  1. Interesting, I assume that was before his music career took off?
  2. Don't waste your time on Mywhoosh, Indievelo is a far simpler setup with way less hardware specs requirements and does exactly what Swift does and a bit more.
  3. Until MyWhoosh do not sort out the hardware requirements it will be hard to see them get a better following. I have tried it on two decent Laptops and my Iphone. Laptops could not even download what they call the "friendlier" version. Iphone graphics is horrible and the airplay did not want to cast to a tv. I have tried all three of them recently and Indievelo has given me the most realistic experience and I will be sticking to it.
  4. I agree, nothing wrong with that move. It looked worse than it was.
  5. The French like their protests, I wonder if we will see one for that maneuver from Pidcock. The guy is a great bike rider but I simply cannot stand him.
  6. Pidcock is a excellent bike rider. To close that 40second gap the way he did. Insane. Well done Alan! what a ride!!!
  7. This sounds like our government. Matric pass rate is too low, okay let's reduce the pass mark to 30%. Minister of basic education "we are happy to announce that the Matric pass rate for this year is up by 20%. The criteria was set in the beginning of the year, why did they not complain then, I can tell you why, they did not expect that CSA will stick to their rules and bend it for them as GM managed to secure us 7 spots. This reactive complaining is a really poor character trade. Instead of being pro active and trying to sort the issue out with CSA at the beginning of the year.
  8. The results for Rory, Stefan and Theo this year. All did some of the UCI events, non managed to make it past the qualifying round
  9. Do you mind elaborating on what happened? I am not familiar with the story.
  10. Listened to some of the clip provided, I find it very strange that the rider wants to use his own money to go to world champs but cannot use that same money to get to one of the UCI events to earn the required points. Instead of earning his slot at worlds they are riding on the coattails of GM to secure qualification. He also stated that neither of them will win the worlds but want to use it to gain experience as there is less competition at worlds.
  11. IT was a "steal" Specialized stumpjumper hardtail carbon with XT components, bought it from a friend of mine that upgraded to a dual suspension. So I insured it for replacement value and not retail value. Got a quote from specialized at the time for the bike for insurance purposes. and that was the amount that it was insured for. That is why I think the OP might have an issue as there is no equal replacement for the bike in question, 26er Raleigh etc. Replacement value will probably be that of a Raleigh that you buy at macro or something.
  12. Good luck with this, from my experience with insurance. You will have a very tough time. I bought a second hand bike (10k) a couple of years ago, had it insured for replacement value R30k the day before I went for a ride. Went to groenkloof and did a ride with a friend. Got back home and stored the bike in the garage. The garage was not connected to the house and only my bikes were stored there. The next weekend I wanted to go for a ride again, got dressed and when I opened the garage the bike was gone. The accusations from the insurance companies investigating officer was that I insured the bike after it had been stolen etc etc. was one of the worse experiences I ever had, they even threatened to do a polygraph test to determine if I was lying. They contacted my friend and grilled him as well regarding when we rode and what I was wearing and how did the bike look etc. etc. Luckily I had the ride recorded on my watch and also managed to find the slip when paying at Groenkloof. They also refused to pay the cash out directly to me and instead paid it to a bike shop that stocked the same kind of bike. Seeing as it is such a old bike I highly doubt that any insurance company will agree to such a high insurance value.
  13. When last have you done a proper bike setup?
  14. That and also the fact that ASO have tried for a number of years to get a French rider in the yellow jersey by the time they reach Paris. The French have had a number of pure climbers in the past view years but none of them particularly great against the clock and apart from Alaphilippe most have been on smaller French teams. I think they have given up on that, hard to see anyone beating the two top dogs over the next 5 years and there is no young french prospect looking to fill the void left by Letour, Pinot etc.
  15. I doubt anyone that stood on the top step of the podium is actually clean. The current guys included, they are just masking it better. Micro doping being the name of the game at the moment. I have accepted it for what it is and it is not taking any joy away for me to watch these guys race their guts out.
  16. Well he is planning on doing Olympics next and the World champs as well, if he do manage to win just one of the two it is still one of the best seasons by any rider in history. Anyone have any insight on the courses for the Olympics and world champs?
  17. Just imagine this, Winning the Giro, Le Tour, Vualta, Olympic games, and world championship in one year. than throw in a Liege-Bastogne-Leige and Strade Bianche in the mix as well. That would be impossible....?
  18. I get what you are saying. No harm done to include them. My point of view is it should be a prestige event, and there should be pride and honor in representing your country at such a event and that should be earned. Not handed out just because there is slots available. That is it for me.
  19. The way things looked yesterday I think the chances are better for Jonas to lose his second place than it is for him to gain time on Pogi. That being said, stranger things has happened in the past.
  20. Visma sending Van Aert and Laporte up ahead, I think we will see a attack on the du noyer from Jonas. My money is still on Pogi for the stage
  21. I had a quick look at our current national downhill champ, he participated in 4 events this entire year, two of those were UCI events. He had a DNF and a 124th place in the UCI events.
  22. Exactly, a generational talent, his talent got seen at a very young age and got rewarded for his talent, hard work and sacrifices, The SA champs this year had a total field of 29 riders. so we want to send 20% of the total SA field to the World champs. What a joke. If you are good enough chances are that someone will see your talent and you will get a opportunity to showcase it on the big stage.
  23. World champs is not a numbers game, is for the cream of the crop. I would rather have no one there than have 10 guys that basically just make up the numbers and takes the last 10 spots on the rankings. There should really only be one from each country except if the second and third rider is also ranked in the top 20 of the world. Then only should they be considered. It is a exclusive club and representing your country should be reserved for only the best.
