Not quite ... you have to take the cost over the days you were in CPT .. for me I was in CPT 4 days, in which I had 2 local training rides, expo visit, local bicycles shop, Ciovita visit (yes another bill of R4900 as there was 20% discount on the Friday), visit some old friends, drove around CPT, so overall my trip including the CTCT was R3500 per day.

Overall, organisation was great, however as can seen all these marshals, JMPD officers are coming at a cost and this solely depends on the amount of entries for the race.

I believe the decline in road racing is also due to the following reasons: -Covid brought virtual training to the next level, making it easier and safer to train in the luxury of your home. -More options for cyclist in racing, i.e. MTB (there has been an event Attakwas Sat and a local in JHB), Gravel events -State of the roads (potholes, I wrote a carbon rear rim off last week, min cost to replace - R15k) -Safety aspect training alone on the road -Clubs organising races vs promotion companies organising races (direct impact on cost of races)

If Gauteng Cycling is representing cyclists, should they not put pressure on Hectic Promotions to refund the cyclists or at least suspend HP as an event organizer until there is satisfactorily resolution?

Just a thought, where is the daily license fee of R50 going to CSA? Should CSA not refund those R50 to cyclists?
