    Cricket......

Seems like India and Aus are the two strongest teams at the moment. I would like anyone but those two to win it, so rooting for NZ at the moment. Eng can also be up there if they don't fold under the pressure and expectation. Otherwise SL/Pak/Bang might sneak into the semis. So, what to expect from the limp blommetjies today? I quite like the article on ESPN cricinfo, will they play like a team with nothing to lose, or a team with nothing to play for? The mood and body language from the players suggest the latter

    Cricket......

I disagree about the bowlers. They have been very poor as well. I read an article this morning, Morris is ahead with 9 wickets so far. Rabada has 6. Leading wicket takers in the comp have 15+. Before the WC our coaches have talked our bowling attack up as being one of THE best. Now excuses are being made: Rabada is over worked, Ngidi isn't 100% fit, Steyn is out etc.. The only one that can hold his head high is Tahir. And as for the over worked Rabada.. Faf is saying Rabada shouldn't have gone to the IPL, he should've rested instead. But tell me, why aren't the Indian and other bowlers that played in the IPL tired?

Yep, we were lucky it got called off. At least we won't exit the tournament empty handed..

Agree wrt Amla. He WAS a phenomenal batsman in his time, unfortunately he is now just a liability. He can't field for sh*t either. Problem is, the only other batsman we have in the squad is..? Duminy? That's going from bad to worse! Reeza Handricks should've been there in either Amla or Duminy's place. I feel for Markram. He's in and out the squad and probably doesn't know if he's coming or going. Getting out to a bad delivery today is so frustrating

Even though I have also lost a little bit of respect for him, this article is a bit harsh on AB in my opinion. There are 11 players in a team, 1 guy on his own cannot win trophies. According to this article he averages 63.5 in world cups, that pretty damn good!

And not long after I post this he falls for 73. Still, held the Aus innings together when they were close to collapsing

Faf can bitch and moan as much as he wants about his teams performance (or lack thereof), but Steve Smith is showing exactly what Faf himself should've been doing the last 3 games. Aus were in deep poo with 4-5 wickets down for not many runs, but Smith has dug in and is holding their innings together. They're now 223/6 after 42 overs and will most probably post a respectable and defend-able score. You just need 1 oke to stay there and not throw his wicket away!

Markram and vd Dussen may be inexperienced, but they are in form players. Apparently Markam played FC cricket on this very ground and scored tons of runs. Then they don't even pick him.. As you said, Amla has gone downhill FAST over the last 2 years and played very few games of cricket before the WC. And the games he did play he scored no runs. Then you have Duminy, and don't even get me started on him! Over the last 3 years and 31 innings, he scored three 50's.. Miller is too inconsistent, 1 good score every 20 or so innings isn't good enough. Then you have Steyn that went to England with a sore shoulder, and Ngidi was battling injuries too. So as is often the case with rugby, I think the proteas coaches picked too many players on reputations. Beaden Hendricks should've gone instead of Amla. Duminy wouldn't even be in my squad. And as sad as it is to leave Steyn out, it was stupid taking him KNOWING he wouldn't be fit for the first 2 games, and a doubt for the rest of the tournament. I really hope they can turn things around, but the vibe in the team doesn't look lekker..
  9. Thanks, I'll investigate the NATO strap Ja lesson learnt, I need to phone my insurance company for a quote asap
  10. LOL, a mate of mine said the exact same thing! Watch isn't insured, so would've had to fork out 7k+ for a new Fenix 5. And I'm more than happy with the 3.. What concerns me though is this aftermarket strap that broke so easily. I can't remember where I bought it from, I think it was Takealot. Will rather pay a few Rand more and look for a genuine Garmin strap
  11. We were camping in Richards Bay this past weekend, and went for a swim in the harbour. After a while I got out and parked off under the shade, only to realize I had lost my watch! Ran back to the spot where I swam and found a piece of the strap that had broken off. Watch was gone.. Went into the water and started feeling around with my toes, no luck.. Then after searching for 10 mins, in chin deep water, I found it!!! Was flippen lucky to get it back
  12. Dusty do you perhaps have a gpx file of the route you took? I've been planning such a trip for a long time now , and was looking at another route more to the east, down to Ulundi

From his point of view it is all fine to pick when and where you want to play. But remember, cricket is a team sport. it is not fair for someone to replace him, play a couple of games, do really well and settle in the team. Only to be told sorry we're dropping you, AB feels like playing again.. I would've been happy if he chose one format and stuck to it. But then he should be available for all the games, home and away.

    Cricket......

He copped a lot of critque for picking and choosing when and what format he wants to play. So ja, it probably had an influence on his thinking. Then it also doesn't help that we're playing only minnow teams for the next year or two. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, whoopdeedoo.... Perhaps a game or 2 against Zim in between for good measure..

He probably does have enough. But when is enough enough? It's like the SA rugby players. They own a sh*t load of money in SA, drive sponsored vehicles, get Puma/Adidas/Nike clothes and shoes for free, live in mansions and so on, but it's never enough. Once the pound come knocking then none of them say no thank you I earn enough here in SA

    Cricket......

What a loss to world cricket.. AB, you'll be sorely missed! As for his reasons. Rob Houwing wrote a piece on this, saying that a little piece of AB died at the last world cup when politics interfered and demanded Philander play instead of Morris (I think?). Just the other day AB told everyone he's back and enjoying his cricket again.. One IPL and he does a 360 degree turnaround (like only he can!). I think he's just gatvol of politics in SA cricket. He's not getting any younger, has had plenty injuries and want to coin it bigtime before he retires permanently. Who can blame the oke?
  17. Rode down to the river with my kids yesterday. Now I know why 2 bottle cages are so important.. When my youngest got to the river he didn't want to wear his shoes anymore, at least I had place to put them! LOL

What was their scores at the end? I haven't watched a sincle IPL game yet. Just couldn't be bothered.. If I knew Quinny and AB were batting I would have watched though!
  19. Nearly rode over a black mamba. I was in the same track as it and luckily saw it in time to switch lanes and miss it. Couldn't stop in time so had to go past it and then tried to take a photo. Spot the tail disappearing in the grass. Only saw about 1/4 of it I think, but man it was THICK Thereafter I had more than enough adrenaline to climb this hill
  20. Which one for rear wheel? Maxxis IKON (TR/3C/Exo) - R450 Vittoria Barzo TNT - R420 I do mostly rocky, technical rides (XC) and a couple of marathons inbetween

Those are TEST rankings. We are one if not THE best test side in the world. But we suck at limited over cricket..

Cool! But is parnell still part of the protea setup? Probably t20?

Imagine how well he could bowl if he wasn't fat.. So when are we going to see the Proteas in action again?
  24. Thanks for the replies. I feel naked without a watch on my wrist so can't really wait another 2 weeks, thanks for the offer though Kevin 07 I'm going for the one Andrew Steer posted. Funny, I searched for fenix 3 bands but never saw that one. Some of the links guys have posted earlier in this thread to bands for sale also didn't work.
  25. i see several okes have bought new bands for their watches. Mine broke this morning so I'm also shopping around. Does the fenix 5 band not fit on the 3? Takealot has every colour band for the 3 except black.. But they have a black band for the 5..
