I think most of us were actually talking about if the selectors will choose Cherise when she TURNS elite and it is time for Worlds, not now. It would be very unfair to expect so much from such a young rider if you send her to Elite worlds while she's still junior...and then subject her to all the critics if she does or does not perform. And i really don't think that UCI will let the 2nd Junior compete for another medal in another category!

Jip...Cherise, at the age of 17, is already in a class of her own...she just has to keep up the way what she is doing now and she will be the star of SA for years to come. IMO if she still rides elite SA when she finnishes her junior year any selector would be stark raving mad to not send her to all the big events, because she has already proved that she can keep her own in there with the best! jip, so from now on i'm saving a few bucks every time my bikes decides to give probs

Okay...so my mtb's shifting was giving me a lot of problems and head aches (...had to stop on hills because i can't change the gears and then topple over) So on Thursday i got out of school early and decided to try fix this little problem while i have the time. Got a screwdriver and some allen keys out of the garage and made myself comfortable on the floor in front of my bike. Loosened and tightened a few screws. Then i saw the place where you fasten the cable...ahhhh...get the right allen key and start messing about around there.....erm....BAD idea!!! After struggling for half an hour i'm convinced that i have now completely and royally messed up my mtb's front derailleur system and that i am now doomed to an eternity of small blade riding. awwww...felt like crying! So now have one of two choices - 1# leave it like that, take it to the bike shop and get imbarrased when i explain that i messed it up single handedly and ask if they can pleeeeez fix it 2# try fiddling around a bit more and hope and pray that i can get it into a semi-working state so that i can go ride a bit later. Chose option two - 15 mintues later...................JIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! it's working! ....Perfectly!! went for a ride and it's now working better than ever before! perfectly smooth shifting and no problems was a bit nervous when i got to the rougher parts of the trail - imagined it falling apart and breaking into teeny tiny pieces, but it didn't happen and i just love my mountain bike all over again

Jip, definitely one of (if not the) best female riders in SA! Was actually just watching an old Argus DVD where she got 2nd place - absolutely brilliant!
