Thanks. I think this is good advice for me. Keep moving as you are not covering ground while hanging around at the waterpoints. Once off the bike, I do tend to linger a bit. It has also been suggested to rather rely on your own packed nutrition than too heavily on what the waterpoints have to offer. So waterpoints will be a quick reload and off you go again.

Entered. My first 100miler! Excited about it but also slightly bekarking myself. I have ridden the 50miler twice and both times the thought that it was only the half distance and I wish I still had another 50miles to go never crossed my mind.

Really well done guys. I wasn't in a position to assist yesterday, however I now made a contribution towards an excellent cause and in lieu of the inspirational work you guys did yesterday.

Really enjoying the comfort of the 155 saddle. I have two now, probably going onto the 3rd soon. My only gripe is the detail on the front of the saddle. This pic is of a brand new saddle after a 2day mtb event. Do the little thingies actually do anything? If not I think the saddle would be better without them as when they rub off, it doesn't look great.

And Stanford MTB Classic. So my little bicycle trophy thingy will be missing piece #2. I'm not keen on buying and having the piece if I didn't even ride the event. Feels a bit like e-biking.

First time at this event. Looking forward to it!

Ah, Vissies. What memories. Will never forget: at a very hot time of the day, almost at the top, assuming it was a girlfriend who had not been told the minor details of the hill(s) at the end of the race, was freaking out at her boyfriend, who at that time was pushing both bikes already. He then told her, mid-tirade, she shouldn't walk with road shoes on at which point she proceeded to take one off and throw it at him. I rather held back on informing her that she should save something for Odendaal.

I saw an Oomie riding with a bleeding leg and without his helmet on. Not sure which group, was dropped from 2A before we got out of Val De Vie. Edit: he should not have been riding like that, but from the looks of things, I don't think anyone was going to stop him at that stage.

Ordered the endurance bar yesterday 10:30, delivered to my door today 08:30. Great stuff! Now can't wait to try the bar out. It is a thing of beauty.

Enjoy this event so much i did the trail run on the friday too. Made it over the dam crossing on both days. Now a bit of a pro. Hehe. Great event. Will be there next year again. Thanks STBB and everyone involved
