  1. Slow spin today on dead legs after yesterday's, on the limiter to keep up with Duracell bunny (left) and our super fit friend. Given I am at least 15-20kg heavier than the other two I am impressed in pain but impressed ????
  2. that deal I just got from their website. At the end of the day choose the one you like the most there's not something like a bad bike these days only personal preference. Test as many as you can.
  3. This would also be a great choice and talking about warranty Trek has lifetime warranty. To be honest who cares about multi owner warranty buying a bike with a good warranty for when you sell it is like not sleeping with your girlfriend so she is more appealing to next one.
  4. the team is the carbon 100mm the comp is the aluminum one. Might be the 2019 model for closer price match but still the 1 I would go for. Buddy of mine has the 2018 team and I immediately regretted my choice after taking a spin on his. Other good choice would be Trek top fuel they had some great deals 2 of my friends went that direction and very happy. Must remember between 40 and 50k there's quite a selection just need to shop around to find the right one for you.
  5. Should be the same thing as Lyne copied/used the outgoing stan's hub the Stan's Neo hub's should be different. Yip had a quick look the Neo hub's are different but most before even back to the dirty flea had the same freebody.
  6. I am quite a Scott fan but out of 930 or the Elite I would take the cheapest 1 cause both need upgraded wheels. The one I would look for would be a Spark RC team I have seen them in similar price range about 2kg lighter than both the other. I had a 940 they are great but the RC climbs much better and decends is just as fun just ad a dropper.
  7. Dit was luiperd koud vanoggend ????
  8. I agree with you on the slade but modern geometry xc/marathon HTs are quite capable, much much more than the older bone shakers with those steep head angles.
  9. Almost done... Scott scale 910 2016 XT m8000 groupset except for the Sram XO crank that better suits the bike. Crest wheels on Hope Pro 4 hubs. Little trick to the back to fit the high volume 2.35 Maxxis with enough clearance. Thompson 740 carbon bar. Dropper still to come and maybe a 120mm fork.
  10. This is great and but, it in the past price difference between XT, SLX and Deore was so small it never made sense to go full budget. So I am interested to see the prices.
  11. I am guessing you are talking about the Silverback Storm? The sun ringle is now Stan's hub's if not mistaken. All I can remember is it used small bearings which made them nice and light but needed to be replaced more often than say Hope's.
  12. Not new but new to me. I regretted selling my Scale the moment I sold it. So had to get another one. Couple of upgrades soon to follow, crank, tyres and a dropper and maybe a 110-120mm fork.
  13. Lockdown budget build. 1x11 32 oval and sunrace 11-50t cassette Shimano XT shifter and derailleur but with Sram chain on the sunrace cassette just works better ???? Was sceptical about the fork but it really feels good plush and smooth. If I had a compressor I would have fit the onza Ibex skinwall think that would really make her pop.
  14. Scott Spark 940 since I have bought her I only did a 2 day race and another short ride before the lockdown so needless to say I am dieing to go for a ride. I have changed more things than I have had rides on her. Upgraded wheels to Flow on Hope pro 4, Fat Maxxis EXO rubber, Crank to XO1 carbon, Seat to Fabric scoop And ESI extra chunky grips.
  15. First solo ride. Great to be back home!
  16. Stanford classic. Die wind het my gebreek Saterdag en die sagte sand het ook nie gehelp nie. Sondag was great weer en trails maar Saterdag het sy tol gevat.
  17. First dually for me for quite some time. Will be breaking her in the weekend at Stanford. And no my love for hardtails has not disappeared. Will report back after the weekend.
  18. niks so exciting soos 'n nuwe fiets! Love die kleur!
  19. I know you get Minion dhf skinwall in 27.5 but does anyone know if you get it in 29er. Specifically looking for skinwall I know in black you get them in 29er.
  20. First ride on Eagle, have to say it does help when things goes up ???? I had my doubts because a number of people complained about 12spd shifting. Granted it is more of a pain to set up but happy to report shifting is quick and smooth.
  21. Play day at Jonkershoek. I like the new trail to the top. First ride on Eagle, not necessary but does help here.
  23. true and if I could afford a good e-bike I would get one to play on the trails with but but..., I am more fit now than ever before in my life and being able to ride 80-100km trails in a morning feels great (I am not a small guy) that is a feeling that no e-bike is going to give you and most probably more range to????????
  24. As a Santa Cruz fan and previous owner (Tallboy2 and Highball2) this just looks out dated. Hopefully it looks better in real life than pictures. The new Trance and Reign looks so much better and way cheaper, OK granted they are alu but does weight really matter on a e-bike?
