  1. What a terrible "welcome". As patriotic as I am, this sucks!!! BIG TIME.
  2. All is answered here: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5699811
  3. Or an iPad or Kindle - you can get books and mags on the iPad!!
  4. Yeah RIGHT. So if LeMond had this, why has he kept it under lock and key for 6 years? LeMond you are completely wrecking your reputation right along with trying to screw the Greatest Champion cycling has ever seen.
  5. Awesome. This should be the norm though - you find something, you hand it in. It's not yours. Great to see people coming around!! I hope you get it fixed.
  6. One of these days the computer will say that you're dead, and no-one will believe that you're not even if you're there in person. http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/70-000-living-dead-on-eNaTIS-20100808 Imagine if you needed a bicycle license too!?!?!
  7. I was gob-smacked when I saw tech-journalist Simon Dingle post this on Twitter this morning. "Know what I want? A fully electric car so I can sneak up on cyclists and then blat them with my hooter. Oh man. What a dream." His Twitter handle is @simondingle Give him what he deserves. Idiot!!
  8. http://www.sport24.co.za/OtherSport/Cycling/Cycling-SA-unveils-2020-vision-20100803 Cycling SA today released the above and the "Vision 2020" that includes the Tour of South Africa to be launched later this year and take place early 2011. To be honest it's the same publicity hub-hub, with enough buzz words in the press release without ANY real goals / objectives. Is this going to make any difference at all? Watch this space I guess.
  9. This is insane - why not just close the event entries completely and make it a private, "by invitation only" event. If it has to remain a "public entry" event, then allow only defending champs to enter in consecutive years. That way more people will have an opportunity to race it. This means that if rode in 2009, and didn't win your category (or you're not an "elite" rider, you can only enter again in 2011. Pffffft.
  10. This is the second thread with exactly the same theme posted today. Also look under the post titled "riding partners" I'd love to ride tomorrow, but leaving for Kinetic AR mid-morning.
  11. Hey, I'm also in Parkhurst. Let's get in touch. And with Dirtbreath there could be 3.... PM me. My mail address is also on my profile.

  13. I must agree that the quality of the pics have definitely gotten worse over the last couple of years! Getting them in the post is how it was done "in the old days". I completely forgot about them one year and the buggers almost blacklisted me :-( Of course it was my fault, but not a great way to run a business and / or build relationships.
  14. I see the pictures are also no longer on the locked thread. Where can we view them now?

    SA's doping

While we can't (and I don't) condone doping, I think it's grossly unfair to "encourage" a sponsor to pull out of the sport we all love. It's their money that allows all of us to race. NCR: Vodacom have already announced that they will look to cut sponsorship by several million rand next year as their margins shrink due to regulation. MTN will follow suit I'm sure.
  16. Cause you gotta eat before the race and you can't leave *it* in the car.
  17. LMAO I get weekly e-mails from the MTB night ride group in Irene. E-mail header: "Dark and Dirty". How much cr@p did I get from my missus????
  18. Here is some perspective. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703612804575222580214035638.html?mod=WSJ_hp_editorsPicks
  19. So does anyone have a copy of the picture to post here? Would be really interesting to see if she appears to be aware of the camera and the fact that a picture was taken. If she knew a photo was taken, it would only have been pro-active and prudent to ask the photographer what he intended doing with the photo - if she's such a celeb, surely she could have taken prohibitive action. Oh yes, but then she would not be able to claim 500 000 for work that she never did. Gravy train, graft, it's all the same.
  20. Wolffm, you're totally right! This is a syndicate that is carefully managed by someone in the bike business. These thugs know what bikes to take. They must have an offset point somewhere cause they are sure as hell not selling the bikes, neither are they riding them to work at the mine - or wherever these oxygen thieves work. OK I lie, they just lie around doing jack and stealing our bikes!!
  21. Your first mistake to try something new on race day. Always try new bits and bobs in training first. This will psychologically prepare you for racing conditions with the equipment. Biggest drawback of the disc is that it is not great in cross winds. Can't see that cadence will influence the performance of the wheel. Speed maybe.
  22. The REAL tragedy here is the failure of the police to protect us, the tax-paying citizens of this country. I reckon we should all just withold our taxes. Pay them into the trust account of an attorney. THAT will get the idiots running the country to realise that they can't manage the place without us.
