  1. The amount of complaints I am seeing regarding poor service from providers/shops is simply mind blowing!! I cannot believe that in a world where business has not been the best for everyone, shops were closed for some months and the like, that people continue to give poor service. It honestly feels as providers/shops feel like they are doing us a favor by completing a task that WE ARE PAYING FOR!
  2. Hey all, Quick question. Anyone suffered from prolapsed disks (multiple) and successfully returned to running? I have stopped running for the last 18 months after several disks in my lower back decided to give up on life. Neurosurgeon is very much against running in my circumstance, but I miss it a lot. Even if I have the ability to just run 5km max distance for the rest of my life I will be grateful. Is there still hope?
  3. Saw that with their launch in September and has come through. I see it as a marketing/free/lite version of Team Vitality. Points can be earned through Strava based on speed, but I think most would have a device which leaves that moot.
  4. Fair enough. Thanks for the info. I shall wait for next year then
  5. Love your kit, but unfortunately nothing in my size (XL/XXL). Without derailing the thread too much, do you have any idea when more stock will come in? (Doesn't have to be for Black Friday).
  6. Good luck for all riding tomorrow. Have a blast and be safe. Looking forward to the race reports
  7. Completely understand. I am by no means a bike expert (sorry OP ) One of the only reasons why I am against this route, is it works out expensive. You won't get the money back on the 'first' bike and then you still need to fork out more for the 'second'? where as what I am eluding to is buying the most expensive you can afford now, then not needing to upgrade much (or at all) down the line. That is my opinion. But again, I don't claim to be an expert here. Just sharing my thoughts and experiences *Edit: I do completely agree and support the idea of getting on a bike ASAP though
  8. That is really nice. Yes its the most expensive, but only about 2-3k more than the other and comes with 1x, air fork etc. That is the type of thinking I am on
  9. Look it seems a bit slammed, but that's really the setup for XC and/or racing snakes. I pulled that bike out only as an example, not necessarily saying its exactly the one you should get. The example was just to show that a few extra rand gives you much better specs compounded. I would honestly keep shopping around, see how much you can spend and get something with newer components on it. I would have a 1x setup, good quality fork, and good quality wheels as my checking points on my shopping list. Don't rush the shopping. Keep looking, keep researching, watch videos on YT etc. The right bike at a good deal will come up sooner or later.
  10. Welcome, Thing to note there on the Titan, that was one of their cheapest frames Titan made in the MTB lineup, with what looks like a stock Silverback Sola 4 wheels and fork (kind of like a frankenstein bike). The best thing to do is really come up with a budget and see how far you can really stretch it. What you don't want to happen is buying something that starts to limit you within 6 months of riding. It's costly to upgrade. And you don't want the fact that your bike is limiting you to put you off completely. This is purely an example, but have a look at what a slightly higher budget will allow. It puts you on a current 1x12 drivetrain (which is standard in the MTB world now), great fork, with good ergonomics for what you say you will use it for, and let's be honest, it looks the beez neez. (a bike that looks great, rides great. You will also want to ride a great looking bike more). Again, this is an example. Simply a demonstration of what pushing your budget can do for what you get. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/hardtail-mountain-bikes/433905/titan-racing-rogue-dash Have fun during this shopping process.
  11. That is a very lekker pitcha! (I better up my game. Nice coffee ride this morning, not one pic )
  12. Well for someone new to road, it certainly is a lot more comfortable than I imagined. I wonder what a 'race spec geometry' bike would then feel to me?
  13. Ah this is brilliant!! super grateful for this. I must say, the frame is in exceptional condition for its age then. One concern I now have is that the FD is now Tiagra, vs the 105 it came out with? very strange...
  14. Ah you can see how much I know hahaha
  15. What a beauty! Many safe and happy rides!
  16. Thanks for the reply! I'm glad that by luck I ended up getting something with more relaxed geometry, as opposed to a hardcore racer. I am mainly using it for group rides etc for fitness and enjoyment factor, I am by no means a racing snake. Would be nice to start getting into races (regulations allowing) for personal accomplishment, as such I reckon the synapse frame is still a winner. I have looked at google images for models 2011+ but still cannot find a single pic which is the same colour scheme as my bike? Quite baffled actually. Reason why I really want to find the year model is for own knowledge/history, seeing what was upgraded on the bike as well as for maintenance.
  17. Quick thought, and it's an honest question as I am also interested in secured storage for bikes and weekends away, but having a look at the capital outlay for an armadillo + Thule/Skitch bars, would it not be an option to have a look at an Aluminium Canopy? It will serve as lockable storage for both bikes and gear/bags?
  18. Yup, tried that. First chose the file, then clicked attach this file. Same error *Edit: realized I was trying to upload a 12.2mb pic. My bad I'm a noob so that is my excuse. Please see my pic now. would love to know what year model it is and perhaps what would have been standard on the bike? And again, sorry for the bad photo (non drive side etc)
  19. Hi All, Here is my Cannondale! New to biking and loving the bike! Please excuse the horrible picture, will upload better ones next time. What I would like is if someone can give me some information or a lesson on the bike? I bought it 2nd hand and I am not familiar with Cannondales. All I know is the following: Cannondale Synapse 58cm Tiagra FD FSA Cranks 105 RD 105 STI's Shimano RS10 wheels *Edit: Cannot upload pic for some reason. Every time I go to attach file, it says Error No file was selected for upload???
  20. I'll give it a go, even though I despise that stuff.
  21. I started last week Wednesday with a sort of tickle/cough. Thursday I had absolutely no voice. Friday through to Sunday I was man down properly with serious congestion. This week the congestion has gotten slightly better but I cannot get rid of this cough I swear anymore cough syrup and I might just start using a straw for it.
  22. I'm pretty certain these pics go against the rules of the Hub, I mean, just wow! This should come with a NSFW warning due to the sounds you make when you see it
  23. It is a sad reality. I'm a millennial and much prefer the 'older' way of doing things, however, we have to admit that the costs of running a shop/store/bank is simply too much compared to what can be achieved online. My main question with the lack of customer service is this. Is it due to just pathetic service/protocols in place or is it because most staff are working from home and thus, slacking off due to no active supervision?
  24. Not quite correct taking the cost of Team Vitality from the cash back maximum. Team Vitality provides benefits of its own, biggest of being cash back on entry fees (so it would actually add to the total cash back). Besides which, I honestly don't understand how something like this can be a 'disgrace' when they are offering money back on a bike where you wouldn't have gotten anything back? It's free money man. If you don't like it, don't take it, simple.
