  1. Nothing is full proof, coatings vents etc all have their drawbacks, would advise not to use products that are not designed for sunglasses as the school fees are steep!! Many lens cleaners and other solutions are solvent based and will eat off the coatings on your lenses if not actually eating the lens itself! I've seen it happen!!! Prevention is better than cure, buy sunglasses that don't sit to tightly against your forehead and keep the lenses clean, wash them with mild soap every so often! I've been using Adidas Evil Eye's for a couple of years now and have never had an issue with fogging nor with the Supernovas that I own now, the bonus with these is that you can adjust the nosepiece and frame to allow more air to circulate behind the lens so no fogging.
  2. You can buy them online from www.mountainmailorder.co.za or www.ganics.co.za at the moment. Are talking to other online retailers as well!
  3. Where working on a SA inspired flavour, so suggestions welcome! Can't include meat however, tried that and shelf life is too short!!!
  4. Check out our website www.performancesports.co.za for retailer listings!
  5. Hi All! Mulebars are now available at Capestorm nationwide!! Including the new flavour Summer Pudding as well as Mule ReFuel Protein Bars
  6. Seems to me the answer is simple ride CONTINENTAL!! 4 years various tyres 0 preoblems with any tubeless sealants!!!
  7. Agree Rock 'n Roll Gold rocks!!!!
  8. Learn to service and maintain your bike yourself!! It really isn't rocket science, really!! Bottom line is NO ONE will ever take as good care of it or be as thorough as you are!! And you save yourself a lot of money
  9. How can you upgrade if you already run the best?
  10. The new shape levers and reworked internals of SHIMANO STI's have altered the leverage ratio compared to older versions. Hence the recommendation that you use the new calipers with new levers. It's generally good practice to do so in any case. It is true that just about any caliper will work with any lever, but the performance will vary. Lastly, ignore the tech write ups in most magazines as generally they are way off the mark!!!
  11. You can get Luxeon bulbs for Maglites, which should work. They are pretty pricey though at about R250
  12. Use Mineral Oil and nothing else!! Other fluids will adversely effect performance and service life. Mineral Oil for bicycle disc brakes are available from Shimano, Magura and Finishline and possibly others as well. Would suggest you invest in a bleed kit, less mess and much quicker!
  13. Did the bike come specced with those rotors? Fibrax make some good resin pads, you could also try hybrid pads like the Swissstop ones, but not sure how they'll go with the rotors? I use the Shimano Resin pads and they last a long time! I did 3 months of training and rode the Epic with one set!!
  14. Rotor will wear down very quickly if it doesn't overheat and buckle first Certain mechanical disc systems as well as some entry level hydraulic systems come with these discs, it is pretty much a cost saving exercise. Bike companies also sometimes spec them as OEM equipment for the same reason. Causes alot of problems. Personally I run resin pads, as they perform much better in dry dusty conditions as they do not overheat as much, which causes vapourloc and loss of braking power. IMHO most people in SA are recommended metal pads because of influences of people reading UK magazines, where the conditions require the use of sintered pads all year round. What type of brakes do you have.
  15. Know Builders Warehouse stocks it and so would most builders merchants and hardware stores
  16. Except for the PRO Vibe handle bars where the bar is 31.8mm all the way through
  17. Epidermix 372 is pretty good and strong, and it doesn't create heat when curing and excess can be removed with a wet rag as opposed to solvents? Hope that helps!
  18. Depends on the type of frame and trainer. If your frame has alloy dropouts bonded to the carbon stays there is a risk that the bond can be undermined by the clamping of the axle in the traditional triangle frame trainer that does not allow the frame to flex. ELITE have specifically designed their range of CRONO trainers to allow the trainer to flex under load. Not only doe it minimize stress on the frame it also gives a more natural ride particularly for interval and sprint training.
