  1. you know what... that just makes me feel sick.
  2. glad to hear barend is ok. its a shocking thing and even more shocking that probably nothing will come of it and it will all be denied. just glad he is ok.
  3. i got a fizik arione seat and have never had a sore ass since the minute i climbed onto it. so i dont think you have a problem with that saddle. otherwise it depends how ofteb you ride and for how long, hours in the saddle count, so just guessing but 2 weeks or so. but for the arione, more like a day.
  4. hmm... not a medal as such but a yellow jersey from the tour de france no there are a few i dont have but want.
  5. What about the new TCR1 or TCR0. i think they come most of the time with campy and campy wheels. nice bike i must say. prob cause i ride one. down 3000km on my campy proton wheels and have not had a broken spoke or had to straighten them once. they still perfectly true. so def go with campy wheels rather and groupset, well thats what i suggest. but hey my opinion might be biased. good luck tho.
  6. Hmm... lets see... On the bike i like to listen to a bit of everything. From cascada to dire straits. but mostly dance, trance to keep the intense pace going. or 3 Doors Down for those long lonely rides.
  7. Hmm, i'm in, I'll take the lie detector test! And even on a regular basis. not a bad idea! for those of us that hate needles!no.one.knows2006-09-29 07:21:11

  9. Well well done sonic!! awesome stuff! the elite's next year better watch out! Sonic will be there and then GAME OVER! congrats again. see ya soon!
  10. Hey daveS. dont worry bout taking one over with you, just bring the new one back. A. they wont notice you had one with you on the way out and, B. its a recreational item (for personal use) and they will have a hard time trying to prove you bought it outside SA, so just dont declare it. im here in eng at the moment and bought i new bike while i was here, when i return i dont intend to declare it. so i wouldn't worry about it! but have an awesome trip tho!
  11. yeah cause there is a new chip thats come out for the british army and they use it fir scout trips and stuff, they are activated by the user when needed and can be found via GPS. so whe you take out that insurance, you could get one of these and when you get a pucnture you push it and they can pick you out and come change it for you! yeah now all we need to do is find and adventure capitalist willing to fund this. or a company willing to do it!
  12. there should be a company who offers puncture repairs or tubes to cyclists during races. should have a couple of quads with boxes of tubes on back who follow groups out and if puncture happens they change it and you on your way and you pay later! how cool would that be? i rate someone should do that?
  13. just wondering, if traffic was backed-up surely someone saw something!
  14. hey epoh, try using the pilates ball with three particular exercises i used with a physio to straighten my hips and strengthen my core to get better posture and general strength: 1. lie on your back, put the ball btwn your feet and hold, then raise up as high as poss, then crunch up and grab ball with hands and take back down in hands to lying poss again, then reverse back to feet and thats one! do 5sets of 5 to start. 2. lie on back, take ball in feet again and raise up at top, rotate hips and ball to left to right, but not right to ground, just above, and then back and thats one! same 5sets of 5 to start. 3. lastly, lie on stomach on top of ball and start by just lifting alternate hand and leg at same time, and hold for 3secs. alternate and when have progressed you should be able to lie stretched out with arms and legs all up of ground! enjoy! cause they are flipping hard!no.one.knows2006-09-06 09:39:46
  15. so crux, when you buying a new mtb bike? I think you owe it to yourself to get a new one!
  16. i can see, come race day for the kiddies, these two (sonic and jason) are gonna end up jumping on the little ones bikes and ripping round the course! fighting for the first place! only to be out done by a little girl on a pink bike with her hair in pig tails! ha ha ha ha! gotta bring my camera and tape you guys racing head-to-head!no.one.knows2006-09-06 05:05:24
  17. yeah the little little kiddies one is up to 6yrs of age and then there is the slightly older one for 6-10yrs i think, which goes around the actual track! the entries normally open two weeks before the actual event! i love to wacth the kiddies race! its great fun to see the pure grit and determination on their faces, tongue hanging out, giving 110% all the time! and purely just for the fun of it! thats what cycling is about hey?
  18. hmm nice wheels. WAY to expensive! and heavier than the wheels i ride with so they can keep them!
  19. the colour question on the entry form is merely a statistics question. they use the info to compare how many people of each colour take part. that all. i dont think and hope its not gonna become a racist defined sport! everybody is entitled to compete! regardless of race.
  20. hey chrispy. why nt get yourself some elite bottle cages, come in black plastic, look exactly the same as the carbon cages and weigh exactly the same and lighter then some others. they are nice looking, flexible, durable and cost less! good luck! here's a uk site where you can check it out! http://www.cyclexpress.co.uk/products/Patao_74_carbon_effect_bottle_cage.aspxno.one.knows2006-09-04 05:51:31
  21. ok entered late last nite so, YAY, i will be doing it after all! will be my third! missed two thru injury!
  22. everyone makes it fun! from the events organisers, promotions people, authorities and all the riders!! its like a big chain, without a link it breaks apart
  23. would love to do the argus next year! if i could only get onto the website at least! this is painful!
  24. true true! yeah would be great if more races could have full road closure or have sections that the riders are on at that time, closed as they enter that section and then re-opened once they are trough. this way it keeps us cyclists safe and the general motoring public (those who have patience) happy! therefore you stay safe, can ride on any side of the road and stay clean I think we should vote for this!
  25. hey afreek you know what i say... you only get hit by an oncoming car once! if it happens more than once then you are unlucky and stupid! i choose life and the left hand side of the road!
