  1. I keep getting an error when I try to access easybike: Apache/2.2.24 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.24 OpenSSL/1.0.0-fips mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.easybike.co.za Port 80
  2. There it is. In black and white. This guy gets it. It's not about them or us, taxi's and buses or even cyclists and cars. It's about my attitude when I'm on the road. No matter the mode of transport, we have no respect for others. What can we do about road safety? Treat the road as the deadly place it is. Fail to do so and your and my life will also be lost.
  3. Yup, It explains how it is that old Fritzie is taking all my KOMs It's got nothing to do with his superior skills or fancy bike. It's the phone app I tell you!!!
  4. So now we know Cherise's opinion about that topic... This lady clearly knows what she's talking about
  5. This kinda feels like JB is saying I have an ugly XT baby... While in fact my XT baby isn't ugly... it's special!

    2013 MTB Calendar

First Big clash is Magalies Monster and now to my dismay... The best Trailseeker of the lot (Hakahana) clashes with 3Towers... ag nee man. So there's that top 100 points position for trailseeker new mtb years resolution out the window...
  7. Interesting, I wonder if I spoiled the day of the 2 people who's punctures I fixed or if the guys pushing their partners up those hills actually didn't appreciate a helping hand... If anything, I think the "double lapper" should be made official and be regulated. ie, 5 "double lappers" per Start group from AA and all of them should carry 2 tubes and 2 bombs to donate. Perhaps a couple of Gu, Powerbars or CrampBlocks too to hand out to guys in need.
  8. The weather man says we WILL be getting some good rain from tomorrow up until Sunday morning. Will the trail handle the rain this year? I wouldn't want to go through a repeat of 2009...
  9. KE - sponsored by The Hub SA community... Now that'll get me to watch the highlights every night!
  10. Was a definite highlight on my calendar. Really hope it comes back onto the MTB calendar.
  11. just couldn't do it! had to tap out at 45sec!

    94.7 Expo

You want to avoid the 16h58 north bound train. I hate that train. Shoot for the back cars of the 17h10 or 17h34 trains. That way at least you'll get a seat.
  13. I was getting worried about how quiet this thread was... Does anyone have an idea of the route and route profile? And to the guys going solo, what kind of distance/lap count are you aiming for?
  14. Not to start "that" debate... again... But them clown bikes definitively have an advantage over the otherwise perfect 26ers going down descents like that one. Quite simply because their big clown wheels get more big clown rubber onto the ground and as such, they don't loose traction as early as the otherwise perfect 26ers. So in short; if you couldn't ride it even on a clown bike, then go play at fountains to build that skill set. If you did it on a 26er and had to bail out, don't worry, you'll be able to do it on a clown bike. If you did it all the way on the 26er, well done son. You're living proof that 26ers are better than clown bikes
  15. Was that where the herd of waterbuck (kringgatte) ran across our path just in front of us?
  16. I have a soft spot for this race (It was my very first proper road race 3 years ago) and I'm very pleased with my result on Saturday. But it's impossible to deny that it's a dangerous race and that the start/finish has gotten worse every year. I kept on telling myself to not make a move to get to the front it's too dangerous and just not worth taking chances. I'm of the opinion that the only reason this race is still on the calendar is the fact that it's an Argus seeding race.
  17. Dubber88 and myself tackling the Challenge as team DubMax just need to start some training for this bad boy... Think I'll take the oll dualie for a spin around the block on Sunday...
  18. Jis, ek's so opgewonde oor die enetjie daar kom sommer 'n druppel piepie uit as ek dink aan al daai bos tonnels en enkelspoorpadjies!
  19. 2 things. 1. Are you really as fast as you look on the 1.5x speed video 2. Why would you record yourself taking the smooth chicken mowed down stumps on that climb? Just kidding. Cool vid. I like the stationary cam shots.

  21. I'm sure some other A batch okes are going to chime in here with a big hoo-haa about being taken on the wrong route. It's a shame we lost out because of this, but other than that, the race exceeded my expectations. Lol, I was quite amused how, after the batch decided we wouldn't cross the timing mats, a full out sprint for the line ensued...
  22. The weather prediction solemnly promises no rain in Pretoria after 10am tomorrow. So we should be okay down Rigel
  23. Sure, this is the way it goes. But the momentum you lose waiting for these riders adds up over 70km. Track hoggers and bottle necks put riders trying to get to A batch at a distinct disadvantage compared to riders starting A batch.
  24. So how about the flip side. What about the guys starting, for example A batch, but they're not racing... They drift off the back of the pack and ride side by side on the jeep track having a lekke dik chat, leaving little to no space for guys from B or C, that want to get on with it, to get past. That frustrates me to no end.
  25. I have it on very good authority that one reaches speeds in excess of 80km/h down that hill if there is no head wind... You have to get aero though
