  1. Exact thing happened to me in january... Owner was also aggressive and defensive toward me.. He even went as far as saying to me that I had no witnesses!! Absolute shocker.... I was going about 40kph... Bike was badly damaged and I was badly roastied head to toe.....
  2. You don't have to use mineral oil in mavic hubs, you can use any light oil ie. 3in1... Sewing machine type oil.
  3. Good music......
  4. Its pretty simple..... bikes and cycling related stuff is very expensive. Most people dont want to make too many expensive mistakes when buying bikes and R1500 bibs etc...... So we look to the pro's equipment and kit, and model our purchases around them... Because "its tried and tested"...... Hence sponsorship plays suck a large marketing roll for manufacturers....
  5. Ever been riding in baggies and as you shift back to go down a steep drop, the baggies catch the nose of the saddle..... ? Ever been going down a fast rocky decent without your feet clipped in and your foot slips off the pedal?
  6. The problem for Froome and Uran is that they probably on huge $ contracts at Sky. Any move would probably mean a pay cut, but the chance to lead a team and give TDF win a bash? I think Sky has beeeg bank account?
  7. I was lucky enough to see the F18 Blue angels at Seattle Sea fair..... just mind blowing..
  8. This has nothing to do with the frame.... Most probably the rear derailler hanger is bent... easily fixed with a hanger straightner tool. Or the crank has been incorrectly fitted and the chainline is way out?
  9. Factory specific wheels like your Fulcrums require hubs and parts that are specific to them, as opposed to traditionally built wheels. The problem you will encounter is finding a set of hubs to suit your fulcrum spokes and rims. Them will probably have to be Fulcrum hubs... You might be better off selling your wheels and buying a lighter set. Or get some traditional style hubs and rims ie.32 hole Mavic open pro rims and 32 hole shimano hubs... and get a good wheel builder to buils you a classic wheelset..
  10. Scott.. 69,5 degree..... Very confident down steep stuff..
  11. i had the giant hardtail.. 71,5 degree... nice and nippy, but going down steep rocky decents you get get the sensation of going over the handle bars when you were on the brakes. Now iv got a Carbon Scott scale.. 69 degree head angle.... super stable and awesome confident going down steep stuff... climbing steep tight switch bcks is no problem, but the giants geometry handled that better..
  12. Once.... i came across 5 hot chicks struggling with a puncture...... i stopped and helped them... No, jokes aside, that really did happen.... But with regards to helping commuters out, theres no question, you have to stop... Sometimes it something quick and simple and he wont be late for work... and besides, you will have a friend for life on the road...
  13. Eldron.... i have come to the realisation that my road training has to happen between 4am and 6am on quieter roads... At 7am on a busy road, driving into the sun with a dewy or dirty windscreen??.... Some unfortunate mom taking her kids to school could kill you... and her life is also ruined..... Not fair on her.....
  14. The article has some very valid points... when i'm driving on a busy road, i to am nervous around a group of cyclists... Ironicly, i spend more hours a week on my bike then in a car..... But iv learnt to be fair to all road users and only ride on quite roads in the very early hours...
  15. New type 2 X0 derailler.... tired of my chain jumping off chainrings at the bottom of fast bumpy decents... Anyone used one yet? any feedback?
  16. Camerons.... if you dont mind me asking? Where/who can we get 101's from here in KZN.... and what can i exect to pay roughly? Have you ridden them yet? Cheers
  17. I'v been bashing mine around for ages and they are still dead true and 100%.... Something i really like about the rear hub is the steel inserts on the freehub body to stop the cassette chowing into it....
  18. I know where you coming from and i have days that are government freaks me out.. But every once in a while i come across some good that is being done.... Sad thing is, often this good is coming from the private sector..
  19. Well... The changes that need to happen are going to be seriously tough if everyone adopts your attitude. Believe it or not Mojoman, there actually is some good going on out there in SA.... Stop looking for the bad and might realise it.
  20. I think we are 5 years into a 20 year mind set change. Why i say this is..... For safer roads, there needs to be a huge shift in SA. One that will take at least 20 years and one that starts with harsh law enforcement. Up till about 5 years ago, i would think nothing of getting behind the wheel after a few beers at a braai and driving home? I think most can relate? But now days, its a no no.... I see my 18 year old nephew's view on drinking and driving... its very different to what mine was when i was 18!! Anyway, the general drinking and driving view amongst us has shifted in the last 5 years and there is 15 years of harsh law changes to do the rest??
  21. Think i got lucky!!! i got the last one from Cape union mart at xmas time!! apparently it was the last one across cape union SA and last one in SA till March?
  22. Thanks Robox
  23. How do you see all your acheivements/KOM's all in one place on Strava?
  24. Another question, whats the best file format to convert to and which program. I converted to WMV. but the loss of quality is bad?
