  1. The PYGA is the only 29er in the orange colour. Sram Carbon cranks with the Race Face rubber end protectors, XTR trail pedals. Thomson setback post and 70mm zero rise stem, Easton EC70 685mm flat carbon bar and ESI black chunky grips. Sob
  2. Thanks for all the support.
  3. Thanks. Constantia area. Just got the Pyga and haven't ridden it yet due to injury.
  4. My PYGA and my son's One One were stolen on Sunday night from my garage in Southern suburbs, Cape Town. I bought the PYGA as Mark Hopkins' demo, so it's unique. It's the metallic burnt orange One Ten 29er dual sus (same colour as the 120 650B) that appeared on all the magazine covers. Large, spec'd with black Reba RLTi fork set at 140mm, XO/X9, Elixir R brakes and Hope/Arch wheels, Thomson stem, post and carbon flat bar, and black/red Gobi saddle. Onza/Rtichie tyres. Also Revolution Cycles stay guard and sticker. The On One is a medium matt black carbon 456 hardtail with no stickers, all XT, including the wheels and dual control shifters/brakes, Black/red Reba Race fork with poplock, FSA bar/stem/post, WTB saddle and distinctive glow in the dark Oury rubber grips, and Maxxis MiMo tyres. Both kind of unique bikes, so please keep a look out. The police are onto it but info gratefully received. Gutted.
  5. I can't believe thiis thread got to 30 pages on coffee machines. I need to get a machine one for my missus for xmas. Have decided on specs: Auto bean grinder, not pods Milk frother, either a steam jet or auto Max 10K Jura, sprada or seaco Will be used for ca. 4 cups a day I reckon There is clearly some knowledge on here. Can anyone who has been through this recently offer recommendations, Which one to get? Gravitating towards the Jura ENA 9 one-touch at the moment...
  6. It will also wander a bit more on steep uphills.
  7. Thanks Divernick. Yep, it has disc tabs too at the back, but thought the v-brakes might be lighter/cheaper/more unique. Probably not.
  8. I have a Giant XTC carbon 26 frame, plus Fox fork, bar/stem/post/seat and thinking of building a SS, or even a 1x10. Can I use a spare 105 road crank as a single ring on this - will it be wide enough not to catch on seat stays? Also frame has v-brake bosses, but fork has not - any thoughts on v-brakes rear, and disc up front?
  9. I bet it's heavier than your PYGA!
  10. Great frame, good components and price, but you should upgrade to an air fork, and wheels. Spend a bit more for a Reba or Fox fork and better wheels as upgrades can be expensive.
  11. I agree with most here, you will struggle up Suikerbossie after 90km with a 42 unless you are a sub-3er. This doesn't make sense - granny chain rings are pretty cheap - you could just get the 39 chain ring seperately and change it for 300 bucks.
  12. How about a light 29er hardiial, particularly a carbon one? You can ride anywhere offroad, but with slicks and bar-ends will be almost as fast as a road bike - maybe get an extra wheelset with slicks. Will bust your budget 'though, but you might never need that second bike.
  13. Thanks a lot Kandui, this is really helpful.
  14. Thanks for tips/help guys. I will give it a go and let you know if i survive.
  15. Thanks alot, but not sure I can co-ordinate well enough in the morning to meet up with a group. It's reassuring that others are doing it 'though.
  16. There hasn't been much comment on here for a while, or any recent reported incidents on Table Mountain? Has the security situation improved? I'm thinking of commuting into town via Rhodes Mem and Table Mountain trails from southern suburbs. In about 7am and back about 6pm, and on my own. Is this wise?
  17. Enduren is very clean - no artificial additives. Add fruit juice to it for taste, my kids like it. http://www.enduren.co.za/
  18. I think the recovery stuff is more imosrtant than energy drinks/gels/bars during your ride? Unless your are out for more than 3 hours water is good enough to take with you on training rides- the energy stuff just makes you fat? Thoughts on this?
  19. Eat while you are on the bike, every 20 mins or so, and immediately afterwards. Decent food if you can. Peanut butter and honey sarnies are good, and add extra protein afterwards, eggs, biltong etc.
  20. Also check the top part of the steerer tube and inside of the stem clamp is grease-free.
  21. http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/FRTITRKALURS/titus-rockstar-29er-frame-and-monarch-shock
  22. One On in the UK have this for GBP 750 ex VAT, with GBP 45 shipping to SA. Add SA VAT and you could get this delivered here for less than ZAR 10,500. Not bad.
  23. Mtb stems are usually around 41 mm and don't vary much (up to around 45mm for DH stems), but you need the stem (or top spacer) about 3mm above the top of the steerer for the top cap bolt to properly grip the star nut. You should allow for at least 20mm of spacers for adjustment, preferably up to 40mm. You can then play around with the height (spacers above or below stem) until you find the perfect height for you and cut to fit. For this bike you need a steerer at the very least 160mm, but wouldn't recommend less than 180mm, and preferably 200mm.
  24. I need a tow bar (detachable), and none of the main manufacturers seem to make one specifically for my car. I'm sure I can get one to fit but can anyone recommend a fitting outfit? Towbars Cape at N1 City seem to come up - are they any good? Cheers.
