  1. I think it was Ian Stanard who did the protecting towards the end? He's giving stanard a pat on the back..
  2. No, you wont have a problem with them, they good wheels, BUT.... if on a Saturday morning mtb ride, you get a stick in your spokes and break one... you wont be riding on sunday!!! Chances are, you wont be riding those wheels for a month while waiting for a very expensive replacement spoke.. However if you riding custom wheels with normal "j" bend spokes and you get a stick jammed in your spoke and break one, even at a stages race..... a) your 31 remaining spokes tend to keep the wheels pretty straight to get you home.. and B) b. When you get to the race village, you will almost certainly find another spoke for about R10 at the first mechanic guy find...
  3. Found this...... Quite helpfull!!!
  4. Guys, 'pressfit 30" and "BB30" are 2 different frame BB's. If you want to run a Shimano crank in a "Pressfit 30" frame... then you just buy a shimano pressfit BB.... Or if you running SRAM, then you just buy a pressfit GXP BB. However, if your frame is BB30... then you need to put in a BB30 to BSA adaptor, which you just thread your normal Shiamno threaded BB or Sram GXP BB into... The difference lies in the width of the BB housing. The BB30 frame has a BBwidth of about 73mm i think. Which is about the same as the BSA frame. so once you fit the adaptor and thread the cups in you end up with an overall of about 92mm. The "Pressfit 30" BB frames are already about 92mm wide. So here you just press in your "Pressfit 30" BB
  5. The "Spanish Armada" failed to capitalize on a golden opportunity on sunday.... I hope AC's fighting talk does come together next week to make for exciting racing in the Alps... But Froome Dawg all the way!!! As for the doping speculation.... Dont speculate, just enjoy the tour and let doping control do their job..... If there are possitive tests this year... then we spit on them!!! until then, just enjoy!
  6. Julias..... Is that you?...... Lol... Jokes aside, I've got expensive bibs and Chinese cheapy's.... Trust me Azonic, there IS a difference!

    XX1

I'v got bikes with Sram X0 and Shimano XT, with Type 2 and shadow plus clutch deraillers.... cant speak for XX1, but my thoughts as follows:- Sram -- Does seem to do well in muddy conditions... But shifting is very tactile and mechanical... and the trigger down shift is very sensitive ie. if you going along a rough section you are probably going to down shift twice when wanting to drop a gear as your finger tap taps the release.. also, i find myself adjusting the barrel screw on the shifter during most rides to get shifting spot on... Shimano XT -- Shifting is more refined and 2 to 1 cable pull stops you over shifting at the back... once setup i never feel the need to fiddle while riding.. also 2 way release triggers are nice... and you dont get the probllem of two down shift on the bumpy sruff... Nothing wrong with X0, but part of my thoughts are on shifting when im riding it.... When im riding my XT i seem to think less about the shifting and drivetrain?
  11. If you referring to monkeys, then yes, monkeys are a problem there... No human thief problems. It's in game reserve area, so not sure if you will be allowed to ride on the entrance road..... Outside of that there nowhere to ride.
  12. No, its just as a result of the torque of the pedal power on an individual cogs.
  13. You can get up to 4 chains per cassette.... change your chain before its to far worn and your cassettte will last much longer.... your cassette only wears when you are running a worn chain on it... Also, about the deore cassette, if the freewheel hub on your wheel is an aluminium one, the deore cassettes bigger cogs will cut into it. The deore cassettes have seperate cogs on the big ones. the XT has the big ones on a carrier which spreads the load on the alu free hub... Deore cassettes are designed to run on steal free hub bodies. Dont get me wrong.... the deore cassettes last and shift beautifully, but they can chow into an alu freehub..
  14. I think it's a good marketing match.... LA being the bad boy of cycling.. I think Parlee want to be seen as a cult type brand after they were represented by the dude In the movie Primium rush.
  15. I'v got a rule of thumb.... Second hand cycling gear in very good condition, should sell for half of the recomended retail price. Iv bought and sold some great stuff on that basis. I think thats very fair dealing.
  16. you will see that the bottom one doesnt have any left to right play and runs with a slightly different bearing. i think because the bottom one carries more chain tension load. The top one has a little left to right play. I think this is to allow the chain to line itself up a bit better on the cassette as its probably impossible to set it exact? Well, thats the conclution i'v drawn? if i'm wrong, can someone correct me?
  17. Levi leiphiemer??
  18. No, that looks like a Cannondale he's on... not a Giant?
  19. I also noticed his cadence looked slow when he overtook one of the other guys? Maybe Lance was wrong and Jan was right all these years??!!!!

Yip, but i suspect the risk of mercury contamination in the open ocean is lower then the risk of the processes from ship, to handling, to machines chopping, squashing, CANNING, etc..... Anyway, my chirp was just tongue and cheek!!
  21. Only eat what you catch!!!
  22. 100% right..... i did one of the early Sani2c's (back when it was just skinny mtber's there!!) with tyre liners and got 4 punctures on day 2.... could'nt work out WFT.... then noticed the tyre liner corner and edges was chaffing throught the tubes...
  23. Those records are going to stand for a long time...... The new era of cycling is probably not going to be as exciting with regards to fast attacking climbing? For all the right reasons though...
  24. i see Leipheimers name there? wasnt he bombed in light of Lances confession?
