  1. After leading the London 6 day GC for a while, poor Cav & Owain Doull ultimately got beat by Viviani & his partner in the final few sprints in the final event of the London 6 Day. He was not a happy chap, walked out of an interview with the Beebs.after the race, had his super grumpy face on. Owain had to make amends.
  2. Indian summer
  3. He is such a big brand presence, so him just showing is face is worth $$$. His 30 (?) TdF wins will always be mentioned, but lets be real he won't be taking any more grand tour sprint stages, there is always an influx of new young fast talent. the shelf life of sprinters is very short, look at his contemporaries they are all gone, gone gone. Even Peter Sagan star is waning. So the value of his new team its probably just having him there, just hope we wont have all the drama again of him being big upped for wins time and time again. But he has been drilling it on London but a 20 min team madison or a derny race is not the same as a Grand Tour stage. Lets see though, he has been good to watch in London, Still two more nights btw (its on the BBC)
  4. From what I am hearing on the BBC's coverage of the London 6 day, Cav is hoping to get on the GB Tokyo Track Olympic team. He neat Viviani again tonight in the final sprint in the team Madison type race but this is the same as a grand tour stage, right....
  5. He is currently pleasing the poms at the London 6 Day. He beat Viviani in a sprint last night and won a few other events but currently his team bit down on the GC, I don't think he will be a factor/ Is the Cav Back?
  6. Besides that, Russia is asserting itself and making friends where it can. Trump and the USA has dissed the whole of the continent so that leaves space for others, like the Chinese and the Ruskies. The world order is changing.
  7. PW & BJ will be spinning in their graves! But how is frigging press invitation: a day before the event! and it wouldn't be worth much if there wasn't an "unpacking" involved. And the general public? when do we get to see these legends up close & personal.
  8. Made worse by being squeezed in against the side of the aircraft by a big boytjie suiping whisky non stop.
  9. On that subject I know someone who worked at SAA Technical his entire life, who spent his time there waiting for retirement day, who would not sit at the same table as black person, had a lekka braai made from to nicked Ti jet engine exhaust flange / pipe, he was very proud of it.
  10. I would not be surprised at all if this was true. but surely there should be public records of how these budgets are spent? if any SA athletes succeed it will be despite ASA, same can be said for CSA
  11. Quite possibly the supersonic shock wave? Those things are weird and wonderful.
  12. And no exports
  13. One can see the heritage of the B1B from the F111 They dropped the escape capsule idea in the B1A prototypes in favor of tradition ejection seats
  14. wtf
  15. No surprise given the supply chain has been subject to BEE etc The fundamental problem with this policy is that the scrutiny, checks & balances are removed and replaced by delusions of entitlement.
  16. Retired in 2010 according to the interweb, replaced by F18 Designed in the 1960's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Dynamics_F-111C http://ab.lattimore.id.au/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/dsc_0157_cropped.jpg
  17. This latest version of MS Flight Sim uses actual satellite images of the ground pulled off servers which takes virtual flying to another level: the 3D simulated surface of FSX never did it for me but it remains to be seen how realistic it will simulate it in 3D say if you want to do some mountain flying, which I certainly would like to do. Back in the day i used to practice my skills by flying in between the twin towers of the World Trade Centre ... little did know.
  18. F111 still in active service there?
  19. With you there Spokey. although not current I've found Flight Sim to be nothing like the real thing in terms of feeling and sensation of flying, whats its value to avaitors is for training and type familiarisation to some extent. I've still got the DOS version on my bookshelf here, back in the day it was a good test as to how compatible your compatible PC was LOL
  20. Low on fuel apparently .... Soyuz still flying, after all these year,
  21. Russian aviation is interesting, considering its roots in the USSR, known fondly in the good ole bad ole days as "Commie bastards". Russia is visa free free for South Africans, keen to visit sometime, maybe catch a Soyuz launch.
  22. Been watching the Track & Field World Champs @ Doha on the Beebs via Getflix - brilliant in all aspects, besides the near empty stadium. Basil Fawlty even got a mention last night.
  23. Built in three years and cost less than the Runway 3 @ Heathrow plan #GoChina
  24. Getflix uses DNS tricks and is not a VPN as such, although they do offer a VPN service thrown in as well. I use it many to access BBC programes.but check there list of channels for what you can access. VPN's generally route all your traffic to a server in another country that adds overhead.
