These are my thoughts. Get the Hr version. It still connects to the belt if you need accurate* Hr. If you want to ride a race without the belt or you forget your belt, you still have Hr. *So the Hr is only not accurate in a few situations. That is intervals or perhaps when on a mtb and the watch is bouncing on your wrist. You may also want advanced hr features like V02 max etc. So back to my initial advice, why not have the Hr version and when you need the advanced features or in training use the belt.

Unless you have a big TV and Fibre, then 480p is not great quality. I stream on Hd and i smash 100gig a month easily. I now have uncapped 25mgb line and am streaming UHD which would essentially be 4 x as much data as HD. So its all relative. What I have found while upgrading internet speeds over the years is your consumption increases with speed. Its just too easy to click on HD when it doesn't need to buffer.

You will have to be at your optimal weight for a start. Can't be carrying any extra kgs.

I agree completely and have experienced similar. Last year 94,7 I rode a 3:17. This year with the help of a coach and a power meter I am riding VA and now looking towards a sub 2:30 94,7. Its really about what you do with the power meter. If you just have it to look at the numbers you wont get anywhere. But with the right focus on the numbers you can maximize your training and really improve.

So I got the 650D with the 18 - 135 stm lens and its great. I found that most of the cameras in that price range were very similar, all as good as the other with a few feature differences. I like the 18 - 135mm as it does everything I need. The quality is good and it means less changing and always ready to shoot. I am already however finding individual lenses that I may want to buy. Another thing you should be aware of is this camera is not full frame, so when people talk about the 50mm lens being 'The Standard" you will be talking about a 31mm lens. This is nb when deciding which lens package to go for. Personally I would go for the 650d or 700d. There are some nice improvements over the 600d and some great packages out there.

Just curious Dirt Rider, all these additional compounds are they from after market companies? I have only ever seen one or two shimano variations. Usually metal sintered and Organic/Resin.

I changed from resin to metal and hated every minute I rode with them. Changed straight back to resin. Wet weather and mud I can agree metal will wear better but for all other riding the resin performance is absolutely tops.
