  1. Lol, yeah. I did Hakahana yesterday and it showed today. Got dropped twice Also stumbled in with a 2h56. All and all a very lekker little race (that almost made me cry like a sissy girl )
  2. I use the volumes as above, but I substitute the FOX Green 10 wt. Damper-side oil bath 155.0 ml with Motul 10W fork oil. The top of the air side gets 5ml Float fluid, and the foam rings get soaked in Float fluid. Mojo, you don't add oil/fluid unless you're doing a full service (ie. new fluids and seals). For the "mini service" (ie. pulling up the dust wipers and cleaning the foam rings) you just re-soak the rings. No adding stuffs. I'd say mini service after 1000km, new oil & rings/seals every 2000km should keep your Fox in tip top shape.
  3. Pure gold. Thanks for this Hayley!
  4. Will definitely go looking for it. Sounds like fun.
  5. Fanx Patches, I shall PING HayleyEarth Cool, we'll be there from the 13th. Perhaps we can stitch together a nice 4 hourish ride around the15/16th? Will be in touch
  6. Perhaps he doesn't want to get his hands dirty...
  7. Howdee folks. We're heading down to the the Boknes/Kenton on sea area next week for a little getaway. We want to take the bikes along and I was wondering if there are any good mountain biking trails. Searches on Strava make it seem like the guys mostly ride road loops up past Alexandria and back. So... do I take the hardtail or duel suspension bike? Any advice from folk in the know?
  8. +1
  9. What format? Road or Mtb? Anything over 24km/h avg on the mtb is some serious shunting...
  10. New race, new route. Doing it on Hakahananana legs. Should be interesting.
  11. *zzzzzzip, flame suit on. Plus I might even be indifferent if it does come to pass, but... If there is any sense or logic at the Argus office, they will not use the results from this race for seeding purposes.
  12. The downhill at 55km is moderately quick. If the wind is right you might see 60km/h. The rest are all very sedate.
  13. The "wall" at 24km is a glitch. It's where I punctured and spent 35min waiting for the sweeper vehicle, but luckily a friend came by and gave me a bomb and a tube. My spares were all waiting for me where I left them on the kitchen table when I got home.
  14. "or a green pudding." I just vommed a little...
  15. Shut your mouth and give me that hamburger!
  16. Started BL last year and got kicked down to HL this year. I'd like to know how they came up with that.
  17. The likely hood of malware on your computer picking up your cc details and sending them to Mr Scumbags is higher than a secure site being hacked. I'm just advising to make sure that the weak spot in security isn't your own computer.
  18. I don't want to open the "how long does a chain last" can of worms, but if that's your first chain, I'd say it's toast.

I'm sure there was some stuff in there for constipation? (Just joking) I pay my moneys to race/ride. The goodie bag is a bonus.
  20. I quite liked "dondering" through Geotek and the "stupid side" of the mountain.
  21. Personally I wouldn't go 1x on a bike that I'm going to spend time on. It's fine as a commuter or lap racer, but it's draining on marathons. My commuter is 1x9. I've chucked it around a couple of laps in team relays and it was fine. Slower than a 3x9 setup, but fine. If you're not a beats of a cycling man you're gonna need your granny in the Sabie areas.

I hope you guys haven't put away your winter gear. It's going to be... cold.
  23. Get a shock pump. Much more accurate. you could try to get to the required pressures with a floor pump (set to Shrader). Just do it far away from that new little one of your's, as you might manage to blow a hole in your hose. I run 85psi front and 155psi rear. anders kan jy gou by my kom draai dan set ons jou gou op.
  24. As said before it's induced current. Carbon and alu bikes are both susceptible, as it happens on my carbon scultura and alu anthem. I suspect the seat post and or seat rails are the actual culprits. The hill outside our estate is dubbed "zapper hill" exactly because of this phenomenon. What I do to counter the zap is to touch my thumb on some bare metal, like the clamp bolt of a shifter. That neutralises the potential voltage difference between your body and the bike. No potential difference, no zap.
  25. You have the vision, you have the job. but just a comment... max slope 35%??? avg slope 8%??? Have you attempted this loop on something with only 2 wheels?
