  1. Got a message from GoPro guy Dewald de Jager "A lot of speculation going around helmet mounting. We have an ongoing relationship with Epic so we will get closure..." Seems like they are still working on having them for Epic, but most races on Sat/Sun could be a problem. Can we use if for Nissan this weekend?
  2. But then they should ban the silly stuffed animals that people ride with on their helmets then too surely?
  3. Heard at the Eqstra this weekend that "All helmet/chest/bike mounted camera's will be removed because they are banned by the UCI..." This true? You cannot ride with them at any event from now on? I do understand the banning of iPods as they limit your ability to hear passers by, but a GoPro? I've entered Cape Epic and Mankele have a few other stage races in mind and if you can't ride with these it will be diminsh my bragging rights post race. Anyone know anything more?
  4. To get the work week off to a good start
  5. Just paid the balance of what i was owing. Entry confirmed! Going to be a good 3 days out...
  6. Giant all the way. That 4 inch Maestro suspension is the best there is...
  7. Do you have a route map?
  8. I see now the site is offline... Much frustration...
  9. I didnt get an email confirm last night, but when i check the Sani2C race (entered both to up my chances), i have an entry loaded in my cart? Does anyone else get this?
  10. Also on the waiting list. What a load of crock. Been trying since 11:59am!!!
  11. If you are in for a more social triathlon experience (those ATC chaps are very serious) try the PTC. www.plumsteadtriathlonclub.co.za
  12. Also going to pull round on Sunday for a last blast...
  13. Did anyone have a Garmin for yesterday's race? Chatted to some okes at the finish and the chaps said 71kms and i see here it was 74kms?
  14. I have to agree for the okes who drove all that way for a 25km race, its not cool. I did the 70km and man it was tough not to pull out after loop 2. 3 loops of the same track is killer...
  15. For the TT enthusiasts. Check this... http://www.cyclingnews.com/features/tour-de-france-tech-time-trial-bike-image-gallery
  16. Was using hammer for a season, but 2 bottles of perpeteum becomes a bit much. Heard much about this 32GI, is it that good?
  17. I must admit, that my training plan (or lack thereof) does leave much to be required. Try slam the trainer a few nights a week, but beside that, work kinda monopolises the sunlight.
  18. Been getting more into MTB in the past year or so after mainly road riding and find that whenever i finish the marathon (60-70km) race, i am hammered with a general decline in output after the 40km mark. I'm not the most unfit chap in the universe, so can only account this to the fact that i am not eating/drinking enough during the event. Currently i use around 2 bottles with filling one up mid race from the waterpoints (so technically 3 bottles) and have a bar mid way. Clearly this road feeding plan that i have adopted isnt sufficient and i need to rethink strategies. What are you guys tried and tested methods to try and beat hitting the wall too early?
  19. Did this race last year. Its k@k far. And hills to the max. Think going to give my knees a break this year
  20. I have used these guys twice to buy two sets of Rudy's and some casual glasses. They are TOP. Delivered to your door in 7 days (cant be a postal address). If you budy Rudy's then the shipping is free. They have a dedicated SA person who looks after local orders, and when they found out that the colour of Rudy Exowinds where out of stock, i was offered a full refund or option of a different colour. Chose the other colour No import duties as delivered by courier. Think my Rudy projects were R822 landed cost at my door. Here they retail at R2k. These guys are as good as CRC, maybe better. Good luck with your purchases.
  21. Where do we enter this?
  22. Anyone seen the course? Muddy after the rains this week?
  23. You must be kidding! So if you want to do more that one, say JHB, bela bela and DBN, its going to cost you like 4-5k including travelling!
  24. Brett is your best bet. He has everything and a well stocked shop. Was there last month getting my MTB frame. Really good service too.
