Westerly wind will mean you will FLY on the cycle. Well on the back end of the course at least. Through town, not so much.

Watch out for the 15km of grass section coming in to Maropeng on Day 1 and out on Day 2. Its soul destroying. Otherwise, great event, well organised, great vibe.

Also used no bombs, tubes etc due to no punctures for partner and myself Didnt use all the Epic Pro, stuff tastes too horrible. Also, didnt use a single bike service or massage service. Those are overpriced and unnecessary.

Sorry, read my post above and the bike time was 5:40 for full IM and 2:40 for this race. Apologies.

My IM 70.3 course time was 3 flat last year in that wind and rain Yip, route 90km. Can't remember too much water on the bike course hey.

Maybe you started in the wrong batch?

Did this last year. Good event. Two loops of 45km for the bike. One hill of about 100m as you come into the turnaround/start finish, rest of race course flat. Got a puncture last year and still biked a 5:40. Run course is 3.5km gradual uphill to turnaround then 3.5km downhill, 3 loops. One water table run start, one at 1.5km and one at the top again. All in all, you should be on course for your quickest 70.3 time of the year.

Well organised. Great route. Great event overall. Will do it again next year.

Results are a f%k up again. Winner of LL bunch did a 2:12! Avg 52kph! Also been entrants have been double counted! Sigh...

Great race. Loved the Piz Buin girls at the start with the sun tan lotion. Well organised and marshalled.
