Tahir was apparently accused of assaulting a kid who called him useless.. Whether that's true or not, the oke he was shouting at was an Indian! So how can this be a racial incident? Why is everything always about race??? Can it not for once be a cultural difference, or just someone who thought Tahir is k.k and Tahir taking exception to their comments? Jeezlike! Either way, Tahir is a professional sportsman, and as a cricket he should be used to abuse from fans. This is no way to behave!

Finally the blommetjies win one! That catch of Markram's was absolutely brilliant. I just wish he can convert his good starts with the bat into some big runs! Still a few weak links in our team but they did well. Hope we can win the next two games as well and square the series

Problem is, this manure is going to spill over into the test team. CSA has a sickness and test cricket won't be immune to it. For how long will CSA be happy that the transformation targets are averaged across the 3 formats? This has enabled them to keep on picking the test team on merit, as long as they then load the ODI and T20 teams with POC. I'm not blaming transformation alone for our poor performances, but it definitely contributes! Smacks of selfishness. "As long as I score 30 off 80 balls and look good doing it, my place in the team is secure." Or he just doesn't understand what is needed to win a game when chasing 300+! I mean, run rates and all that can just be so confusing, right? It is just such a sad state CSA and SARU are in at the moment. It is because both organisations are run by politicians and not professionals.

Ons kan daai vraag vra van baie spelers in die span. Zondo se pa is hoog geplaas polities.. Of dit is hkm hy daar is weet ek nie. Maar 2 honderd talle uit 115 innings in plaaslike krieket sĂȘ vir my genoeg

They just showed zondo's stats. 115 list A games and he's scored 2 hundreds. Really, this is the best we have to represent sa?

Dale, our fielding was terrible today. Just another poor all round performance. Again. Another hiding in the making. Sigh

Philander maybe too fat for one day cricket? ????. Apparently he worked a lot on his fitness but he's still a bit flabby! Markram needs to score a career defining century here!

Aaaand I spoke too soon.. Runs are flowing again Is this seriously the best team we can put on the field? I sometimes wonder, why can't guys like Elgar and Philander not play ODI cricket as well?

Well we got a wicket before they scored runs! Good start..
  11. AC and PDiv are both kuk coaches. AC even more so if you look at his long term record at the stormers and boks with the talent and assistant coaches he had at his disposal. Snorre got appointed as bok coach thanks to transformation. Like you pointed out, he wasn't even a super rugby coach. BUT, he had a really good squad (world champs) and he managed to ride the wave they were on for his tenure. Totti used to be a good man manager, until he got to the boks. Remember 2016 how he kept on blaming specific players after each loss, especially Lions players (Faf & Elton). Elton just could not play under AC for some reason. Yes he'll easily get another coaching job in Japan. But that doesn't mean he's a good coach!

I dunno if shuffling the batsmen around is going to solve the problem.. De Kock is horribly out of form, so is Amla (but to a lesser extent). Markram is new and inexperienced. Miller is way too inconsistent to count on. Duminy - I've aired my views on him plenty times before.. Zondo looks promising. Morris can hit hard for a few runs at the death.. Then we have a moerse long tail! I would drop at least 1 bowler and add another batsman to the top order. Then, we just seem to lack intelligence. Apparently, when India was bowling, Dhoni shouted to the spinners to slow it down and give more flight. @Capricorn said it, Tahir did the exact opposite. It's a no-brainer who was right.. And again, when last did you see SA pick TWO spinners for an ODI game in SA??
  13. Their records suggest otherwise. PDiv won the tri-nations, he had one of the best win% against the AB's, he won a series against B&I Lions... Granted, he inherited a WC winning team from Jake White. BUT, Eddie Jones has shown that a good coach can take a losing group of players and turn them into winners. At the stormers AC achieved nothing other than a couple of conference wins and semi finals. Despite having amazing talent in his squad (Schalk Burger, Jaque Fourie, Habana etc) and very good assistant coaches (Nienaber - best defensive coach in the world?). He is an average coach at best and should never have been appointed in the first place.

