  1. sounds just right. will check the diary
  2. yes
  3. 2 pages later and we still don't know where the incident took place.
  4. I think the technicality of the course was spot on for a 24 hour race. But the 12km lap did make planning nutrition a bit tricky. 35 to 40 minutes are just short of the refueling mark for me and 2 laps between stops puts me way past the point where I needed nutrition, BUT, it's part of the game and made pit stop planning as important as figuring out the right line at that last climb up from the river.
  5. Just to be clear. How many of you Negative Sally's were actually at the event? I for one thoroughly enjoyed the event. And get this... I was actually there!
  6. Yes... but I spent it all on a http://extremelights.co.za/shop/super-high-capacity-4-cell-6800mah/ battery and charger which lasted the whole night at this weekend's Bicycling 24hour event. Top notch quality.
  7. The race got very interesting in the solo category, but I'm glad Josh took it. The Paige project and event deserved a winner like him. When is the Rosemary hill 24hr?
  8. If I can get a refund for my chinese light order gon wrong, I'm definitely getting 2 of these.
  9. Kay. Now with JHB fun champs out of the way, bring on the real highlight of the 2013 mtb calendar!
  10. Dankie tog smaak verskil ne. I much prefer to have Fox under me when the going gets ruff than RS. I find Fox to be stiffer when things are smoothish but when it starts to work it has a nice linear response that enables me to use a lot more travel than an RS. Tis my opinion based on my experience. Oh and servicing Fox is definitely not brain surgery.
  11. Our great dane didn't seem to mind it too much. It actually looked liked she enjoyed the extra flavour it gave to the doberman. ..
  12. Yoh, that upsets me. Has happened to me lots of times. Makes my pimp hand twitch
  13. I too had an issue with my CC payment. My CC shows the payment as an "uncleared transaction", but the Advendurance site says I still need to pay.
  14. No idea, but it's still down.
  15. Tried to enter now. But I get an error on the enter page. "Unable to resolve server's DNS address" Oh dear...
  16. Bartape and the location of the cycle computer also differ... friggen joke I tell you! ...
  17. I'm not spying wiff my little eye something starting with a "Giant SA" or "Dragon Sport" in the exhibitors list. A sense of disappointment and heart break has befallen me... When oh when will I taste the sweet plushness of a 650b Anthem?
  18. Trol rhymes with something we can't say on an open forum. Plus I don't know what a "droll" is...

    A Sub 3 Argus?

I couldn't turn a 2h39 94.7 into a sub 3 Argus. (Came in at 3h00m37s) and the weather was GOOD this year. Only the first 481 positions got sub 3 braging rights this year. The thing that makes that sub 3 so illusive is the fact that Argus is 15km further than 94.7. At 30km/h 15km takes 30mins... 45km/h to do 15km in 20mins... You need to be quick for sub 3. That and you need to be at the front of the pack when the breaks happen at Smits, Chappies and Suikerbossie.
  20. Lol, Andy, your PPA eligibility letter and your start group at races won't ever match up exactly. If that was the case there would be A batches with only 3 or 4 okes in them at every race
  21. I hear what you're saying, but in practice I'm not sure this is the case. My current PPA seeding is made up of 2 Cowteng races and the Argus: As a side note the seeding lady at R4V never heard of "Berge en Dale"... At least the Engen race got it right over the weekend.
  22. Www.pedalpower.org.za Don't take it as law though, since Race 4 Victory made it seem like races in Gauteng don't use the ppa seeding system any more.
  23. Wie's jou Maxi? n Maxi is n ding wat die dames gebruik. As jy saam met my ry, doen ons die 55km tripple black ninja roete. ;p
  24. Lol, indeed. In heaven with a leather clad lady with a whip Very cool trail. Will be back for some exploring soon.
  25. All this talk of grass? What grass? I don't remember grass being an issue. There isn't even any in my derailleur or cassette. Pain however. Yes. Searing pain in the legs. Yes BTW is "Hakahana" the Spanish word for "pakslae"? Want Hakahana het gister vir my goed pakslae gegee
