  1. Hope Vision 1 - ideal for backmarkers on the Transbaviaans, Ride to Rhodes, ....
  2. It is going to be interesting to see how Racetec solve this, it was not only the A8s, but also A7, A6, A5. My wife finished 4th in her age group behind 3 A8's - one of which had an average speed faster than Carl Platt!
  3. There was a 10 hr 15 min cut-off at the 30k mark' and we were then routed onto the short route. It is rediculous that we have the times we have - but there is no way to seperate out the times. They should have DQed us at the cut-off.
  4. There are some excellent rides out to OysterBay - 56k from St Francis Bay and back, add another 20 or so from Cape St Francis.
  5. I went Atera- bought it through RackandCarry.co.za - excellent service, and very happy with the Atera
  6. We are not in the North, but the East - see http://www.spinningatbulla.blogspot.com/
  7. send you some gpx tracks - St Francis to Oyster Bay, around Paradise beach, and the TransBaviaans tracks. Enjoy the riding
  8. My wife and I have road and MTBs, but I can't keep up with my wife. We just started to also ride a MTB tandem - wife in the front - having a great time
  9. will probably be there - sounds good
  10. 83.4 (must see dietician)
  11. 84.0 pretty much the same
  12. Unortunately, they left Gerda Gruner's name off as a 2010 finisher at 24 days, 13 hours & 40 min. They are trying to correct this in the TV programme or the DVD.
  13. The DVD for the 2010 event should be availale soon. The DVD for the 2009 event is available from the FC web well worth ordering.
  14. 84.8 - not making progress
  15. The litter on all road rides always concerns me, and I was wondering why the anouncer at the start did not make an issue of it. But - I was very suprise how well the route was cleaned up compaired to last year. We normally drive the route on the Monday, and with the exception of one small area, the route had really been cleaned up well! Last year the route was packed with baboons licking the old gel packets, and this year we did not see a single baboon scavanging on the Monday. Well done to the organisers on cleaning up the route so effciently - now lets try stop the cyclists discarding their gel packets in the first place.
  16. Doing my 5th But the fun part is sundowners in Campsbay, dinner afterwards in Fish hoek, .....
  17. 85.3 - going backwards
  18. This is an absolute mess! No attention to the basics
  19. Fully agree - this is a much wider problem than the CSA or JMPD - but includes values and cultures of motorists in SA. The JMPD have a huge role in what it is today.
  20. very very poor - a world class African city? - this is not what we need
  21. Eish - this is not acceptable - embarrassing
