  1. The Zero 650 C in action at the Berg and Bush.
  2. Made it up, it was a grind though. Very rewarding when all the geared boys were walking or standing. For the 2 day obviously. Maybe consider a 32/19 for day 1 if you want to make it up. With 3 tree hill climb before that you might be better off looking after the legs and change to the 32/18 or 32/17 for day 2. It is flat except for the river crossing to mikes and most of it is district road. Good luck, I'm happy to spin a little more on the flats and ride the bumpy stuff than walk the climbs and fly on the flat.

    Berg and Bush 2013

Is it really important whether it was 32 or 42.0258 degrees? It was moerse hot, way hotter then other races I have done in SA. Incl. sabie, Barberton, VG and the berg wind did not help. Bottom line, great race and the water points were well stocked and the riders are ultimately responsible for their well being on the bike. The org. within reason can provide support, they did exceptionally well. Rouxtjie and JC, way more fun going down Pofadder. You boys would have smashed that trail up. If you ride up some bodies arse up Mikes and expect not to be impede you are at fault. Give them space and you will make it. We went up with 4 teams together and 2 riders had to get off, everybody else made it without an issue. Nobody got away and we continued to ride together. I'm just grumpy that I'm not doing the Trek and 2 day as well.

It is probably from the increased use and the Joberg2c riders going up it. That will cause a smoother line. Believe me, going up ain't as fun as going down.

Hi Leon, What would you like them for?

    Berg and Bush 2013

Thanks Rouxtjie, it was a tough dice with my old paddling nemesis. The missus was super strong. Attacked hard with 15 to go on day 3 and almost left me behind. She rode the Pyga Zero 650 C for the race and I have never seen her descend like that before.
  7. I did it last year on using 32x18 and was able to ride everything. The hands and arms took more gas then the legs on the rigid. I would normally do the flatter GP races on 32x15 to give you an idea of where I am.
  8. Did you upset somebody?
  9. Not when you hit it at 50kph while pulling a manual.
  10. Wendell, Will the route be the same as that for BS mem?
  11. Jumping on late here. Enjoy boys, I going skiing there often and it is unreal. Would love to go in summer sometime to ride. The most unbelievable Mountains all over the place.
  12. Thanks for a great route and well run event.

    Rapha Festive 500

Soft. FRIB tomorrow. 5:45 dunkeld or 6:30 broadacres
  16. Also battling with the site
  17. The video guys are big shot media. Doug and Dave are the gipuys that do the filming and editing. Christie, great shots. FRIB
  18. There will be a couple of us
  19. Top class event. Very impressed with the organisors and the race in general. Legs are blown from the single speeding, but the body is more buggered from the rigid fork.
  20. Having read through Clive's response, at no point does he accept responsibility for the issues, rather passing blame on to others. The farmers workers, the marshal etc. as the race organizer the buck stops with him. Stand up Clive and admit you did not put the effort in to this race as it required. You are responsible for the mistakes, lets add to it your lead out vehicle did not know where to go, the route had not been cleared, there was ltd marking, most of the marshals were just standing around. The signage that was in place was often difficult to see or so old it was hard to recognize it for what it was. Totally disorganized. More's the pity because a large section of the route is good riding. Not coming back. Ever.
  21. Not the first time that this race has been a stuff up I believe. I hope that the new sponsors are aware of the problems.
  22. Ask them to donate your entry to Qhubeka
  23. The late start did not help. Did not realise the water points ran out of water. Not good
  24. Agree. What a joke. Done it twice and both times there have been route issues. I have asked that they donate our entries, we were 4 riders, to Qhubeka as a token of goodwill for the bad organization.