What a shocking cricket match! Our batting performance, the decision to take lunch, and another SA spinning wicket! WTF is going on???? I feel sorry for Markram, he's taking a lot of flak at the moment. But I do feel it was a good decision to make him stand in captain. He's young, very talented and obviously someone see good leadership in him. I just hope he stands up from this defeat and it makes him a better cricketer and person. What are they going to do to turn this around? Next in line as batsman is Behardien.. Whoopdeedoo!!!! I hope AB had a good round of golf at least..
  15. Sjo! Mbeki wasn't too bad, at least not compared to Zuma! Ja I dunno about Rassie hey.. He didn't achieve much with the Cheetahs. But his record at Munster is pretty good, and everyone hold him in high regard. SA rugby has just too many "issues" for anyone to really take the boks to No1 in the world. Transformation targets, provincialism, player exodus, financial constraints etc.. As long as we don't lose against the likes of Italy and Arg ever again!
  16. Agree with MNTboy, they should've fired him at the end of 2016. Now Rassie has to start from scratch again, with the English on their way here.. Less than 2 years out from the WC. Well done SARU #sarcastic clap Roux and Alexander should also be shown the door and someone competent with the interest of SA rugby at heart appointed. It's no use we keep on appointing new coaches but off the field amateurs are running the show. Just look at soccer in SA to find an example of how NOT to do things. SA rugby is quickly sinking to the same level as Bafana... Let's see what Rassie can do. I'm not holding my breath, although anyone else will surely do better than Totti did!

He sure is. I used to like him, but he's just a bit over the top during this SA tour. But then I suppose other countries feel the same about Tahir when he goes on a run after taking a wicket?

    Cricket......

The third test was a big disappointment. Yes the pitch was terrible, but we were still worse on a terrible pitch than they were. In my opinion both the Supersport park and Wanderers groundsman should be fired. Both got it horribly wrong. I'm not looking forward to the ODI's as much. We're very hot and cold in that department.
  19. At the water points? I hope so Looking forward to the race, first one for 2018!

    Cricket......

Domingo had an up and down time as coach. He inherited a really good team from mickey arthur. Then at one stage we did really badly and many people were calling for his head, but things picked up again and those calls went quiet again. And then we lost our last two away series against Eng and India.. I was just no a fan, didn't like the guy for some reason. As for where the proteas play franchise cricket. They probably could do that if players are contracted centrally with CSA, but I don't know if that's the case? And like you say, it doesn't happen very often that proteas play franchise cricket. So not a big deal in my opinion. I was moaning more about the attitude of the CSA top dogs.

    Cricket......

Interesting stats. I was never a fan of our previous coach, he did really poor in my opinion with the talent at his disposal. And as good a cricketer as AB is, he was never really a good captain. One thing I like about Faf and the way we've started playing cricket now, is that we're more aggressive. Yes sometimes taking risks and playing aggressively will backfire, but it annoyed the crap out of me when we were so over conservative. Maybe this approach is what we need to finally win some silverware in ODI's. But I fear the buffoons in charge of CSA are still going to do damage to our cricket. I read an article the other day where they say the players have no say and that they will decide where the proteas play franchise cricket.. That kind of attitude is going to get them nowhere with the players, and sour relationships with other cricketing countries too

    Cricket......

It's weird how Eng suddenly got completely outplayed by Aus and we just beat the No1 team at home. Is it a home advantage thing? For the last 10 years I think we haven't lost an away series, until this last one in Eng. And losing that record against Eng of all teams was just really annoying! And then we went and got pumped in India too, right? We still have the best away win % of all teams though. They showed that stat during the game. I think that's a might proud record to have. It's one thing being a bully in your own back yard (yes India, you!) and another going on a tour and winning in someone elses back yard The series against Aus is also going to be a cracker. The one thing that sets us apart from the aussies is the bit between the ears. They just have so much aggression, confidence and mental toughness, which is something we sometimes lack

Agreed, excellent test match! We'll done proteas! For the next game I would just replace steyn with Morris. The afrikaans commentators also thought they should drop maharaj for phelakwayo, to go with an all out pace attack. Which I sort of agree with

Haha, chop! I actually liked him before he started his antics during this test. Apparently they've also been chirping our players a lot? Our guys should just tell them, this isn't Joburg yet... I hope they're preparing another FAST pitch at Supersort park too!
