Carapaz and Adam Yates with an outside chance to podium. Roglic should still be favourite for the win as long as he can keep his bike upright.
  22. That argument can be applied to Pidcock as well. For me he did, when Felix had some success he was more pissed off than supportive or happy for his team mate. "Being a Champ" is not all about winning.
  23. Not To bad on the TT compared to other GC riders but Roglic is in another class. Time difference on the first stage was about 40sec.
  24. He came across as a complete tool in the Netflix docu.
  25. Great ride by him but I doubt he will be able to hang onto that lead. He lost more than a minute on stage 4. I somehow missed that he finished 4th in the Giro this year. So I might be wrong but I do not think he can stay with Roglic in the High mountains and the final TT will heavily favor Roglic as well
