  1. Do you sweat a healthy amount when you are out riding and it's that hot? First thought I had was that it could have something to do with your body's ability to thermo-regulate itself, almost like trying to do vigorous exercise with the flu...
  2. Horrible day my side too. The race was great, my legs started cramping quite bad in the last 15km to get to the finish. Then I get to my car and see someone jammed a screwdriver into my passenger door in an attempt to get into my car. Now I have to spend my whole week dealing with insurance and police case numbers and excess payments on insurance claims.
  3. Last year I just followed the other cars on the N1 at 6am with bikes on the back
  4. I'm excited for the race on Saturday. I just wish they would come up with a better system of collecting your race numbers. Impossible for me to get to either Rondebosch or Stellies during working hours or before 6pm, I have to ask my mom
  5. I'll look into that for my own knowledge. I believe I still get my R500 discount, but my guess there would be because I have been a member for much longer and you're only looking to join now. 25% off gym really is nothing and Multiply are shooting themselves in the foot with that. I believe with Discovery one can get free gym still.
  6. Depending on which Virgin Active club you join, you can get a maximum of R500 off your monthly gym based on a rolling average of 12 visits per month over a 3 month rolling period. So let's say you take national membership it comes down to approximately R980pm - R500 = R480 you are liable for. If you gym at one of the cheaper clubs your membership can potentially be "free".
  7. I thought tandems all started together in the same group?
  8. Eish, doesn't sound too great. What happenned? I also came over my handlebars on the singletrack with my front wheel banging into a big rock at low speed... landed safely and felt fine only to discover on Sunday eve that my left ankle is the size of a small soccer ball
  9. I'm in 3B starting 07:26 Down from 2F last year. I guess that's the price you pay for not doing any seeding events
  10. Okay, so I still haven't received any Safe Dayz yet, despite trying to log it. Can you guys please confirm which App you are using to access Safe Dayz? I downloaded the Momentum Short-term Client App and used the Safe Dayz and Safe Tracking features on there. From about Monday morning I could no longer access the App for some reason. So this morning I deleted and tried to download it again, only to discover that it no longer exists on the App Store. So do you just download the regular Momentum App, activate Safe Dayz on there, stay logged in, activate your GPS and taddaaaa....?
  11. Will do. I got a response from them, but just asked me a bunch of useless questions like this: "Kindly note that we need your username in order to escalate to the operations team for further investigations." I don't know how my username has anything to do with compatibility issues with my device.
  12. So to prevent myself from getting confused here...do you guys keep your GPS on at work as well to track you for the Safe Dayz?? I have just logged in at home in the mornings to track and as soon as I get to the office I swipe to the home icon and then I log out and switch off my GPS again. Is this not the right protocol to be following for the Safe Dayz?
  13. Thanks again. I have been having issues with the money app, because it keeps saying that the app is not compatible with my device (Samsung A3). I've already sent them an email to resolve the issue if they can... For the Safe Dayz at home to apply, is there a period of time that the GPS device needs to be activated to track me? Surely you can't keep your GPS running the whole day.
  14. Hi Gen I have a couple of questions you might be able to help with. Or not. - How do I apply or get hold of the Visa card for pharmacies? And does it work like a debit card and just take funds straight from your health saver when paying? - I'm having a nightmare with Safe Dayz as I'm logging all my commutes to work and back home again, but I have not received a single Safe Day yet. I read on the platform that if you take the train to work you get an automatic safe day. I take the MyCiti bus in Cape Town to work every day. I don't know if my App is broken or if something is not picking up or what is going on that I'm not getting any Safe Dayz. - Still on the Safe Dayz topic. If you stay at home you automatically get a Safe Day, but do you have to keep your GPS logged to track your location for a certain period to prove that you are, in fact, at home. Would an hour of tracking at home for example be sufficient? Thanks for all the other info
  15. What are the best seeding events I can do within the next 2 months for the CTCT? I was thinking 99er and the signal hill climb (if they do that again). What is my last chance on getting a seed?
  16. I think you're looking at approximately 1500m elevation per day on the long route. I did long/long last year, but doing short/long this year. I found that day 2 was a better trail riding day with lots more singletrack action
  17. That doesn't look too bad. Where would you buy a pole like that for bike storage?
  18. What is the elevation on the 72km and 46km races?
  19. I do use a dropper post. I'm not too fussed about carrying a water bottle, as I've actually started enjoying cycling with a camelback - It's helped me take sips at regular intervals. But I just thought it would be cool if there was something that I could mount onto my bike in place of a water bottle cage with tools and whatever else it can fit in there, nice and secure. Kind of like the SWAT box on some Specialized bikes - but now obviously in this case an external casing
  20. So on a slight hi-jacking note, I recently bought a bike that can't fit a bottle cage due to the position of the shock on my mtb. Now I did manage to find a bottle cage holder screws, literally 2cm from the BB and between my crank. Methinks I'll be the biggest hazzard coming down any path trying to get a bottle in or out of that precarious spot. But that got me thinking, why is there no (virtually indestructible) product available that can be fitted onto your bike to store some tools, etc? I often see the cut out 500ml coke bottles fitted into bottle cages used as storage devices. It seems to me there could be a gap in the market If there is something out there please enlighten me and I'll probably buy it tomorrow
  21. Haha I laughed so much at the difference now. Before and after. Before looks like a police mugshot of a man with no confidence. Advanced hair studios first rule was to ditch the power bracelet
  22. Power bracelets make you lose your hair. Just ask AB de Villiers
  23. Has anything changed on this thread since 2012?? I'm looking at a frame that is TA, but my rear shimano hub is QR. Any changes to Shimano hubs in the last 4 or so years? Edit: mine are SLX hubs.
  24. Sounds great
  25. Does your cash back benefit, as explained above, only apply to medical aid contributions or for ALL Momentum products owned?
