  1. Trail bike ? Big chap ? Hard tail ?? Maybe consider a dual suspension ??
  2. Gaints are great at the price they go for. Durable too with good grip. Make sure that the pins are not part of the pedal but are removable and adjustable. They have a lot more grip than the ones where the "pins" are molded in.
  3. Apparently a cyclist was seriously injured near the graveyard when a vehicle decided to pass a row of cars waiting for another car to turn right and things went horribly wrong. Be careful out there And if you are you are not in control. Idiots are.
  4. This ^^^^^ Just reiterating (or should I say commenting)
  5. Strava comes to mind ?!
  6. Bleed the system 1st or check for air in the system.
  7. Watched it for 3 seconds
  8. And then !!! Don't forget to service your pedals. Quick easy job and if done can save having to replace parts. Most neglected part on your bike.
  9. Keep in mind that it is better to have a frame that is slightly too big than one slightly too small. Also keep in mind that the sizes vary according to the manufacturer - granted not by much.
  10. Tokai should be fine for tomorrow
  11. Hi and welcome !!! How tall are you and what is your inseam measurement? Bike size is VERY important and you do not want to get it wrong. How did you come to the conclusion that you need a small? (Male or female?)
  12. Best bet is paraffin and one up from that if you can get it is jetA (aviation fuel) What's also nice about it is that you can use it over and over as the gunk settles on the bottom and you just decant. The real question is what do you use to lube ??? - but we won't go there !!!
  13. Dug his own hole. Spread himself too thin. Having a blast. (OK !! flame me) (Oh lighten up !!)
  14. Nope you need to measure it not about it. Don't have to remove it. If it is such a good fork (don't dispute it) do you need to replace it? Or do you have the itch? What kind of riding do you do and what bike is it fitted to?
  15. Yes they are good and the system works well But - it is an expensive system and you basically have to use their screws - expensive. Not that great in plywood - chipboard and mdf. All the rage. (good marketing)

Looks interesting think I may join up. How long have you been on it and what is your "handle" (that goes back 45yrs)?
  17. Couple of pictures may help - rear drive train - front drive train - front shock/fork - brakes and maybe rear shock. Pic of label near bottom of bottom bracket.
  18. Hack points
  19. I could not contain myself last week. Guy on an ebike tries to jump a rock (small) at the start of Missing Link (Camps Bay) got it all wrong and grabbed a handful of the front brake and well no need to go further. I instinctively burst out laughing - I swear I could not help it and did not do it on purpose and it was funny though. It all ended well though. He did see the funny part of it too.
  20. Does this fred still exist? Why was it not effected during initial covid?
  21. Will there be XC races again
  22. What - you went through 5 ladies before you were happy ??? To OP I discovered about six months ago that twisting the saddle ever so slightly either to the left or right can make a difference to one's comfort. We like to think that everything at our seat end is all symmetrical but it is not. I had tried many saddles before accidentally discovering that a twist in the saddle made it more comfortable. ( I twisted it away from the sore side and by about 3 degrees )
  23. Don't know if this is such a great idea - knowing SanParks they may not like this and make some changes. Best to sort of keep it low key - always managed to get enough guys just in general threads.
  24. Aaah but it needs to be TWO pops per tyre. What are you using to inflate the tyre??
