I agree with previous comments regarding Faf, I think he is finished. However, him and Rassie sure are giving us hope! If they can make it to the close of play without losing another wicket, we actually have a chance to chase that score down!
  4. This literally just happened: I watched this video, then got a call from my wife to bring the car so she can go fetch kids from school (lift club brings them to the reserve gate almost). As I get to my car, I nearly stepped on a.. yup, you guessed it, freaking black mamba! And where does it go? Under the car of course, and doesn't come back out the other side.. So off I go, with a mamba quite possibly somewhere in the undercarriage.
  5. I asssume this is it? Hmm, I'm either going to love it or hate it, haven't decided which yet

Oh! I thought Kallis was permanent. Hmm, they definitely need to change this set-up!

Imagine his career stats if AB kept on playing international cricket. He'd certainly be one of the greats of all time. Instead, he thought he could pick and choose when to play for SA, and chase dollars around the world the rest of the time. He has also hinted that SA politics had a say in his retirement But ja, he must p*ss off now. Even if he is still one of the best, someone will have to make way so he can steal the spotlight again, and that's not right!

Then there's a certain AB de Villiers who's talking about making a comeback for the T20 world cup... Not sure how I feel about this one..

Isn't Jacques Kallis the batting coach? Can't get much better than him.. Him and Boucher haven't been with the team that long though, so no ways they could've fixed all of the technical issues yet. But I'm starting to wonder, perhaps we just don't have world class cricketers anymore? A result from the poor quality of domestic levels?
  10. Looks like Matthys is still on his Stage?

Perhaps the roles are being reversed. If we lose the last test as well I'm pretty sure Faf will step down. And if he doesn't the decision might be made for him!

Hehe, I really enjoyed that! Serves him right for keeping himself on to get his 5 wickets, instead of bowling his frontline bowlers to get the job done!

Best over in this test: 81.64bRoot to Maharaj, 4 byes, and now he beats everyone. This is 99kph and moves away from the batsman, off the pitch. He's squared up and Buttler is beaten too as this slides from underneath81.56Root to Maharaj, SIX runs, and 24! Length outside off again, pushed through again. And slogged cleanly once more. This goes further back in the midwicket direction81.46Root to Maharaj, SIX runs, boom! That is some hit, whew. Length ball pushed through outside off. Slides into his arc and he wallops it over deep midwicketNow he's over the wicket 81.34Root to Maharaj, FOUR runs, and another! Maharaj loves attacking spinners, and right now he's being fed. Another full one pitching outside leg and once more he's down quickly to whip this past leg gully81.24Root to Maharaj, FOUR runs, full and down leg side, gets low again and has a swipe at it. No danger really with that line. Gets it off the under-edge and past Buttler81.14Root to Maharaj, FOUR runs, swiped to deep midwicket's right. Full toss on middle stump, gets low, watches that closely, and it's a nice and controlled sweepMore Root, around the wicket

Maybe this idea of changing tests to 4 days only is a good thing. We would've drawn this test and the Newlands one Seriously, we were comprehensively outplayed these last 2 tests but still made it to day 5. Would've been an injustice for Eng to draw them both if day 5 wasn't available!

I wonder what the weather is like in PE? That's all that can save this test.. These last 2 tests have really been disappointing. Things looked so promising after the first test, only to unravel spectacularly. But I suppose you can't expect boucher and co to fix a very broken team within the first series they play.
  22. That is AWESOME!

They better start taking wickets now, chances of winning this test is becoming slim. Unless the wicket breaks up later, but then we still have to bat last. As for the Faf vs Bavuma debate. Themba had a LONG spell in the team and his stats are underwhelming. Unfortunately politics are getting dragged in here, and I'm sure he's the last person that would want to be in the team only because of his skin colour. I also don't think one big score on the domestic scene is enough to bring him back for the 4th test. He must score big consistently, and then maybe if someone else in the test team is not performing consider swopping them. The new guys there deserve a spell as long as Bavuma's to cement a place in the team. Markram is in exactly the same boat as Themba and should score big consistently before he deserves another shot at test cricket. I am not the biggest fan of Faf, but I'm sure he'll come right and score some runs sooner or later. If there was an obvious candidate to take over the captaincy I'd be all for Faf stepping down soon, but there isn't. Only guy, as someone else mentioned here, is perhaps Elgar. Pity about Rabada's ban, our bowling stocks are already very low and under-performing.
  24. This was with my car, so puffy is no more unfortunately
  25. I live in a game reserve and often see "snakes" in the road, that turn out to be sticks. About two weeks ago I saw a "stick" and proceeded to drive over a puffadder. I felt really k*k
