  1. I also think this system lacks a bit of objectivity. If I alway like to stand more to the front of the bunch to have a good position by the time we reach the single track. The faster guys of the bunch catch the ones in front in any case. But if your resluts are that good and you can prove it, then it's worth putting up a small fight.
  2. I worked in a bike shop the whole of the december holiday plus saved a couple of years to pay of my part on the Commencal my dad bought me. I'm turning 18 in 3 months and I haven't owned a road bike... let alone on of those with the "seven single on the rim".
  3. If this deal is legit, I would go for it, but I would double check!!

I don'y weigh anything so I can ride on Classic hubs, but for the heavier guys maybe DT Swiss or Sun Ringle Superfly's like on the Goose's

Other choice if you have got the buck is a pair of CrossMax SLR's. Best MTB wheelset I have ever seen. And it is tough. But olympics are very customizable, so you can rig them to your liking

Well ZTR olympic's is a light and reliable pair. I have a friend who build them with American Classic hubs and he has done 3 epics and very other stage races without a bend or buckle. Very good set of wheels.
  7. Commencal Skin 2 Carbon at only 9.5kg for R20 000. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=74456&KW=
  8. I have one those on. Best way to go is to use the chain that goes with your groupset. SRAM on SRAM...
  9. SRAM rear derailers work with shimano trigger, but not grip-shifts as far as I know. have your LBS check it for you
  10. I drilled my seatpost to pop rivet the head when it went loose. It worked for a while, but ended up buying a new one in any case.
  11. You get special clamps that bolt around your seatpost, friends of mine did the Epic with them. Ask LBS to get you a set. Their not that expensive
  12. The worst part for me about this whole thing is that a whole racial group is going to blamed for the actions of a few stupid people. I should add that I'm a very liberal person and that I don't support racism in any form, but the racial prejudice that exist among small groups within the larger is going to be the downfall of our country.
  13. Commencal Meta 5.5, since he is a freestyler. 120mm travel all-round and it can take the punches from freestylers and downhiller a like and will still make a great XC bike.
  14. This is about the fifth time I have seen this post on TheHub. Just a different author everytime
  15. My setup would be: Crossmax SLR Schwalbe Rocket Ron 26x2.1 Formula Disk SRAM PG-990 cassette

  18. Love all these Commencals. Will upload a pic of mine soon. D.G Skin 2 is the best
  19. IF you want a pedal that you can use a normal shoe on from time to time, the Shimano's are your pedals. However, Eggbeaters are the best pedals i've ridden with. you unclip so easily, they are light and mud and stuff isn't a problem. Puls they are servicable and rebuildable and it is very easy. So if you want a good pedal Crankbrothers is the only pair of pedals yu will ever buy
  20. I use a little black bottle that says Tyre Sealant on the side ( written in shocking green) cost about R20-00 a bottle and throw in two bottle per tyre when doing tubeless for the first time. It's a dark greyish liquid and will seal up to a 6mm hole and I have seen it myself. OKO is a little thick for tubeless.
  21. I use products from FiT Sportslab. They have an article on races like the Epic on their website. http://www.fitsportslab.com/NutritionGuides/MultidayEvents/tabid/62/Default.aspx Check out this link from their siteVivster2010-02-02 08:10:50
  22. Anybody who has trained/raced with these tyres? what size and UST/ or plain evo version? How many punctures and kilometers did you get from them?
