  1. R500 fine if the carrier has no plate and obstructs the view to the plate on the car. R2000 fine for having different plates on car and rack.
  2. I see entries for this event will be opening from next month. I'd like to get in touch with other riders from the Cape Town area that are also planning on doing this event, to maybe share logistics and arrangements, please. I'm willing to drive up with my Fortuner and have room for 4 people and 3 bikes.
  3. Aag really not this shite again pls
  4. DT Swiss Tricon
  5. I ride 32:18 rigid 29er, frustrating as hell on the tar road flats but nice on the gravel hills
  6. Thx for this. Still curious what ratios you guys run?
  7. What gear ratios do most of you use? I run a 32 chainring front, and vary the sprocket 16 or 18. With 16 i find some climbing just too tough, but with the 18 again the climbing is fine but then i spin out on a flat road. .
  8. 1620 meters ascent
  9. Forget about police (no help) and forget about worrying about the dog (not its fault) Solution: Have an attorney friend issue a letter demanding payment for the damages within say 7 days, and which threatens with further legal action if he fails to do so, which will aso be for his cost. This often scares most people into responding, but if it doesn't, its up to you to decide if you feel it is worth intrducing further legal action.
  10. Most of the bike shops in the Northern suburbs are good. I've tried them all. For my personally i prefer the smaller shops where you can get personal interaction with firstly the mechanic, and then the guys walking the floor. Craig and the guys at Cycle Lab in Tygervalley have always been friendly and helpful and the mechanics know my bike inside out, which is key to me. You can source your equipment and parts anywhere or even online but personal interaction, especially if the guys know your bike's history and your name, outweighs it all.
  11. I saw a rider skip a peak traffic robot at 17:15 at Willowbridge. I felt like climbing out and moering him, he just shrugged me off. No respect for the road at all. No sympathy from my side if he gets knocked over.
  12. When and where?
  13. LX = entry level, Then XT, and XTR = top of range The difference is mainly in weight and price
  14. Amazing, what is it?
  15. Thx, Yip, our local..
  16. This is amazing stuff. Makes you want to break that friggin tik head's legs by just looking at him with that expensive Spez not belonging to him. jey500 is a Hero and should have a place in the Hub hall of fame if there ever was such a place. Give that man a Bells. Rough Rider - how was the bike stolen?
  17. Don't have one but aslo checked it out and read the reviews on the web. Looks great to me and I'm considering a purchase. The iphone cam is awesome.
  18. Hey Sniffie. I had a discectomy 6 weeks ago. How long after your discectomy could you get back to riding your bike, and is it uncomfortable? Same with running? Thanks
  19. Thanks a mil, that sounds fun, will try it in the new year when I move to DV.
  20. Hey Disylizzy, How far and how long is the cycle between Durbanville and Century City?
  21. Thanks, SteveS
  22. This is what I put together lately, from parts and stuff sourced all over. Rigid, SS commuter mtb. Will only be able to start riding her to work in the new year when I am fully recovered from spinal surgery. Some pics of the final assembly today.
