  1. Mmmmm, that sounds very inviting. How far more or less?
  2. Happy when I cycle yes, that's the short answer, but it gets lonely doing it by yourself, the other day I was cycling in the dark, only to realize after 6km's it's not really fun and turned back to have BF with wife, kid and friends we went away with for the weekend. But was back on the bike 2 days later in though.
  3. Thule Clup on works like a dream, I know the Saris looks really pretty, but imo the Clip on is still the best bet for this type of thing.
  4. Well, you'll have to look on this site what the other guys say, I was lucky enough to know someone who went to the UK, sy the brouht it back for me. I think the say 4 days, but I think that is a bit optemistic, saver bet would be between week and 2 weeks, to allow for customs all of that.
  5. Jip, has it's own battery and on the middel setting it will last up to 10 hours, it is really bright, I rarely ride on max setting http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=31359 http://www.exposurelights.com/products/joystick_maxx_2_-_2009/index.php
  6. I just got the Exposure Joystick Maxx2 through CRC. I'm riding wih it on my helmet at the moment. Good light, good battery life. I'm planning on either getting another one for the handelsbars or getting the Enduro Maxx of the handelbars. Great lights.
  7. I just saw on your website that you stock Rocky Mountain, that's good news, as I thought the only guys doing that is out in Somerset West and Franschoek. I need to get my Formula Brakes, bled, and would prefer someone who knows it to do it. Can you give me and idea of cost and how long it will take to do please? Thanks
  8. Guys, I think we are all commenting on opinion and no facts. I still say, I don't think the balju actually closed the doors, even though I know someone mentioned it here. If it was the balju, there would be a chain and a lock on the shop's doors, which there isn't. If that is the case, that the balju didn't close the doors, then, surely it doesn't matter what kind of deals are going on. Yes, maybe they are on the verge of colapse, but, if you can squeeze I extra bit out of it, before someon comes and lock your doors, then surely there is nothing wrong with it. I'm not trying to stir, I'm not a friend of Willie or anybody that worked there and I think everybody makes valid points here, but let's give the guy the benefit until we know the facts. We must remember, his name does have value, even if he has gone belly up, yes they might close his shop and take his house, but he can still get very far with his name, so let's not spoil that. No matter how we look at it, it is still sad, either way.
  9. I've been keeping a good eye on this post, purely because I work literally down the road from the shop and use to go in there just to talk crap with the guys. I cannot say that I spend to much money there, but hey, the are nice, once I got to know them, still sad that I never made the night rides. What I would like to add to this thread is if any one of us know the facts, or, if we base what we are sayin on roomers. I mean, was the sheriff really involved, I'm not sayin g it isn't so, but, it would be nice if we keeo with the facts, and from what I can gather, the only know facts are the sms and that their doors are closed. I am sure that they will re-open, maybe not this year, but there certainly is a value to the name WE as well as a market for what they sold, not that I could afford it, but they still had the biggest range of stock of all the shops. I also always though very highly of the fact that they stayed in the small "low key" shop, I mean, he could have opened a monster store at Willow Bridge, next to all the other boutique type shops, or even opened up next ro the Pro Shop, or over at Fruit and Vedge, also and Willow Bridge, but they stayed small, always though that it was a good idea. Let's see what happens over the next few months.
  10. I must agree with Popeye, it started nice, but this thread is getting a funny smell. Wierd how all threads always gets to a point where it turns ugly, although, I must say Pop, most people do seem to have more sympathy than anger.
  11. Jip, I must say, the brighter lights are very goog and possibly in line/better that the lupines. Just a tad expensive for me.
  12. So, don't want to change the line of this thread, also don't know if we are allowed to do this, but which shops do you guys use in the Cape? Are we allowed to "advertise" should we start a new thread rather?
  13. Got this sms just after 12 last night: The WE Lifestyle centre have closed its doors by own choice despite rumours going round. We will take time out to restructure and will open at the same premises once we feel comfortable with the new concept of smaller, better, smarter. Thank you all for the support over past decade. PS Any ideas for future wiill be welcome So ja, there we have it, Very strange seeing that they had a special going until Saturday. I at least though they will stick it out until after thee weekend, which makes one believe that someone did close the. Drove past there this morning, all the windows was covered by posters and paper and you couldn't see if anything is inside. Looks like someone cleared it out last night. It is really, really sad, even if you didn't like them.
  14. That Lupine light is really good, but also one of the most expensive, even more expensive than the Brighter Lights.
  15. GoLefty, you refering to the Exposure Lights?
  16. I've been reading up on lights and options and costs etc etc, finally got the Exposure Maxx 2 Joystick(240 lumen), for a helmet light, R1500, and then I' thinking of getting the Exposure Maxx Enduro for my handelbars (720 lumen), it is around R2600, 3 hours burn time on max, 10 hours on ride and 24 on the lowest setting, so for the price you get plenty of light, not extra batterie, everything in one complete light set.
  17. I just got the Exposure Maxx 2 Joytstick. Very small, very light, and a lot of light. Got it for R1500 from CRC.
  18. Why is bar end a big no no?
  19. I must adimit, I also prefer the flat bar, even though, like you say it looks a bit dull, comfort might be better that looks. I you want to sell the KCNC stem, let me know which one it is and the cost, I might be interested.
  20. But, if there is no one to ride with, then you don't really have a choice
  21. Very, very interesting video clip. You cannot argue with this
  22. Oh, so you're the guy that I passed the other day
  23. Ok, well that makes sense doesn't it. So then on a smallish item, as you say, add the Vat and shipping and it coulde very well be more expensive that the LBS. I think the bottom line is you really need to know your prices in order to make an informed decision.
