  1. As bleak as you may be, allow me to cheer you up. One of the BIGGEST improvements here is that you can generate a voucher (55% discount in your case) EVERY.SINGLE.MONTH I feel like even non-bank clients are benefitting massively when compared against the old HealthyGear benefit.
  2. Thanks for that. I am no light specialist hence my asking. As far as pricing is confirmed, I do find it a bit hectic, especially since the bike I got is a 2013 Cannondale Synapse and to justify buying lights that cost a large fraction of the price itself, is a difficult task. But I suppose the saying of 'you can't put a price on safety' is what I will be told.
  3. This seems like an appropriate place to ask a question without derailing the thread As someone who is relatively new to road cycling, I have actually been declining invitations to group rides over the last 2 weeks due to it being dark. I know they have lights, but don't want to be 'that guy' who rocks up with no lights. With that being said, would something like the following be alright to use? It's 500 lumens up front, 30 at the back https://www.cyclelab.com/product/lezyne-hecto-drive-stick-drive-light-combo Appreciate any pointers.
  4. Appreciate the comment/support
  5. April was a good month for me, but then it wasn't (face palm) I dropped to 101.4 until a long weekend away with the spouse which included restaurants every night, ice creams at the beach and so on. so thus I gained some weight and weighed in at 102.6. I know I am still looking VERY GOOD since the start (109) and technically I am still winning, but it was demotivating to say the least. Anyway, no one said this challenge would be as easy as a straight line. So I am back on track and just need to continue trusting the process.
  6. Yup, definitely MyRun then. In fact, I think that was the very first Sunday on which they started up again.
  7. What you possibly saw was MyRun (like park run, just on Sunday's) which has recently started up again. Parkrun has yet to start due the amount of people that generally attend. Parkrun is completely free MyRun I heard you pay a once off R60 (for a timing chip, not sure if this optional for a snazzy one or what the story is) and then free thereafter. EDIT: Both are partners of Vitality, hence the marketing/branding.
  8. Really happy with my progress thus far. (Started: 109.1, Current: 102.8) Eating healthily is becoming more and more second nature (still get cravings here and there for lekker goed) and well and truly settled into my exercise regime. Seen a number of wins happening over the last month, clothes are fitting nicer (gone down 2 pants sizes and 1 shirt size, nearly 2 notches down on my belt), much more energy and concentration throughout the day and my confidence is definitely up. The only thing I am struggling with now is time. I know 100% that this journey is exactly that, and not something that happens overnight, but somedays I get very demotivated when I think its not happening fast enough. The funny thing is I know very well that it doesn't and shouldn't happen like that. How do you keep motivated during times like that?
  9. Provided that said dietician that you visit is registered and accredited with their relevant board and HCPSA, then yes, it can be claimed from your MSA. The above info also goes for bio's, chiro's, physio's etc. It all comes down to are they recognized as a healthcare worker and registered with the affiliated boards.
  10. I'm of the opinion that as long as masks and social distancing are required, there will be no mass participation events.
  11. (1) Why? Why does the buyer have to do things when handing over cash? The seller should be truthful, informed and 100% accurate. We not buying food here, it is something that's worth a small 2nd hand car. (This point of mine only stands if we dealing with a hubber who has good ratings etc. if not, then I agree with you) (2) Cool, so next time somone buys a car and the gearbox is buggered (without being told, or even being told that everything was fine), we can just be happy with a gearbox replacement and not at all be considerate to the buyers thoughts of confidence in the product or whether he is happy with now having a car (which he was told works) being repaired? Replacement/refund. Only option.
  12. Agreed. Good enough model, and anyone who refuses to sell via this should be a red flag. I still feel that admin should be banning these sellers though, because they are hurting their own image and its members.
  13. How do you expect the buyer to react after paying R60k for broken goods? Come on, I would be vloeking seven ways from Sunday. The fact remains that whether the buyer handled well or not, he was screwed over. Full stop. I know you not picking sides, but admin MUST start providing action. *spelling
  14. The amount of victim blaming that has happened on this, is rubbish. We have people nitpicking timelines, when he asked certain questions and if he put the bike together correctly... FACT: Seller did not disclose/be truthful enough to warrant being innocent. END OF!! Buyer has transferred a large amount of money (whether he shouldn't before seeing the bike is irrelevant) for something which was not advertised. That is the bottom line. This is precisely the reason why dubious people get away with that they want on the hub. Victim asks for advice and is burnt at the stake because he didn't do 'what you would of done'. If admin does not permanently ban these people (relation to the other thread regarding 650 vs 29er) it shows that they do not care about its members. This goes for all the 'individuals' trading as such without registering as a dealer. Stuff the fact that you are selling 'on be half of someone' or 'in your personal capacity outside of the shop you own".
  15. Very happy with my progress thus far! 4kg down, stomach starting to look flatter, clothing fits much better (fitted into pants that I haven't been able to fit in recently) and generally feeling very chuffed with my progress! Just need to keep it up and keep pushing!

  17. Without derailing the thread, I really would like to get a Leatherman but would like to be pointed in the right direction from someone here (not a salesman). If you feel like you can help and/or have the time, please PM me (really don't want to be off topic, unless we can?)
  18. I used to use MyFitnessPal but got tired of having to guess what to use to log my food diary. Put in 'cup of coffee' and get various options running from 40 calories to 190 calories? I have no clue, that's why I'm using the app Would be interesting to hear what valid alternatives there are.
  19. #MondayMotivation "Even if you loose 500g a week, you would have still lost 26kg's by this time next year! Just...keep...going!" "Do not let a stumble stop in the road be the end to your journey" "If you feel like quitting, remember why you started" Keep up all the good work everyone
  20. I really do appreciate the advice, but I must admit I feel fine. I do believe that I have a much stronger will power than most, so thus far, all good. Once I've made a decision I generally stick with it
  21. for me its bread, chips, sugary drinks and alcohol. cutting all of that completely out.
  22. Hi all, A happy new years to you (first day back in the office for me ) I have just joined myself. need to get back to were I was 2 years ago before I let myself go (trust me, doing a climb with an additional 15kg is not fun). I really hope we all lose. Badly.
  23. Hi Lexx I appreciate the response, albeit not exactly the one I was hoping for. Seems to me that I should follow suit and begrudgingly give up the idea of returning to running. I suffer very similar symptoms, loss of feeling in both legs, bad pins and needles, numbness causing walking to be difficult.
  24. Hey all, Quick question. Anyone suffered from prolapsed disks (multiple) and successfully returned to running? I have stopped running for the last 18 months after several disks in my lower back decided to give up on life. Neurosurgeon is very much against running in my circumstance, but I miss it a lot. Even if I have the ability to just run 5km max distance for the rest of my life I will be grateful. Is there still hope?
  25. Saw that with their launch in September and has come through. I see it as a marketing/free/lite version of Team Vitality. Points can be earned through Strava based on speed, but I think most would have a device which leaves that moot.
