  1. And then this happened. Got pulled off my bike at the bottom end of Koeberg/Adderley rd in Durbanville, close to the Philadelphia rd T junction. White 1st gen Opel Corsa bakkie, CAW registration. 3 x coloured males. I just finished repairing a flat wheel, and just pushed of to get going again. the Corsa appeared out of nowhere and cut me off. Chap on back of the bakkie jumped off and grabbed my bike. While I was grappling with him, passenger jumped out and came for me. I let go of bike and grabbed my pepperspray from my back pocket. I sprayed wildly at them, and they quickly retreated and threw my bike onto the back of the bakkie, jumped onto bakkie and raced off. I got some of the spray in my eyes and could not read rest of the numberplate, it happened so fast in any case, would say from start to finish, less than 30 seconds. Did not see any weapons, but chap that grabbed my bike was very agressive, shouting "los, los, los" the whole time. Luckily a Samaritan stopped after I walked only a few 100 meters, and brought me home. Can you believe, the only morning I forgot/left my phone at home, could not phone for help. Shucks, I could not even remember my wife's telephone number to phone her while we were driving home. They got away with my bike, a white Solis Scoria, white Fizik saddle, white American Classic Sprint 350 wheels, and then my Edge 500. Bike is fairly unique, not many of them around. Scrounging around for photo's to post of bike.
  2. Nee man, Fanie........
  3. You guys in the Freestate should not complain about the wind. Ek meen, as daai "Vrystaatse Opdraendes" eers begin waai, dan staan die stofwolke sommer. Many years back, we did a inter-provincial championship race from Bloem, on the Reddersburg rd (out and back) into the teeth of a howling wind. At the turnaround point the ave was just over 20km/h. Getting back to Bloem, we were nudging 40km/h avg.
  4. For it to gather momentum......
  5. Sorry to disappoint you okes, but the wind has been blowing for a few weeks already.
  6. He sent me a photo with a 650ml front, 500ml rear in exactly the same frame I have, so I trust it will fit.
  7. Will be 500ml bottle in rear cage, normal 650ml bottle in front one.
  8. My 2012 Scott Spark Elite only takes one bottle in the triangle. So for R900.00 I get at least 500ml extra. (my tool bottle lives on my seatpost mounted bottle cage)
  9. Contact Dale and ask him, he is a proper bloke, will assist you with a smile. oh 8 three 745 8003. Contact him via wattsapp.
  10. Great news. Dale confirmed to me that the Holy Rail Dual Cage Kit will fit the 2012 - 2016 Scott Spark frames. You will however need the smaller bottle in the rearmost cage.
  11. But as a basis for the future 350LC transplant, good call or not? I can get it cheap enough to warrant it standing till I get my ducks in a row for the 'stroker build. Cancel, bike just got listed as "SOLD"
  12. Andy, I can get a '88 or '89 model FZR250Genesis for an excellent price. Current owner says motor is still fine, but not running due to "electrical" issue (wiring apparently) I think if I can get it going, it will make a great little runaround untill such time I can source and build a 350LC motor. Question is, can you get harnesses for it, should it need a harness replacement.
  13. I got me one of these, 32 T Oval, with 6mm offset. Did my first ride this morning. Felt a bit "off" for the first 100 meters, thereafter it was smooth sailing.
  14. Even after three weeks, my two Pekingeses pups are not trusting the wild bundle of energy we brought into "their" house. The little Kitten, she is not fussed, just wants to play with them all the time.
  15. Boom, that's done. 2019 membership renewed. Can't wait to go and pick my BPP board up.....
  16. Wish I had the moolah to buy it. But things might change before you decide to sell, so give me a head sup when you do decide to sell.
  17. Has been addressed. Now have double airbags and ABS, which it did not have before. Some other safety changes was also made. Let's wait and see how it now performs in the Ncap tests. (doubt there will be much improvement )
  18. I got mine from Evobikes.
  19. Ah, so you used the magnifying glass....
  20. Is that all you got from those photo's? Dude, I'm worrying about you.....
  21. I hear you, but no. I would like a modern looking and handling Two Stroke. Still think an 350LC into the R3 would be the bees knees. (but it is pie in the sky at this moment) Have you seen the 2019 R3? It looks like a miniature R1, on point!! https://news.maxabout.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/2019-Yamaha-R3.jpg
  22. Awhhhh, he is too beautiful, hope he pulls through.
  23. While I was still in my wild phase in the 90's (and could afford the cars ) I used to drive through from Gaberone to just outside Pelindaba, to drag race on that stretch of unfinished/unused highway (Rock Raceway I think it was called) Many a Sunday I would end up smack bang in the middle of a group of motorcycles. They used to give me about a 100m gap front and behind, and then it was pedal to the metal on the stretch past the Satellite Station, with the speedo hovering between 220 -240 km/h. Stopping over the highway bridge, the brakes was smoking and the turbo glowing red hot. Ahh, those were the days......
  24. I've had numerous cats before, my wife never, this will be her first kitten.. Only problem is, cats usually loves me, so I just hope Phoebe will bond with my wife also.
  25. We are getting a kitten this afternoon. Bit apprehensive, as I do not know she will fit in with our "pack" of two Pekingese doggies. They are 5 yr old siblings, used to the house belonging to them. Picture taken 3 weeks back when we went to pick her, she was the only one not accounted for yet.
