In the past couple of months I have ran a couple of their combo's. Started Ron front and Ralph rear lekker fast but had a issue with traction when braking. Then Ron front and rear that worked great, fast, grippy and lighter than Ralph. Currently running Nic on front and Ron rear works good little more grip in corners plus the Nic doesn't roll noticeably slower than the Ron on front. It all depends on the type of riding you want to do.

We wanted to do the 30 but ended doing the 60km. It was tough and the elevation was quite a bit more than they said. But was a lekker vibe between the riders. This is a pure MTB race no nice smooth trails just rocks, soft sand and rocks on soft sand. Definitely kept me awake on the HT it was not just a let go of the brakes and flying down like usual.

Tallboy 2 with 120MM on the front best of both worlds. Climbs great and most playful/capable 29er dual I have owned and the only bike I have regretted selling. It all depends on personal preference there's no wright or wrong some people prefer flying up and sacrifice some comfort/speed down others happy going up slower and bombing down the other side. But as mentioned there are bikes that's a great blend of the two. You get very capable xc bikes and trail bikes that climbs good the Trek fuel springs to mind. I was faster on the Fuel on the climbs than my lightweight Element. But my favorite bike is a HT so don't listen to me.????????

Wil be doing the 30km for first time. The 60km does not look to bad the 30km looks like it has the most/worst climbing. Not that big difference in elevation but, not having done it before I will give the shorter route a go and see if I enjoy it.

I ran 2 xx1 chains and just replaced them, both where 0.75. New chain is running perfectly, not sure of the the mileage I got was little more than a year of riding. Xx1 cassette still looks good might get another chain out of it after this 1.

I think it's a special class at Walvenpas there was a couple to choose from but some of the brooms have been wrecked by the FTF(first time flyers) ????

borrowed my wife's broom since she's gone for the weekend. Won't keep up with her mom she is an expert and this was only my first time out on the broom????????

going with Continental X King rear and trail king front. Funny enough the side walls are fine both Schwalbe tyres cut on top between the knobs.Have never had issues with the Conties so let's hope it keeps that up.

Started as a lekker ride. Snake bite put an end to that. Took my boet for some wortelkoek to cheer him up. Foamo lying and waiting was going to fit a more aggressive tyre in front for him anyway. Now just adding Foamo to the rear and he should not have this problem again.

Now this mos makes sense looks so clean. Never did get the DI2 point it's so expensive and so much extra stuff battery, display etc. But stil wires everywhere. ????

Love the ctct, practically nobody on the trails. Always time for the best carrot cake in town. ????????

It's quite easy to know if you are on carbon or clear coat when sanding. The carbon feels smooth and the clear coat feels "sticky". Don't think you have to worry about going through the layers to much. The bar was clear coated. For some reason clear coat and carbon never work it always starts to bubble or chip very easily especially if it's couple years old.

Here's the bar. Be warn there's no shortcut once you have started you have to be committed. You don't want to look at something you did not finish or have it resprayed.

If you do it correctly you don't need new clear coat . But use smooth sanding paper start with 400 and move up to 1200. If doing it this way you can polish with normal car polish for a shiny finish. Have only done a bar and rear triangle never attempted a complete frame.

het Rocket Ron voor en agter gehad en was baie impressed met rolling en grip. Ek het die vout gemaak om met 20psi en al 100kg van my in 'n rockgarden in te spring op 'n HT. So ek het nou foamo ingesit en besluit om bietjie willer te gaan voor siende dat ek 'n tyre moes koop. Moet sê die Nobby Nic rol lekker sal laat weet hoe dit gaan op die trails.

Nuwe lekker wille rubber en Foamo's nou is sy reg weer vir lekker gat skuur. ????

Foamo in, new rubber on, ready for the weekend. Have to say the rims seriously impressed me as hard as it hit last night I thought rim was done for but almost no evidence.
