  1. Using this example, remove the 2nd person. Now pee with pant on, pee with no pants on, hey, there is nobody to get pee on. This is what riding alone with no mask is like. I can explain it for you all, but I can't understand it for you
  2. I'm not spreading the virus if there are no people to spread it to. How is that not obvious?
  3. To be clear, I don't consider coronavirus to be a chickenlikken scenario - quite the contrary, I acknowledge its seriousness. I merely take issue with the blanket approach to things, such as mask wearing where my decision to not wear it has no effect on people. Riding alone is one such scenario, but some commentators want to dress this up in a "what if this, what if that" end of the world apocalypse. THIS is what I was calling the chickenlikken scenario. Context is key, and I happily wear masks when around people in shops etc.
  4. Apartheid was gazetted, so was extermination of Jews. Its funny how law abiding people get when enforcing questionable and/or non-nonsensical laws. So what, is my answer to your point about the law. Did it occur to you that this law is entirely flawed, as further evidenced by the fact that it bears no sanction for disregard? Anyway, my not wearing a mask when riding alone does not affect the PEOPLE for whom you seem to care so deeply. Spare the dramatics, and learn to think for yourself. I agree we should all be responsible and take precautions, but this flock of sheep bleating about mask wearing is just silly.
  5. I don't, for the most part, and keep well wide of anyone that is running or riding. Its quite easy, really
  6. i don't think that is realistic, and the types of masks people are wearing dont protect from what you describe in any event. This really is a chicken licken scenario which is silly. It seems that the whole argument is based on some sort of sheep-mentality moral high ground, but is not grounded in reality or PROBABILITY. There are risks all around us every day. The mere possibility of something occurring now demands a response, according to your logic. People can't live like this - its not sustainable
  7. if you ride by yourself, how does wearing/not wearing a mask affect anybody else? My not wearing a mask on my rides by myself has no impact on you or anybody else, so why are you all so out of shape about it? I really don't understand
  8. its a lesser of 2 evils argument. Its subtle.
  9. i'm a lover, not a fighter, but this level of self-entitled, egocentric world-view just gets on my proverbial t1ts. I can't imagine what a mission it must be to open a bike park, maintain the trails, etc. The guys who do it sure as hell don't do it for the money, that's for sure. And then you get these man-baby complainers like our friend marc to come and sh.1t all over it because he DEMANDS that the R200 he spent last year must be honoured. Seriously? He probably winged like a stuck pig when they increased from 35 to R40. In fact, that's probably why he bought a multientrey ticket. Wow, the poor guy. @marc Go take a long look at yourself, chap. Its all not about you
  10. you are not loyal and you have no respect for the effort to get this business up and running. You are just an another typical "its all about me" self entitled moaner. As you said, please take your hard earned R200 and go somewhere else.
  11. thankfully small-minded people like you don't matter. You are crying about R200 or some such, while these guys have invested in reopening the whole place for everyone. They are in no way obliged to honour the previous business' obligations - go google it. Pillock
  12. just go ride - you are worrying about a stupid rule infraction while the majority of our citizens carry on with no compunction about anything, including the recreational murder and rape that we are so well-renown for
  13. sheeple - what protection (to rider or anyone else) does a mask give when riding alone? This is not science base, and the rules are made by idiots. If being blindly rule abiding (it is NOT law, and there is no sanction for non-compliance), then you do you
  14. LOL - praying allows adults to keep their imaginary friends!
  15. Probably my mother - never really thought about it, to be honest. but I reckon herd immunity is going to take care of that!
  16. in fairness, this is ostensibly a group of "cyclists" - where else in the world would you find more self interested peeps parading as caring, involved and philanthropic do-gooders?
  17. Is my aunty actually my uncle? I guess we'll never know. At least Trevor can think for himself, unlike many around here
  18. Seriously? lockdown sure be getting to some people, thats for sure. go for a bike ride, maybe try 5,01km for that rush of reckless craziness!
  19. Its equally irresponsible to blindly follow draconian instructions without stopping to consider and understand whether they are sound and rational. Well done to Trevor Manuel for critically considering the SA lockdown, and calling it for what it is - NOT RATIONAL. Unfortunately the sheeple like many of the commentators here have no ability to think for themselves, and feel the need to blindly obey foolhardy nonsense, and worse, feel the need to police others for also not stupidly obeying these obtuse laws.
  20. Exactly Typical SJW response - why let the facts get in the way of your permanent state of outrage?
  21. Irony much? but then sophisticated humour was never the domain of the SJW
  22. Yup, the crying came on thick and fast. Herd immunity - look it up sunshine. All the SJW moaning is very righteous, and I'm sure makes for good warm feelings of self-congratulations, but everyone is just going to catch C19 when the lockdown lifts. You do realise that all the lockdown does is to allow for better preparation to handle the influx of patients, right? It does NOTHING to eradicate the virus or create herd immunity. So all you are doing is delaying the deaths of the unfortunate, like the grandmother you referred to or whatever
