  1. Hi Maryke. I read similar info in the book "Racing Weight: How to Get Lean for Peak Performance". Ideally I would like to weigh a constant 68kgs and therefore would need to eat at minimum 5g x 68 = 340g of Carbs. That would require me to eat at least 14 bananas or a complete loaf of whole-wheat bread. That sounds a bit extreme and I would find it difficult eating anything else after having consumed so much carbs during the day. There will be no space left in my body for other fruit and veggies as well. Also very important is when you eat your carbs because I believe that timing is important. From what I have read it seems that carbs needs to be consumed just before and after workouts because that is when they are most beneficial to the muscle glycogen stores and won’t be channeled towards fat storage. Your thoughts please and do u think I am correct in my thinking?
  2. not healthy @ all

  7. Chris when Killarny night riding starts up in a couple of weeks time then some guys will be torn between doing one or the other. Would be great if we can have both these rides on alternative days. Killarny Wednseday nights could kill the legs of the fast guys and then on a Thursday night we could have a much more enjoyable CWC ride :-)

  11. Ferrous Oxide: What are the benefits in using rims that require rim tape appose to using UST rims that are tubeless ready and requires no rim tape (tubeless conversion kit)? For some reason I was thinking that the later (UST) rims would be the better/lighter option.
  12. Thanks. Why did you choose these specific rims?
  13. does your 1600g include tubless conversion kit and quick releases? I guess not.

  17. Guys when is the next Ride Before you Buy in Cape Town and how can we get them more regularly? I would love the opportunity to try out a couple of 29ers.
  18. It beats sitting in the traffic and a great way to get in the training. I prefer MTB and its better at negotiating the traffic. Also better training when doing sorter rides because of the weight and rolling resistance. Advice would be to pack your bags evening before. Get comfortable backpack and take extra set of kit for the return journey. REMEMBER good lighting front and rear. I guess this is all just common sense stuff 
  19. R140 + R50 late entry + Transport cost from Cape Town ++++++ WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this sh*te legal?
