  1. Usually these sleeves comes with glue and its bonding into the frame when pressed in. Basically, a permanent fix for a creaking or over / under sized missed lined BB?
  2. Maybe the “toughness” of Epic can be measured on the % of entrants completing it successfully. If 90% +(not sure – can be more?) of entrants (weekend warriors / corporate invites / ex Springbok forwards, local “celebrities” etc.) can complete it, the question arise : is it maybe more tough on the wallet than the legs…😜
  3. Thank you so much. Really appreciate 🙏

  5. thanks. 👍 is it possible to delete from the app's menu?
  6. I am trying to deactivate "Synchronized shift mode" on my Di2 12 speed 105 groupset. when go into the menu -- "Operation" option in the app the option is there but turns white with no response. Internet connection is fine. All batteries (shifters and Shimano battery fully charged). I have tried the following without success - Uninstall and reinstall the app (Android) - thus it is the newest version. - all firmware for shifters and derailleurs is up to date. - Shimano battery was disconnected for while and reconnected again. - groupset does connect - I deleted it and reconnected it with a "fresh" Bluetooth connection. / Phone restarted - Tried this without the app - not working 12-speed Di2 synchro shift LEDs Blue (2 seconds): Manual shift Flashing blue (2 times): Shift mode 1 Flashing blue (3 times): Shift mode 2 Groupset talks 100% through my phone to my Garmin device (gear indicator battery life etc.) Any advice will be highly appreciated 🙏 - (I was able to do it in the past.)
  7. On one of my builds (Caad X) I had "Pro" hydro to cable calipers. No modulation and did not impress me. The Avid BB7 I have is fantastic and outperform the above by far. The choice of lever also very important (In my experience even more important than the cable housing choice). I started using the Avid BB7 first with Sora shifters. A lot of flex. Appears the flex was in the shifters (plastic construction). Changed to Sram Red with a solid carbon construction. Difference was day and night. I even did one Swartberg Gran Fondo on them. Swartberg pas down.... excellent braking.
  8. I built my first monster cross on the thread Eldron started. That was before the Hub "crashed". Also a Giant XTC frame (aluminum) and Sora 8 speed STI shifters. Can be 11 to 12 years back. Here in Bloemfontein I was definitely the first guy with drop bars on gravel 🤣
  9. What will be the maximum limit spend to repair this bike for example at Solomons? So if the "op" [original poster] takes it to Solomons for a quote, where should he continue and above what amount should he walk away?
  10. I have 29 x 2.2 tyres fitted on my Revolt , but my rims are also not standard. (swoped and converted my mtb wheels from my non boost Scalpel to use on my gravel bike. - so my internal width of rim is a little bit wider than the stock wheels)
  11. Tariffs are looming...🤪 And a possible VAT increase...
  12. My Revolt also came with this FSA crank. I replaced it with a GRX crank. Fun fact: this crank weights 1071 g...👀...without bb. It has a 19mm spindle. So if you want to change the crank, you also going to need a 24mm bb.
  13. Very nice And it is new...👌 definitely one of the better aluminum options in my view
  14. this bike ticks all the boxes for me - carbon frame - carbon wheels - electronic shifting - fitted with 50mm tires - very well priced it above points taken into account. This is actually my size...😂 but really cannot justify another bike! So, if the budget is R30K (and you are size XL) this can be considered (if you still have both your kidneys....) 15. Don't fall in the trap of a heavy alloy non compliant frame. Go carbon from the start. Eventually we all end up with a carbon frames...🙃 Monster bikes are fun. I had a few and still have one fitted with a Lefty (29 " carbon Giant XTC frame) but I enjoy my gravel bike much more. Ps. You don't buy a monster bike. You build it your self...with the hardtail you have that nobody wants to buy .... My vote goes for a carbon gravel bike and even second hand if budget does not allow new
  16. Here a photo with my Giant Revolt fitted with Vredestein Black panther 29 x 2.2 mtb tires. Eye opener for me to never judge a Tyre only on thread pattern but also rubber compound. These roll faster than my Panaracer Gravel king SS that looks like a slick tire 🤷‍♂️ - yes, the clearance is enough. - No there is no rubbing against the frame or stays. - yes, I rode them in muddy conditions without any issues 😎
  17. Just for context. Ultegra 6500 release date was 1997. Therefore we look at road bike that can be anything between 25 to 28 years old. My advice would be rather try sell these bikes on Facebook market place / Gumtree in your region / neighborhood to avoid shipping cost / courier cost. Here's my estimate values for which I will probably flamed for. Kids bike R500- R700 Mtb : R1500 Road bike : R1500 - R2000 If stored that long, most probably all will need new tyres tubes cable etc Rust might also be a concern. Good luck.
  18. Very impressive 👏
  19. my response: if you not taking it, I would be interested, please send details ....
  20. Tariff wars... if you levy Tariffs on our goods we will levy Tariffs on yours goods... Looks like world War 3 might start as a Tariff war...🙃 Europe already fired back to to USA with proposed tariffs on steal imports from USA...
  21. To my understanding tariffs are levied on Exports from SA or any other foreign country listed on uncle Trumps' list on goods and products on USA side, to protect the USA economy and make their own products more affordable. Thus maybe Exports from USA will not be affected...for now.....
  22. Is Zwift considered a product " software " delivered/ "exported" from USA to the rest of the world? In short: will we see same "tarifs" absorbed in the subscription price?
  23. Just got these from China. Crazy light for a 50mm tire. Looking forward to test them. Not sure how durable they will be🙃
  24. The best is once you found a cheap product that works well, just to keep it to yourself and not raving about it on the internet. Once “they” realised the product works actually too good, it disappears from the market…Be cautious guys, “they” are everywhere…😜
