  1. Quality stuff! awesome CWC, Proudly SA!
  2. I had a pleasant, all be it quiet, experience with BikeBits. The price of the part I needed was very competitive and it was in stock... It would have been nice if they had a pic of the item up, but luckily I knew exactly what I was looking for. I paid online, got a payment confirmation email and then 2 days later my part was delivered So at this point I'd give them 7/10, BUT they sent some freebies with my parcel! Nice touch that bumps the Maxumis online store score up to 9/10! Thanks Bikebits.co.za
  3. My 2 wheels of pain Was built as a "run around" but it's proven to be very useful for shaking your teeth from their sockets when one ventures off road Awesome fun.

    Dome 2 Dome

    same predicament here...
  5. Thanks guys. The bike room should look like that until next time I service a bike
  6. My bike room got a make over last weekend I'm just a little perplexed as to how it is that the 7.5 sqr meters of the house that is considered my domain, houses 2 of the GF's bikes...
  7. +1, Have a blast guys!
  8. I spoke to a guard yesterday who said that they are taking the recent happenings very seriously. He also said that the hijacked bike was recovered and that the dad was just there to pick it up. I like the idea of volunteer radio carriers. I for one would be more than willing to pick up and carry a Groenkloof radio with me when doing my laps. If there are 4 radio's with volunteer carriers out on the route at any one time over the weekend any dodgy activity or emergencies could get reported to some sort of response team very quickly.

    Help

Best value for around R7k last time I checked, keeping in mind that you're looking for something for a lady, would be the Scott Aspect 10. Lightest in that range and most likely best specced. The sales guys talk about the Scott frames as being Unisex. My sister and her husband each have one of those, and both of them are happy as can be. Just my 2c of advice; if stuck between deciding between two sizes, go for the smaller one. The smaller bike is easier to control, or so says my girlfriend after going from a medium frame to a small.
  10. SSDD. Car dealerships, event organisers, timing companies, letting agencies etc etc the list is never ending. No matter who you deal with, you turn into nothing once they have their money. It's the way of the world we live in. Might as well accept it and move on.
  11. Shambles or no shambles, there is a pdf out there that says I beat Fritz Pienaar by 9 seconds This one goes in a frame on my bar wall!
  12. hehehe, There she was, walking out the shop with me on the cell, a Spark 40 under one arm and 2 2Bliss rim strips under the other
  13. Any Midstream estates roadies out there? I'd like to hear from you what the best options are to get onto better/safer roads around the estate. Sure the new road down to Nelmapius is great, but I'm not keen on riding Nelmapius, even if it's only a km or two. There is barely space on that road for cars, let alone cars and a skinny wheel bike. The other alternative I can think of is Old Jhb rd north to Uitsig road (Nelmapius to the west of Old Jhb.) But the speed monsters on that stretch scare me even in the car. I'm keen to hear what you guys have to say. PS, I know it's easy avoiding killer cars with the Mtb
  14. "8. Transfers to and from start and finish points to place of residence or alternative location;" Wouldn't necessarily be for nothing... Then again... one might, on the day, rather do it for nothing
  15. Hehehe, I just have to share this! http://www.junkmail.co.za/v-capeads-cape-town-sports-cycling-a-fit-and-attractive-female-cyclist-QZQYCatQX0198QYRgnQX0004QYAdQXF24093QYEdQX201211
  16. Interesting... I had exactly the same times... 2010 94.7 and 2011 Argus...
  17. Inspiring stuff. I wish I had skills like that.
  18. I wanted to get the family involved in this race too. We were thinking of making up 2 man teams of "father and son" and "Hubby and wife" etc etc and have some friendly family competition. We were at 5 teams until we heard what the race fees are. Needless to say, interest diminished. So now, no teams are entering...
  19. I'm not sure why people have this sentiment toward this race. I'm not a climber at all. In fact I got dropped like Naas Botha's rugby ball heading out of Heidelberg this past Sunday, in a race that is as flat as they come, but I got 14th place in B bunch in last year's B&G... B&G has 990m of elevation gain compared to 1250m for 94.7 and 1230m for Argus. It's a lekker race and the perfect place to check if you're Argus ready. Just do it.
  20. I'd love to do this race this year... but alas... Don't know why people are so afraid of this race. It only has one proper hill.
