  1. What would you like me to say? We sat down with the guys from Darkhorse wheels and sorted things out. No hard feelings.
  2. Didn't realise I was out of line calling people on the Hub "Hubbers" I unreservedly apologise to anyone offended by the use of this term.
  3. There's no problem, just clarifying that as Dark Horse Brands we are not affiliated to Dark Horse Wheels just as we are not affiliated to Dark Horse Comics, Investments, Finance, Distributors etc. Not sure why some hubbers have got there panties in a knot about the fact that we're just trying to clarify who sells what.
  4. We only found out about Dark Horse Wheels after we had registered our company and started communicating to IBD's. As a Limited company we are registered on a different system to Dark Horse Wheels as a Closed Corporation, hence their name did not come up and Dark Horse whatever is by no means original. There are about 20 other Dark Horse Companies registered in SA, we chose the name as it resonates with where we feel our brands are in the market place. Can you please explain what bully BS are you referring to? Surely stating that we are not involved with Dark Horse Wheels is merely stating a fact to clarify any confusion?
  5. Our initial focus is on re establishing product supply to the market and building a dealer network worthy of the Trek brand. A bit vague I know, but you really don't want to know all the nuts & bolts, suffice it to say that our goal is to set the benchmark for service levels in the industry. WRT warranty claims consumers can contact us directly to start the claim process, but it will need to be finalised through a cycle dealer in the Trek network. At this stage we will continue to support the riders that are currently riding on Trek. Anything else?
  6. We did a name search when looking at names and Dark Horse Wheels did not even register.......
  7. Hi guys, There is no change in company name, Dark Horse Brands is an entirely new company that has been awarded the distribution rights for Trek & Bontrager after they decided not to renew their contract with Royalty Sports. Some staff that were working with the Trek Brand before have moved across to Dark Horse to try and maintain some continuity. We are well aware of the situation wrt the distribution of Trek & Bontrager in SA, as is Trek and we are committed to re-establishing the Trek brand as a major player in SA. PS: We are in no way involved with Dark Horse Wheels.
  8. Interestingly I didn't notice a huge improvement when going from a 9mm QR to the 15QR standard, until I test rode a 29'r with a 9mm QR recently and there was a huge difference! Can't believe anyone would still opt for an open dropout fork on a 29'r it's just retarded when compared to the 15QR system
  9. Most of the Bluetooth Heart Rate straps use Bluetooth 4.0(Smart) which is not compatible with all Android based phones.
  10. How could the UCI have handled it better? They investigated the protests that were lodged, examined the evidence and issued the penalty in line with the ACE rules. They also went as far as banning the release of the video footage to the media initially in an effort to minimize trial by social media. Only when their integrity was being called into question by Fedgroup & KE did they present the evidence to the public. It's also worth mentioning that if they were using the UCI rules as the default rules KE & MK would have been immediately disqualified from the event.
  11. There were no outcast riders in the group he passed, the white jerseys in the footage belong to Meerendal Songo Teams. Would like to think that it was a case of mistaken identity on KE's part, but at the end of it all he did overtake other teams still in the race, not just his own team mates, hence the ruling upheld. If only he had accepted his mistake and the consequences at the time before trying to apply Social Media pressure on the organizers he and his team would have saved themselves and their sponsors alot of embarrassment.
  12. Inside assistance has always been allowed and encouraged in the spirit of mountainbiking, however you are not allowed to swap bikes, which is what happened in this case. It also didn't help that Burry's bike was then put on a quad bike to get to the tech zone quicker. Always know the facts
  13. The video footage from the cameras that captured the incident will be played in tonights highlights. KE made a deliberate decision to leave the course and made a move to cut from one section of track to the next which might have been 5m but helped him jump approx 12 riders in order to catch up with MK and was well over 50m of track. You can't hear the verbal abuse clearly on the video but it is there. A number of teams were in line to protest the incident incl euro teams, however the Scott Factory Team was first. I've always liked and supported KE and it's pretty disappointing to have to be involved in his demise in the race, but must say I find his and their teams response to this appalling and in very bad taste. If I were The sponsorship manager at Fedgroup I'd be cashing out of this team at the first opportunity.
