I need some real world advice....29er full sus Pilot, average weekend rider enjoys racing mid to upper part of field. Question is do i spend a load of cash on a 1300gr set of carbon wheels or a 1450gr set of aluminium that will be less than half the price, coming from a standard set at 1800gr odd. What to do?

I had a incident there a few weeks ago, and when I approached the security all I got was.......eish.......all they do is collect the cash at the gate and NOTHING else. suppose they think the crooks come in the front gate rob peeps and then leave via the main gate.....stooooopid.

Went ridding at Groennies today, at around 2 pm coming down the switch backs on Botha Ave side a individual entered through the fence/gate......no uniform, wearing a pink hat, and in shorts and looking lekker dronk..... Reported to maIn gate.....no action Reported to security at cars.......no action Reported to "Security chief".........no action Seems they more like interested in doing NOTHING...........

Just that......all shifting patterns the same on shifters.....changing from bike to bike, gets annoying some times, the differences that is.

Keen to hear as well......would like to try it.....makes a 1x10 nice and affordable and could be the sweeter option. I have XTR on race bikes....XT on training bikes....wouldn't mind same feeling across all at more reasonable price.

My 2c. The gate at the bottom at George Storrar is not doing much. Looked at it today, it's easy to get underneath and bet a bike out as well. I think the gates intergrity should be restored.....no getting under it.

For the last 12 years I have carried a gun....North American Arms .22. Got me out of three sticky situations thus far......not fun at all. I used to ride with it until I doscovered The Hub....read we're the *** is and stay away......don't ride with it anymore. When we ride were it might be ended I take it, no hassle clips onto your bib and stays there. No hassle. Six of one half dozen of the other thread this......give the chop your bike lie down and let it be.....go buy another bike.

I have a new set of Magura Brakes and SRAM XO form a Spezilaized Marathon.....never been used. Changed to Shimano group set complete. The question is what can expect to sell the stuff for......need to pay for the Shimano stuff.

This is the reason I don't ride with cycle shops outrides on road bikes........4/5 abreast on a narrow road......and then a car to follow enforcing and encouraging this type of riding.

That's the only benefit....... Mates of mine on 1x10/11 all moan a lot when they get the front blade ratio wrong, they suffer. Where 2x10/11 you have a bail out gear. The overlap on a 2x10/11 is smaller than 3x10/11 thus the gears you have you use correctly.........that's my view

I run a 2x10 with 25/38 up front and a 40/11 on rear, OneUp conversion on rear and I spend 95% do the time in 38 up front and use the 25 as a bail out when I'm spent or the climb has beaten me, it's like a 1x11 with a bailout option.......love this.

Best way to get ride of them lazy slippers..............sneeze, and then clear your throat....just before the single track. Lol lol

Reading this I must blerrie lucky, my Hilux is 2006 model had it since new, and I stay in Pta and I go to Lynwood Bridge a lot........lol
