  1. I bought myself the Garmin EDGE 500 about two months ago. Before that I used a Polar RS300 and bike computer. The Garmin is the best peice of equipment I have had to date. Single unit that records every peice of data you can think of. No overcrowded handlebar and extra sensors that need attachind (unless you use the speed/cadence sensor). ANT+ compatabillity makes it easy to attach a PowerTap without needing the specific PowerTap computer. No need to switch between Bike 1 and 2, no wheel calibration. Very easy, very powerful, very accurate.

  9. Might come on thursday....
  10. I had a Polar and bought a Garmin Edge 500 this week. Heart rate on the EDGE works better and the fact that it is GPS based means you need no other goodies on the bike, just the mount. In my opinion Garmin has taken the lead in cycling computers. Polar is better for multi-sport athletes.
  11. Year ticket I think is R550. I'm also looking at buying one. I will save a lot of money
  12. Buy a new bike... Much better than buying second hand and just taking maintenance over. And you get a warranty on the frame if it cracks or any of that.
  13. It is through any Rudy Projects dealer. In PTA, Bruce Reyneke Cycles. Check on www.asgsport.co.za for dealers
  14. I'm with Vinny. Rudy is the way to go. The actually have a special where you can buy a pair of sunglasses and get the helmet and a set of lenses for free
  15. Change the cassette for a start. Slipping gears is not nice and it gets worst. Have your chain regulary checked at the LBS. If it is worn replace immediately, you will extend the life of your caseette. And Lube the the chain before and after every ride and clean it regulary.

Some presta valves have removable cores. Conti-tubes have removable cores, so no need to change valve type. Presta cores are easier to remove: just use a long nose
  17. Commencal Super 4. You wont be disappointed. This bike tames the Epic
  18. Schwalbe Rocket Ron front and back if you want super light and dont mind getting sidewall cut. Race King 2.2, not the lightest, but almost no punctures.
  19. Count me in
  20. Also helps to seal a leak on the bead.
  21. Do you have to compare your top of the range pedal to a mid-range egg-beater (ie Eggbeater SL)?? compare it to a Eggbeater 2Ti or 4Ti. 4Ti almost a 100gr lighter.
  22. Why do you want to change from Eggbeaters? Friend of mine rides with a pair of look quartz, because he doesn't like eggbeaters. Had some problems with the first set. Took them in, exchanged them on the spot, now he he love them.
