The Giant PR-2 wheels are heavy but basically known to be bomb proof. You will notice the difference with lighter wheels but if you are heavy you may have a problem getting suitable wheels.
There are many good helmets priced at under R1000. And they are safe !!! Higher price does not equal better quality. Just make sure it has an ANSI certification sticker. What is important is PROPER FIT. Also make sure it is comfortable. Don't let fashion catch you!!
Sew some velcro on your chest (on top). Anywhere else is superfluous. Perpetrators use the element of surprise and you will be surprised so just leave your gun at home - much safer.
Just be aware that you have to use specific srews - the jig itself may not be that expensive but oh my the screws are another story. AND you need an assortment of screws. I use loose tenons to build beds but you need some tools for that. Have a look on YouTube
The offer to extend the time on your Activity Card from TMNP ends at the end of August. You have till Monday 31. You need to go to the Tokai office. All you need to take is your present card. Takes 5 mins max. Btw that goes for all levels of activity cards.
Don't get the gravel bike. You will be disappointed. You have to have a certain mindset to ride a gravel bike. I would get a gravel bike but only as my 3rd bike.
