  1. Sometimes it feels even worse when the rider admits it straight out. He seems like an even bigger tjop !!!! Obviously learnt a lot during his time with lance. Puts into question all his results during his career.
  2. Eddy without a doubt. Hiw win ration is the best, he also won just about everything. Also don't forget all the 6-Day track events he won. He rode with Patrick Sercu most of the time. If there was mountain biking in the day, he would've probably ridden that too :-)
  3. Just as cyclists/Sportspeople have been doping for many years, so have the authorities been covering it up for just as long !! Why is any of that going to suddenly chnage ???? They are all making money and all want to save their arses and protect their income/positions.
  4. Maybe you should edit it to say " Lance is an enigma in that he's a great athlete on drugs, but a horrible human being " The question has to be just how great he would have been without the meds ? And ok I agree before I get shot down in flames, same can be said about many athletes, not just cyclists.
  5. Whichever one is mates with Lance Armstrong
  6. Does Natalie not have an advantage because of less drag ???? Which in swimming is a major factor !!

    All Hail Vino

I agree, the Brits are sore losers. There was nothing stopping any of them going in the break, even Cavendish. They were over confident and thought they could control everything. I didn't see them complaining in the TDF for setting pace all day for Wiggins. maybe that's coz it worked there. They have Millar on their team who was caught for doping, so don't know how they can even think of bringing up the doping angle. Maybe Vino's dope was better than Millar's, once again sour grapes It goes to show how the complextion of a race can be different without radios. Riders must think on the spot, and work out for themselves what they must chase and what to do. How they could expect to pull back a break with so many top class riders in, I don't know. This wasn't a bunch of domestiques in a break. There were seriously classy riders in the break with teammates to help. And lastly, Vino's experience against Uran's youth. The wiley old fox outfoxed the youngster. great win for a real racer who is always trying for a win.

    Chris Froome

Unfortunately Froome is doing a job he accepted and is being paid for. His only chance was if Wiggins had a bad day and he had to mark Nibali or Evans. He could then go with to ensure the win for Sky. But that not gonna happen. The problem is, sometimes your chance to win a TDF may only come once, and on his form he could've won this year. So he could have 2 Grand Tour wins if it wasn't for Wiggins..........

    Chris Froome

I think the questions were answered today. Froome pulled wigins and then dropped him when he attacked. Chris had to sit up and wait for Wiggins.
  10. I think you should have got that Farm Gate in John Deere green
  11. Still driving my 1988 Landcruiser. yes it's heavy on petrol, but still cheaper than shelving out on a new car. Keep the BMW and drive it. The compass is not 4x4 if that's what you looking for.......thats what I was told. Also, try and get a KIA. 1 year waitlist and the salesmen are not interested. Good buy at the moment is the Chev Captiva. Under R 300k
  12. I suppose the question to ask is, if an item is not on the banned list at the time, and you took it, were you doping ? Until they bring in a law about being allowed to store samples and test at a later date, it's irrelevant. I do think Lance "doped" as did almost everyone else. His chemists are just way ahead of the game. Another question, who was actually the winner of the TDF when Bjarne Riis "won". And does anyone care ???? I think it was Ullrich, I'm sure he was 2nd. But then again. If his leader was on EPO, for which there was no test at the time, he admiited to using it, then you could assume that Ullrich was also using it. Let them all dope, and lets enjoy awsome racing. Live (race) fast and Die young !!!!
  13. Not really a Cadel fan, but don't see any other name that stands out. Could be an interesting and wide open tour. Yesterday I thought a dark horse would be Froome. He outclassed Wiggins last year in Spain. He also came 5th in the TT yesterday. Maybe coming into form at the right time.
  14. There is often a tendancy to want to ride a bike that is bigger than what would be best suited to a persons height. Often see people on bikes that you can tell are too big. And then they also have stretched legs with toes pointing down. I think it's a phsycoligocal effect of bigger is better ( happens all the time :-) ) In reality it is better to ride a slightly smaller frame than a slightly larger frame. Better handling etc. Also as was mentioned, people have different leg lengths in ralation to torso which should be taken into account. I have a longer torso, so ride a smaller bike but need a longer stem. You should actually measure your inner leg to determine frame size and not total length. Try a smaller frame for a test ride and see what the difference is like. At the end of the day you need to feel comfortable, regardless of what the computer says.
  15. maybe this was after he was shelved in the Dauphine yestreday. Bruyneel probably told him to go get some training on some climbs easier than the 3rd cat he was shelved on ;-)
  16. Merdida :-) At that price get the one with the best group set.
  17. I still have my Kona steel frame with no suspension and v brakes. Maybe I can fit some 650B wheels on there :-)
  18. Mmmmm, when Cavendish did this last year in the Tour to make the cut-off nothing happened:-(
  19. Do 2 laps, (1 either way) Lydenberg - Sabie - Pilgrims Rest - Lydenberg. You go over Long Tom, then climb from Sabie, over Bonnets into Graskop and then Robbers. Then do it the opposite way so you do the steep sides of both Robbers and Long Tom. Bonnets is quite tough as well. Especially from Pilgrims side. Ok, maybe over 2 days :-) Ride from Fouriesberg, into Lesotho and all the way to Oxbow. Overnight and ride back. Some serious climbing. At times the gradient is 12% with switchbacks. Goes on forever. Only about 70k's 1 way but could take some srious time.
  20. The ride was great. As I said, I don't want to rehash all the good things being said. Maybe read carefully before being critical. I implied there were a lot of good things. I also said lastly but not that serious was the cold showers. A warm/hot shower would still be better. It is a bit of a let down when the clothes that were promised and "paid" for as well as sizes selected well in advance, were just not available. Also with no explanation. There was an entire truck that arrived at almost 12. Once again no explanation other than it is not here yet. It all just took away a bot of the magic at the end.........imho.
  21. Rode the Trail. First time doing Sani2c. Was a great experience. Don't want to rehash all the good stuff being said. I have 3 complaints - Firstly no clothing in the box when we registered. Now I enetered and paid in Sept, they knew I was coming and had my money. I almost left my warm jacket at home, luckily I kept it in the car or else I'd have been stuffed. Secondly, after the finish there were no boxes with our kit. We had to wait over an hour for them to arrive. Not so great when you want a shower and need to pack up to drive back to JHB. Lastly, not as important, but a warm/hot shower at the end would be great. They did say during the ride we could get the missing kit after the race, a bit of an anti-climax. Even then, only had the Salamon jackets and will now hopefully get the Aca Joe jackets posted. We wait in anticipation. Unfortunately, sometimes the small things tend to outweigh all the great things.
  22. The reason Suzie's camera points backwards is that it's the only way you will get to see any other riders :-)
  23. Looks like Multivan took the 3rd place sprint
  24. time to go out riding now :-)
  25. If you remember, Bulls have had a backup team for a number of years already. If Buury and Christoph had one in previous years they would have won a few more Epics. Remember the 1 hour penalty for Burry receiving a wheel from Brandon I think.
