Unbelievable!! This suck big time!! Last week a car was stolen there and now this.

Thank you gents. I am sure that if I take that sort of carrier and modify it by inserting a type of pivot I will be able to fit it to a DS. It will make my ride a lot more pleasurable. The 12kg backpack just kills my lower back. I think the frame fit back are another excellent idea! But in cross wind I see some nastiness coming

The mail with the seeding on says that I still have to pay for the race eventhough I have a receipt for the payment after my entry. I spoke ot a mate of mine and he has the same issue. Anyone else have this problem?

This might be a really stupid question but I hope the vets can give me an answer. Why is everyone using a backpack and not a carrier/pannier? Surely there are carriers that fits to a DS bike and you don’t need to carry the weight on your back. Is it due to the amount of carrying the bike and you need to tie the bike to your backpack or what? I am looking to do some long distance traveling on the bike through similar rough terrain and I battle with the backpack, so was thinking of rather using a carrier and tying the backpack to it?

Does these rides still happen or were they only in the period leading up to the Epic?

I entered the race and booked camping at Sondela. After reading this, I am so happy I could not go. I agree that a race should be about the route and everything else just adds to the experience, so if the route was as bad as you say then the whole event must leave a sour after taste. Why would the waterpoints pack up after 2pm. Its actually the backmarkers that needs them most. Weird.

I spoke to CWC and they don’t have stock. Both the T2 & the T3 are out of stock at the suppliers as well and there is a 4 month waiting period fo the new T3 stock. Stock availability in SA is horrific.

Anyone maybe know of a shop that has a pair of Sidi T2 Tri Shoes in a size 45? I have tride Bethesda, Troi but no luck. I can get the Louis Garneau (from Cyclelab) and the Specialized Trivent Shoe (from FPC), but I would prefer the Sidi T2

I can not see why not. The pressure on the frame is the same as would be on the road so I think you a good to go. Just remember when you let a little stink one rip, the wind will not blow it away like on the road

I swim at base 3 in Olifantsfontein in warmer weather. “Warmer weather” being the key part to that sentence. I don’t even want to think about going in there this time of the year.

I have to agree with Super Mario. First get the proper bike fit. They will most likely be able to get you a perfect fit with only small changes (like seatpost and stem). I am 1.81 and the bike shop recommended a medium for me and after about 6 months I upgraded to a large and I have to say it fits me better. But remember that the large from one brand differs from the large from another brand.

I have found Cycle House in PTA to be the cheapest most of the time. They are worth a look

I went to the new shop on Saterday and I must say it does look nice. I like it when the bike shops have a big display of bikes with prices on. Good job!
