  1. WH, I used to maintain an average of about 94. I used to get comments about it being high on the flats. I then started to ignore cadence and just focus on power. I found that my performance on hills went for a ball once my cadence dropped to about 84 but I could maintain on the flats better. I think everyone has a band at which they are most efficient and that they should find it and train to it. But I am not sure that the likes of Bikemax & other power guru's would agree with that.
  2. I disagree, Eben came on with a bs story, then Crux came on with an equally questionable statement. Babbelkous obviously has more to say and then chunky came on and all but named the supplier. There are also rumours that Eben wasn't the only one. Crux needs to do his investigation or whatever it was that prevented him making a clear cut statement "for or against" Once it is out and he makes that statement then move on ...
  3. And by the way both "statements" look to be carefully crafted. By the same person????? Should we be phoning Le Equipe yet?
  4. fertiliser from pretoria out
  5. Has the grapevine been fertilised? yep with phenylephywhatever
  6. grapevine now says 3
  7. who it appears is not quite as up to date as chunky.
  8. but I can't find chunky's competitor in pretoria
  9. Based on the replies from some of his team members clearly it didn't go unnoticed... Inwhich case Crux would also have been aware of it. So to come on here with statements about others wringing hands in glee ... feel sorry for me ... doubting sponsorship ... I won't make any statements one way or the other ... bla blah is just as dishonest as Eben's sob story
  10. Very Sharp
  11. Always wondered what TCS stood for. Now I know - Testosterone, Cortizone & Steroids
  12. Very interesting. Anyone who has ridden a bicycle competitively is well aware that they need to be careful with ANY pharmaceuticals. So I definitely don't buy the ignorance thing. If he were really sick then why race. If he were really sick then how did he overcome this to achieve a placing? Then to come onto a public forum with the excuse smacks of more dishonesty. I wonder what the official TCS position on this will be? Should we be phoning Le Equipe??
  13. Won the first race race I ever rode and nothing ever since! Coincidentally this was also the last One Tonner. I think that PPA was so embarrassed they dropped it forever. I had been cycling for a few weeks - bought a road bike bike the day before the race after everyone told me I wouldn't finish on my Avalanche MTB. The One Tonner is a handicap race and because I had no record I was in the 3rd or 4th group out of the blocks. Rode most of the thing alone in a howling north wind with a lady by the name of Desiree . Finished 20 mins ahead of the racing guys - Rodrigues & Bejamin somebody.
  14. Many of use this road daily. It really is scary. He was hit from behind. Just spoke to the cops. They are still looking for a young white male driving a Black VW Polo. He was driving erratically and they have reports from other cyclists of near misses with this vehicle between Muizenberg and Simonstown this morning. They have information that someone of his description "works on one of the ships". Apparently there are "cameras" in Simonstown and they are hoping to get a number plate. I recall a near miss with a black Polo at Froggy pond a few weeks ago. Probably the same f**ker! One of those bastards that gets as close as he can, for fun.
  15. Cops say that they were probably Navy jokers on their way back to base after a night out. A group that arrived on the scene said that the Golf had just missed them a few minutes earlier at Glencairn. Edit: I am told that the family have been advised and as we have a few members with the name Chris I think it's appropriate to clarify that it was Chris A. RIP ChrisWindbreaker2008-11-15 02:27:58
  16. Ooops or is it
  17. GoLefty seems to be on a crusade against bmp & power tap. I recall other "misquotes", inuendo & allegations that were uncovered as bullsh*t. If you are considering power training I suggest you ignore GoLefty's input.
  18. Sorry, can't agree with this. It works ... sort of ... I have had two - the original with the S75 and now also the new CS600. The CS600 is better but still suffers from the same fundamental problems. Having said that I feel that it is miles ahead of the iBike. Go with a PT if you are serious about power training.
  19. We spotted you guys at about 10 am on the Monday with a beaut of a headwind (on the N2 still) We did the reverse trip from Gordons Bay to Knysna and reading this I am wondering when I can find time to spend another week on the bike. I love the touring bit ... Windbreaker2008-07-29 11:33:26
  20. Kimmage has a long history of pursuing the cheats (and makes money from his writing) so this is quite refreshing from him. But Chunky and others still insist that they all dope? Has he come out with the scoop on the other African rider that was going to be implicated?
