  1. Can anyone please send me a Google Maps location of the RAF Smile Activation photograph point?

I'm unable to find my photograph searching by race number, so i'm trying to figure out what time I went through that area to manually search for it.

  2. After submitting the seeding query form, does anyone get an e-mail confirming the submission has gone through?

I just checked my e-mail from last year and saw I received a confirmation previously, but have not received anything confirming this years query submission

I enjoyed the race. Although in B group on the 65km, someone in the front stopped the bunch on the single track saying we had taken a wrong turn. This caused major congestion and turns out we were on the right path. Maybe dodgy tactics from the group leaders??? Otherwise really enjoyed it.
Anyone know when results are ready?

Found the Race Results here :

  4. Did the 45km and overall was a good race experience.

I blame the board number chaos at the start on inconsiderate riders and not the organizers. Once i got to the board collection table, it took 20 seconds to get my board and move away. Once you collect your board, don't try and cable tie it at the collection table 🙄, move to a quieter spot out of the way, but yes pre-race collection would have been a better option.

There were a couple of bottlenecks caused by rider error but it happens. Sometimes in a race situation, the less experienced get a little flustered having someone close behind them (when they're used to miles of space on their normal rides), and end up in the wrong gears or doubting their abilities over an obstacle. So if you ride with this in mind, you enjoy the ride better, as long as it's not a bottleneck every few km, which it wasn't for me on Saturday.

So - still no QR code SMS received - not me or my son and we both have seeding mails. I guess it is now just going to EXPO to collect number with supported documentation - excluding "this QR code" thing! I so hope we do not get flack at expo entry! Not in the mood for this!

I might have missed you saying so... but have you/your son, booked your EXPO time slots?

  6. Checking the MTB Start List this morning i see my name is now showing up. Looks like this list is still a work in progress, hence my name wasn't showing up yesterday. I did not get a chance to contact the Race office either, so this update was solely from their side.

Makes sense now why the e-mails with proper info still not sent. Their start lists still incomplete!

Have also been trying to get hold of race office for the MTB, just checked the above list, and am nowhere to be found... WTF, R office very silent today

I'm missing from this list as well! ????

Hopefully they're still updating this list to be more complete before officially releasing it

  8. Average HR:153

    Max HR:177

    That was a hard 62km.

Us and 2 or 3 other tandems kept the pace high at the front with no attacking till the heidelburg turn with 20km to go. Up till then the high pace would drop a tandem every few km till we were 5(3 men and 2 mixed). It was a crazy last 20km with the 5 tandems attacking and being caught, basically all came in a few seconds behind each other split over 6 seconds.

Racetec doesn't have the winners on the list at all so maybe they didn't wear chips so it has us as 2nd overall and winning the mens but it should read 3rd overall and 2nd mens tandem.

    Awesome result there!

  9. Which side you coming from?

But, No you don't have to be there before the elites go off. If you are coming from the side we race towards then it will be a bit slower as there are road closures but you can still get in.

Will be driving down from PTA.

So Google Maps is suggesting R21 South, N12 East, Atlas Road which then becomes Van Dyck Road. Will turn right onto Commissioner (as per Ride for Sight digimag suggestion), then left into Jubilee and to the stadium.

Just wasn't sure if the parking areas are closed off etc. before the first batches

  10. Just a question to those that have done this race before.

With my start time of 08:12, i don't need to be at the stadium from before the first batch right? ie. be at the stadium waiting by 06:00 already?

I'm just checking that i would be able to get to the parking lots once the earlier batches have already begun or will i be blocked out with road closures?

  11. I doubt it, have you been to registration yet? You can probably get something there. Which group in particular you looking for? Am sure the guys can post their groups and times and you can compile a list if need be?

I am doing the "coffee ride" short one.

    TS(tandems) starting at a LATE 07H56

If 07H56 is LATE... then my start time at 08:12 (ES group, short ride) is like the "sunset" of start times... lol
