  1. Yeah flew overhead here, on short finals for ORT as we speak ...
  2. Lucky he walked away from that! That story could easily have had a very diferrent ending. Complacency and overconfidence imho....
  3. Nice!
  4. There is a lot in the film to absorb, and I don't think its dated, it has aged well like a true work of art imho. This "Final Cut" mix is really good, and there some brilliant acting. The script is thick and intense, certainly not formulaic, and the message, the message. Young varsity student son on my mate came with, he enjoyed it although it was not like anything he had seen before, but he is a conscientious bright young thing. I also saw it circa 1987 in Hillbrow, it didn't get a release here when it first came out in 1979, for what reason I don't know. I think it was the first time I saw Marlon Brando and by that stage he was huge both in stature and body mass. Apparently took up most of the budget as well and only appears in the closing scenes really. But go back in this mans filmography: The Wild One, A Streetcar Named Desire, Sayanara, One Eyed Jack to name a few and then you start to understand what the hype is about. and yeah, Last Tango in Paris is brilliant although that was banned here, everyone thought it was a porn film.
  5. Un-freakiing-believable . wait this is SA ,anything goes. Where did this idiot get his/her training? was not respect for controlled airspace made painstakingly clear? Which reminds me of my bloops in this regard, on a flight down to CPT in a Piper 6 got stuck at Woester by bad weather CT side which eventually cleared. Did file a flight plan but one still has to contact ATC and get permission to enter the controlled airspace, but the problem was the mountains where in the way so I stuck my head in to the bottom of the controlled airspace and then established radio contact and was cleared in but when landed the ATC dudes called me up to the tower and KUKKED me out in no uncertain terms, You do not enter controlled airspace without permission regardless let alone land on the frigging taxi way at a major airport. Name and shame!
  6. I dunno ... hard to think of any stand-out talent in the team
  7. There or thereabouts! How about this one: 4 Mathieu van der Poel (Ned) Corendon-Circus
  8. Relative to what came before her and all those Brit fighters built in the 50;s, I think she is a beaut.
  9. Interested to hear from anyone seen this for the first time - what are your thoughts?
  10. Anyone who enjoyed the major work of art previously will enjoy "the final edit" in the imax
  11. Did he walk or was he pushed? Anyone who believes Cav can win sprints again is deluded in my opinion.
  12. In my experience good stuff but there are limited options here. They have a few cheapos of tools on my wish list but that I am suspect of for some unknown reason ie https://www.toolcraft.co.za/collections/metabo/products/metabo-compound-mitre-saw-kgs-216m Recently got one of their compressed air right angle wrench goodie with sockets, very nice kit. https://www.toolcraft.co.za/collections/metabo/products/metabo-compressed-air-ratchet-drs-68-set-1-2?variant=26371080771
  13. Good to see Cav finding his form at the first sprint stage @ Tour de Deutsch 100 Mark Cavendish (GBr) Team Dimension Data van was top 10 though 7 Reinardt Janse van Rensburg (RSA) Team Dimension Data and 25 Enrico Gasparotto (Swi) Team Dimension Data
  14. Some of my latest Makitas look and feel plastikly but they are lightweight and work hard.
  15. Better Bosch Green than Ryobi imho although they do have a 'pro' range as well, its generally cheap and nasty
  16. its mostly about duty cycle - Bosch Green is still good but not meant to be used day and and day out by pros. So for occasional DIY use the budget tools are fine./
  17. Eurosport was saying yesterday its all a bit of a right ole ballz up - current team wants to keep him but no contract signed and its still on going therefore he can't sign with other teams as yet.
  18. Off to see the remastered "Apocalypse Now" on the imax 2nite with my best jippogat draft dodger buddies lol
  19. Take a look at Makita 18v range - there is lots of options and its money well spent. BPM Toolcraft have some keenly prices kits and thereafter you can buy tool only and batteries as you need them. try get Brushless versions if you can, much more efficient / compact / good power to weight ratio / batteries last longer. That said, sadly SA product range here lags the international market, but BPM is prob, your best bet.
