  1. That is a very lekker pitcha! (I better up my game. Nice coffee ride this morning, not one pic )
  2. Well for someone new to road, it certainly is a lot more comfortable than I imagined. I wonder what a 'race spec geometry' bike would then feel to me?
  3. Ah this is brilliant!! super grateful for this. I must say, the frame is in exceptional condition for its age then. One concern I now have is that the FD is now Tiagra, vs the 105 it came out with? very strange...
  4. What a beauty! Many safe and happy rides!
  5. Thanks for the reply! I'm glad that by luck I ended up getting something with more relaxed geometry, as opposed to a hardcore racer. I am mainly using it for group rides etc for fitness and enjoyment factor, I am by no means a racing snake. Would be nice to start getting into races (regulations allowing) for personal accomplishment, as such I reckon the synapse frame is still a winner. I have looked at google images for models 2011+ but still cannot find a single pic which is the same colour scheme as my bike? Quite baffled actually. Reason why I really want to find the year model is for own knowledge/history, seeing what was upgraded on the bike as well as for maintenance.
  6. Yup, tried that. First chose the file, then clicked attach this file. Same error *Edit: realized I was trying to upload a 12.2mb pic. My bad I'm a noob so that is my excuse. Please see my pic now. would love to know what year model it is and perhaps what would have been standard on the bike? And again, sorry for the bad photo (non drive side etc)
  7. Hi All, Here is my Cannondale! New to biking and loving the bike! Please excuse the horrible picture, will upload better ones next time. What I would like is if someone can give me some information or a lesson on the bike? I bought it 2nd hand and I am not familiar with Cannondales. All I know is the following: Cannondale Synapse 58cm Tiagra FD FSA Cranks 105 RD 105 STI's Shimano RS10 wheels *Edit: Cannot upload pic for some reason. Every time I go to attach file, it says Error No file was selected for upload???
  8. I'll give it a go, even though I despise that stuff.
  9. I started last week Wednesday with a sort of tickle/cough. Thursday I had absolutely no voice. Friday through to Sunday I was man down properly with serious congestion. This week the congestion has gotten slightly better but I cannot get rid of this cough I swear anymore cough syrup and I might just start using a straw for it.
  10. I'm pretty certain these pics go against the rules of the Hub, I mean, just wow! This should come with a NSFW warning due to the sounds you make when you see it
  11. It is a sad reality. I'm a millennial and much prefer the 'older' way of doing things, however, we have to admit that the costs of running a shop/store/bank is simply too much compared to what can be achieved online. My main question with the lack of customer service is this. Is it due to just pathetic service/protocols in place or is it because most staff are working from home and thus, slacking off due to no active supervision?
  12. Thanks for the advice guys. @TyroneLab, I'm a roadie, so unfortunately the MTB group won't work for me. @Red Robin I will try to look it up. Last I heard Procycles were in a bit of trouble business wise (their store hasn't been open) but maybe the group is still active. Do they offer road groups?
  13. I'd absolutely love to join this group, but living in Benoni I'm afraid its a bit far. any idea of a very similar group nearby me?
  14. Was one of the things that stood out for me on the bike (the geometry). I'm no where near a age group podium finisher, and with two prolapsed disks in my back, I thought it was a good choice.
  15. Thanks Hairy, very chuffed. Should be having a bike fit this Saturday to dial it in.
  16. Very happy and smiling ear to ear with my purchase! A new-to-me bike day! This is my first venture into road cycling and pretty much cycling overall! Picked up on the classifieds here from a lekker hubber (Thanks Thomas ) What do you guys think?
  17. Spot on with your sentiments. Just a note, I looked at the sign up process, and it looks like you have to choose whether you are MTB or a roadie, so it seems as it would be specific to one discipline or another.
  18. Absolutely love the idea....but, I agree with some of the sentiments here. What happens if you get a pink bottle holder? Perhaps a very nice, premium bottle holder but if it clashes with your colour scheme or you already have 2 on your frame, its rendered useless. And the price is a bit steep with that degree of uncertainty. Perhaps an option would be to have a 'cheaper' option, that doesn't include the big ticket items but does all the smaller things, bike wash, chain lube, ride consumables etc. That I would look into a lot more.
  19. Appreciate the feedback. No rating will be given Guess I was just a bit upset/angry. Went from negotiating/talking to no sale and ghosting within 3 days. And my offer was what he willing to accept (R500 less than asking price of the bike)
  20. I would like some opinion as to whether my feelings/reactions are either to be expected, or if I may be overreacting. Story: contacted a hubber on here as he was selling his bike. Bike was a bit out my price range, so I chatted with him over a few days about that, but he wasn't budging much (absolutely fine in my books, his right to do so). I say to him I will let him know the next day (wanted to see if I could move some money around to make the sale). I contact him the next day as I said to him, saying I've got the money and would like to take the bike from him. He reads the message, no reply. Follow up message the next day after that, same thing, reads the message, no reply. Ad has subsequently been removed from the classifieds here. I feel extremely irritated, and I feel like I should rate him on his profile based on the experience here. However, I don't want to do so willy nilly. Your thoughts?
  21. Wow, thanks.
  22. Is that an Antonov? If so, where is this?
  23. capediver these videos are AWESOME! Please keep them coming.
  24. These pictures and stories are all truly fantastic! Being a Joburger born and bred, I am seriously thinking to myself that the Western Cape has GOT to be the best province for a cyclist surely?
  25. Thanks very much. Will have a squiz at checkers next time I'm there. I know I'll own a decent coffee machine when I'm older. But for my current younger self, my finances are needed elsewhere.
