  4. As a 98% roadie (2% mtb / gravel bike) mine is the best safety device ever bought πŸ‘Œ
  5. awesome build - well done!
  6. The Pina will ride much nicer. Will be way stiffer and you will feel that power transfer / responsiveness much better on this frame. (Asymmetrical chain stays and seat tube). In the past I have owned both. If the Giant is not a SL model (their higher grade carbon layout) one cannot really compare these two frames. Giant is like a Toyota Corolla - some will consider it as a good thing - other not Sadly there is a little bit of a stigma to these Pinarello frames thanks to all the Chinarello's that were (and still do) floating around... As a hardcore roadie I would pick the Pina. Don't put too much value in mountain bikers advice on road bikes ...lol πŸ™ƒ some marketing bs on Pina below Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think2 - BikeRadar

  10. Some very nice $ystem$ here must say! I started with this very small UPS… ( Gizzu 8800Mah Mini UPS Dual DC)- just to keep my wifi up and running during load shedding. So Easy to install – plug the unit into the normal wall plug and it has two 12V outlets (one for my β€œfibre box” and one for router) After 2.5 hours of load shedding there was still like 75% battery left. R1099 at Takelot but saw price slightly increased since I bought it
  11. YouTube prediction : I just have this feeling Durainrider is going to blame disc brakes for Pogi's performance ... ............but everybody was on disc brakes πŸ˜‚ and then followed by Waynos...
  12. I would use Aramex global shopper with this. Thus : shipping is free (much cheaper) from China to for instance Singapore. Then from Singapore to South Africa it is Aramex to Aramex - no SA post office which is also a big win! Have done it a few times in the past. Once Aramex Singapore received the parcel they will issue you with a manifest (most of the time just a little bit more that our local 15% VAT - calculated on the amount in Rand's reflecting on your credit card.) With the app on my cellphone the movement of the parcel can easily be tracked. (once received by Aramex Singapore) Before that use tracking on Aliexpress Use also the app to pay the manifest amount due - very easy. Sometimes Aramex could request an invoice from you before issuing the manifest - As Aliexpress don't issue invoices , I send then a screen-print of my order and Credit card statement where the amount reflects in Rand, It has always been accepted like this in the past with no issues. My last parcel (during lock down) still took about 2 months but I used an address in Taiwan Please note : Aliexpress don't ship to an address in China PS : Please don't message me for more information as this is all I have to share - some additional online research can be done if more is required ...
  13. followed by new spokes day
  14. new complete hub day coming ...
  15. This is actually one of my biggest fears as well. A cracked frame on my newish well insured carbon disc brake bike and a bright spark at the insurance company that wants to fix it with a repair... Would love to hear your outcome at the end, - holding my thumbs
  16. So, on a high end road frame, the frame will still weights the same after the repair, and the repaired tube (seat stay for example) will still be hollow / same thickness on inside as before? I believe a good paint job on the outside will be good enough for most people. Last words before leaving the repair centre: "don't worry, the frame is actually stronger now, and won't break again on that specific place 🀫
  17. Are you an insurance assessors?πŸ™ƒ
  18. Maybe its only me, but I see a carbon framed that has been repaired in the same light as a code 3 second hand car... Second hand value takes a HUGE dip - and trying to sell it on Bikehub competing against unrepaired frames / bikes...eish good luck with this one. Insurances companies pushing their luck for cheaper options as times are tough ...but as mentioned that is a whole different topic on its own☹️
  19. Fun facts : 😎 105 is the reverse of 501, which came from Levi's Jeans, popular in the late 80s in Japan and matching the "workhorse reliable" nature of the 105. 105 reads as "SOI" or "501" when rotated 180 degrees. But SOI is not a Japanese nor English word, like Dura-Ace ( ***Duralumin alloy + Ace 'best') or Ultegra = ( ultimate" + Integrity) ***duralumin, strong, hard, lightweight alloy of aluminum, widely used in aircraft construction, discovered in 1906 and patented in 1909 by Alfred Wilm, a German metallurgist; it was originally made only at the company Dürener Metallwerke at Düren, Germany. (The name is a contraction of Dürener and aluminum.)
  20. 3.067kg smooth precise shifting on Suikerbossie
  21. The "grey area factors" that our mere mortals don't have access to measure accurately, will always improve... -aero -stiffness -comfort -steering sharpness - rolling resistance all measured in "seconds faster " and % on the other hand ..... is weight...easily measurable ..... This will be sugarcoated with marketing hype. ..."...at "x" speed ; "y" gradient the aero advantage outbalance the weight" Then some more marketing BS from internet influencers GCN paid promotions and many more ; internet jokers, with "real world tests". All of them have super human powers to ride at the same watts time and again and measure seconds differences 🀭 (but fun to watch if taken with a pinch of salt I admit) This new Madone looks awesome and I would purely buy it on looks, As I did with my current MadoneπŸ™ƒ
