Yes, the brakes aren't all that. I have a set and as much as they look cool, they don't work as well as they should. Having said that I can't complain about the machining, seems well made.

I don't know about beacons, then they become a safety hazard... Also, I don't know if following the hard line of DQ'ing will help because it becomes like a "Devil" race, gutter them till the cross the line and they are out! Yes, saw all the foreigners riding without helmets today... Also saw OB motor pacing on the freeway without a helmet behind what looked like a Vito doing 80km/h in the slow lane and he was gesturing wildly at the driver to go faster!!!
