  2. Jip delamination...... Gooi weg pappie en kry maar nuwes.
  3. I had one in the lab recently for some custom paintwork. Decent build quality and pretty respectable weight for a large frame at 1073gr. Definitely one of the better Chinese carbon frames.

  11. Hacksaw and lots of patience is the only remedy. Been discussed plenty of times on here.
  12. Some do have a seal of some sort as per this Cane Creek jobbie. Im refering to the blue rubber seal around the crown race http://www.bikerumor.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Cane-Creek-Forty-conversion-bottom.jpg
  13. Lol atleast your gap is smaller than this guy's gap http://cdn.medindia.net/afp/images/Lifestyle-SAfrica-fashion-teeth-123442.jpg
  14. Lol i still dont agree but ok its Friday and ill let you have this one
  15. Nope.
  16. Remember I said the cranks are better and I will keep to that statement. I have redone a few xx cranks which forced the removal of the original paintwork on them and to be quite honest the carbon work underneath the paint is shocking.
  17. It allows for the spider to be changed to different pcd's where as the XX crank has a fixed 120bcd spider. Also the XO cranks are exactly the same as the XX1 cranks other than the different labels on them. So as a fact if you put a XX1 spider on your XO crank you basically have a XX1 crankset.
  18. I wouldnt waste my money if it was me. There will be little gain other than bragging rights and IMHO the XO crank is a much better crank than the XX one. But thats just my 2c.
  19. Whatsapp laaiti
  20. Screw ride before you buy. Just go ahead and get one. You know you want to But I know how you feel. I WANT!!!! Will settle for a double scoop thanks
  21. Sorry my bad. Got them mixed up again but yeah the one with the 1 x 11 and bluto fork will be in the region of R19k and the rigid with 2 x 10 in the R13k region. Still good prices IMHO.
  22. Double scoop will be in the region of R19k unofficially from a reliable source. The scoop will be more towards the R13k mark.
  23. OEM finishes are nothing other than normal 1k base coats and 2k clears. Unless the bicycle industry has some secret lab stowed away somewhere in china/Taiwan in a secure bunker where they develop scratch and chip free coatings that we don't know about... The theory that the OEM paints get "baked on", well it doesn't get baked on, it gets sprayed on and in some cases does go into an "oven" to cure. In most cases where a frame is repainted the painter does not always have access to this facility hence leaving the paint to dry over night etc. Dry does not mean it is fully cured so if you do get your frame back say 2 days after its been painted then yes it will be soft as the paint has not had sufficient time to cure. To us that paint but dont have access to baking ovens (i do sometimes use my wife's oven on smaller parts ) there is an alternative in the form of infrared curing lamps. Expensive but well worth the money. In all my years of painting, not just bikes or frames but cars as well, if the preparation is not done properly then yes your job will chip and scratch easier than OEM finishes. Also inferior (cheap) paints are to be avoided as they just dont hold up. As for a DIY clearcoat the answer is simple. Unless you have a spraygun and compressor then no. Rattecan clearcoat just wont cut it as its so thinned down it will offer little to no protection no matter how many coats you spray on.
  24. If you have one of the removable spider Sram cranks like X9,XO or XX1 you can swop the spider out for a 104bcd spider or get a direct mount chainring.
